Pico is hands down the best restaurant in Rockaway Queens. My wife and I go there quite often and we have never not been fully satisfied. At this point I most likely have tried everything on the menu, from burritos to burgers to their Rib Eye steak everything is fantastic. Even ordered from their daily specials a few times and each time the dinner was great. With big portions, inexpensive prices and incredibly tasty food it is a must try for anyone in Rockaway. They have a great beer list with taps that are always changing as well. I love that a place like this exists in Rockaway. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the entire staff is super friendly. We sat next to the fireplace in the back room, which made my wife so happy. We ordered the corn, and the cabbage salad with grilled Mahi Mahi. I highly recommend both of these dishes. The fish tacos here are also some of the best I tasted. I've been here several times, and waited to make a review. So here we go! The restaurant scene in Rockaway (that was a weird sentence to write) has been growing steadily and Pico is a wonderful addition. All the dishes that I have been able to try have been delicious and cooked well. Somethings do taste better than others but overall pretty decent and tasty selection to choose from. Their drink selection is also pretty good (some good choices in beer and tequila) but their frozen drinks are the best. The only real issue I have is the attention and timing of the waitstaff. The staff should be aware of all their customers in their area especially if their hands are up constantly trying to gain their attention. Seriously that was the only issue, but it seems to have gotten better the past two times I've had dinner there. On that note, I highly, highly recommend the Shrimp Empanadas with that Mango Sauce (yummy!!) with the Frozen Lemon-drops. read more

After laying in the sun on the beach in Rockaway all we day, we NEEDED margaritas and guac. Pico is on the one street where parking is actually allowed but very limited. They have a tiny lot for customers but it was full. We got lucky and found a clutch spot right out front. Pico is an adorable place. The booths that seat 6 in the front were really nice. We were seated in the back room near the giant brick fireplace. Obviously ordered margaritas (I got a regular and my girlfriend got a frozen). Both good, both strong as fuck. By the time the guac was devoured, we were both pretty buzzed. The chips that come with the guac are definitely homemade --- great touch! I could eat that guac with a spoon all day. Obviously also ordered fish tacos. It's an integral part of my diet. These babies did not disappoint. And to make it better, I made them a taco entree which comes with rice and beans and... their black beans and rice are vegetarian so we can all rejoice! Fish tacos were amazing. Everything was amazing. I'm not sure I'll ever be making the trek to Rockaway again but if I find myself here - Pico here I come! read more

Also the salads are all amazing I usually add there cooked to perfection shrimp to all the salad I order....ambiance is very cute with the streaming lights in the back room and all the different hot sauces they have out. The guacamole was nothing special, but I did enjoy the chips . The shrimp taco was absolutely delicious, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fish taco taco was not my favorite. We also split the LA burrito with chicken which was by far my favorite dish. For dessert, we tried the dulce the leche cake. Decided to go here for dinner while in the neighborhood. The place was on a nice block of other restaurants and bars. I loved the decor in this restaurant, it was bright, cozy and rustic. The menu had a good selection of food and drinks. I had a blueberry mojito, chips and guacamole and a brisket burrito. The portions were much larger than I expected, definitely had leftovers! The service was pretty good, space is great for friends and large families as well. I felt the prices were a little high but the quality was excellent. Food is always great here. Love the corn cob, the nachos and tres leches dessert. I love that they served their food in a neat manner. The waitresses/ bar tenders were always courteous to us. They made suggestions for drink refills a lot of times which I don't mind. They clean up right away. The people who hang out here are always groomed good smelling and nice looking. You may dress casual as you visit this place. The staff may dress better than you haha! But honestly they wouldn't care as long as you enjoy their food and your visit. I don't even know where to begin. We found this place thanks to other yelpers. We wanted to get out of Glen Cove and try something out of our little world. We started at the bar for a quick drink before we sat down for dinner. I love a good sangria, but it has to be GOOD. Not just some wine with fruit in it. I was debating out loud on whether I was going to order it or not and our bartender offered to let me try it. So YUM! Hubby got the Pico margarita. It was so good. No acidy sour taste. Just good and fresh! Now let's move onto dinner. First we stared with the guacamole with crab meat and the elote. The flavors of both were AMAZING and so so fresh!!! Next after our server, Greg, patiently described the things on the menu we had questions about, we ordered the taco flight, an extra pastrami taco, and shrimp empanadas. There isn't one thing I could say about any of it that is bad at all! The shrimp empanadas came with a fruity sauce to dip them in. I could have drank that sauce by itself!!! And the tacos....oh man those tacos. Every bite was better than the one before. Based on our service - Greg was amazing!!! - and the others that helped him by wrapping up our leftovers, delivering food etc., we could just really tell that Pico gives a crap on what they deliver. When it was time for dessert, I knew we would go for the bread pudding. We had told Greg that we have had bread pudding all over the country and really have a favorite down in Texas. He assured us that Pico's bread pudding would soon become the favorite. He explains that it is made with croissants and is phenomenal. Well he hadn't steered us wrong so far, so bread pudding it was. The food is Spanish cuisine, but the chef prepares it was an emphasis that makes any seafood dish pop with flavor (most likely bc it was a seafood restaurant before).
