My lunch turkey on croissant with greens and side salad

I've been here a few times previous but this week entered alone. Had a beautiful early luncheon! This place suits me for my food journey I'm on now: fresh food, created by hand with great care. You're greeted warmly and with smiles. Music playing is mild and reminiscent (I love that). They serve your hot beverages especially tea with leaves in silk bags and the cutest little spoons. Condiments on a side table and cooler drinks in side fridge. The lighting is natural and bright should you choose to eat inside and also not so bright if you choose to sit around corner of space more private. Very comfortable tables and chairs. One could stay awhile. I had the sliced fresh turkey breast ( no deli meat, this IS turkey) on toasted croissant with fresh greens and a delicious spread. Subtle but delicious. My side was salad with shaved carrots and homemade balsamic dressing. I also had a lemongrass ginger tea with water. Finally, I had a slice of key lime pie to go. Imma tell you I've had the dutch apple and triple berry crumb pie prior...nothing disappoints. Pies are their thing and next I will try the biscuits cause they look terrific. I enjoyed my time yesterday and returned for another turkey sandwich to go today with fresh fruit. Can't express it enough...patronize this place. It's a great gem in a little town full of them. Share it with a friend or alone, you'll love it!!

Stopped by this cute little shop while walking around Ambler, after having lunch. It's off the main drag, so you have to look for it. They have some delicious looking pies in the case when you enter. I chose a yummy piece of key lime pie! The crust was flaky and it wasn't too tart or too sweet. My sister took home a small Chocolate Crack pie and a container of chocolate chip cookies. It definitely satisfied her sweet tooth. Next time I'm in Ambler, I know where to stop.

I have been wanting to try this spot since 2016 but could never seem to plan my trips correctly. Well the day finally arrived and it is everything I thought it would be. Super cute tiny corner pie shop! The serve breakfast, and lunch. Huge menu of options that all sound amazing. There's also cookies, pookies (pie baked in a cookie) cheesecake with cookie crust, all sorts of pies to go either fresh by the slice, they have a selection of things frozen ready to go. I had the chicken mushroom Alfredo hand pie, my family ordered the mac and cheese pot pie and chicken pot pie. I also brought home chocolate chip pookie with chocolate crack pie in the middle, some sugar pookies with key lime pie, a celebration biscuit And last but not least a cheesecake baked in a chocolate chip cookie base mini pie that was freaking life changing! Everything we ordered tasted as good as it looked! I'll be here a lot more to say the least! If your even close to here go you won't regret it!

Had the quiche, a cup of coffee and got two cookies to go. Quiche was a bit burnt but the rest of it was good Coffee was on point. Cookies were delicious! Service was great and the place is so cute. Note, they do not want you there for more than 45 min per their signs on tables so you can't work from here if you planned to.

Pie & Plate is a lovely corner cafe in downtown Ambler, PA. Large blackboard menu, tall refrigerated display case with the house made bakery goods, and the overall gestalt of a turn of the 20th Century community gathering spot. Woman ownership and operation, I found service warmly friendly, helpful and an excellent voice for the business. Breakfast choices are fairly limited at quiche, morning sandwich and some gluten free accessories; unless you are willing to kick your diet out the double doors and head directly for the scrumptious cakes and pies singing their siren songs before your eyes. Tempting let me tell you, but discretion being the better part of indulgence, I went with their handmade biscuit loaded with double egg, sausage patty and Havarti cheese, that came attractively wrapped in thin brown paper and my choice of small fresh fruit cup. Their coffee shouldn't be ignored either, because it came in strong, hot and head butting good. I sat on a stool at a large white table enjoying the warmth of the sun after the deluge of the night before. From this vantage point I could watch what was happening in the kitchen, as well the streetlife beyond the large window. I enjoyed my meal, and the attention of the owner as she offered to refill my mug and willingly returned to the Cunard to fetch the milk I desired for the Java. Everything combined well in taste and texture. Minor quibble with the crumbliness of the biscuit, which had me picking up the small pieces with my fingers so as not to leave too much behind. Overall, I worthy meal from an establishment well suited for its time and location. Pie & Plate helps Ambler maintain its charm.

If you haven't been to the pie and plate café yet, I think you may be missing out. This was by far the greatest pie cookie and whipped cream I have ever had and I'd like to consider myself café foodie. everything is homemade so when they ask if you want whip cream without a second question say yes

What a super cute place! I'm so glad we found this place! They had a fantastic selection of pies, both sweet and savory! I got a savory chicken pot pie, you could tell by the taste, a lot of love went into it! It definitely tasted like it was freshly made and with good quality ingredients! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, I must have asked 20 questions, there were just so many to choose from I wanted to make sure I got the right one for me! The ambiance was wonderful, from the second you walk in the place is welcoming, they have free water available for nice hot summer days, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating! I would definitely recommend stopping here and checking out their pie and tea/coffees selections!

Every aspect of our experience was just delightful and tasty. Walked to the lovely aroma of frosting complemented by the smells of mushroom soup on the stove. Modern, clean, inviting.... enjoy your beverage and food at one of the many comfy spots throughout. Had a cup of coffee with a heavenly slice of peach cherry pie.... and we thought we've had some of the best pie. Well, that was up tasting their pie. Holy cow this was awesome. From the burst of the fruit to the just amount of firmness to the crust. And a sizeable slice I may add. Certainly worth the short walk over from the Ambler Theater. We'll be back for "real food" and of course another slice of pie.

I highly recommend pie and plate cafe. Their pies are delicious and come in a wide variety of both sweet and savory flavors. I recently had the pleasure of trying a slice of their pecan pie and apple pie. Both the crust and filling were delightful. If pies aren't your thing, don't worry. There is plenty of other food available. From sandwiches to cupcakes, pie and plate has you covered. Also worth noting and not to be missed are the pookies - cookies with pie inside. Bottom line - a gem in the heart of Ambler anyone will enjoy.

Mac and cheese pot pie light and crispy!

We went here for lunch! The owner was very accommodating. We didn't know brunch was running til 1-we arrived at around noon. Had my heart set on the Mac and cheese pot pie. They agreed to allow us to order off the lunch menu. The price was 9$ and came with a side of fruit. It was absolutely scrumptious. The pastry it was served in was a flaky puff pastry - something I wasn't expecting but was awesome! There was a flaky toasty square atop the Mac and cheese. We enjoyed our time here. The one counter server was warm and welcoming and remembered us from last time. Lunch was enjoyable and we resisted the amazing pie display. It's a well run business most deserving of your patronage.

The layout of this cafe is cute. They have high top seating and small tables with bright red chairs. The interior walls are bright and inviting. With trees decorating the walls. They have compostable straws that came with our drinks which I thought was neat as compared to paper straws. We ordered the quiche ( mushroom & spinach) and Mercer pot pie ( turkey bacon, eggs, cheese). It also came with a small cup of seasonal fruit. The quiche was great! Light, fluffy and very filling. The crust was flaky and crunchy and complimented the fluffy quiche perfectly. My husband's pot pie was also very filling. But he preferred the taste of my quiche more. We really lucked out on finding a nice cafe while walking off of main Street would definitely recommend if you're in the area! We didn't get to try the pies unfortunately. We were too full.

If I could give Pie and Plate Cafe 10 stars I would. I have celiac disease and had called ahead to see if they had any options that would meet my dietary restrictions. They were incredibly accommodating and would recommend this cafe to everyone. The food was delicious and I will be coming back again soon! read more

I love this place. They have a great assortment of pies from pot pies to key lime pies. You can't go wrong with stopping by for a bite. The pot pie flaky crust is to die for. Each and every pot pie I've had there has not failed to fill me yet. One item to note is that the menu is not served daily (from what I've experienced). So be ready to have a back up plan if the particular item you want is not available. read more

My friend and I both had quiches which were creamy smooth and totally delicious. Very fresh side salad. Service was fast and friendly. We shared a slice of the apple custard pie which was dreamy and creamy. Perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Very charming and comfy decor! I will be back! I can only review for the breakfast, since we haven't had the pleasure of trying their pies yet. Enjoyed coming here for a light breakfast a few weekends ago and my husband loved his breakfast sandwich! The fruit in the side is a refreshing touch as well. I wish they had something less flour heavy, like eggs straight up on some greens or a frittata, but the pie/"down-home" cooking is certainly their game here, so not sure if a lighter menu item is a stretch. Irregardless, we had really kind service and it feels like a spot where they are loving what they do. Hope they keep doing well in Ambler. read more

Super cute little breakfast/brunch place tucked away in Ambler. Haven't tried their lunch offerings, but came here for brunch with my boyfriend. You order at the counter, and then they your food out to your table once it's ready, which is a nice touch. You pay for everything after you've eaten, so if you want to go back up and get something else, it's not a big deal. We each got the breakfast pot pie and it was excellent. I also had a cup of coffee which was very good. Not unlimited refills on the coffee, but they give you a nice big mug and the first refill is free, so that was plenty for me. We each had a piece of pie for dessert. I got the cherry crumble and my boyfriend got the coconut with chocolate crust. Both were excellent. The rest of the baked goods (brownies, cookies, etc) looked tantalizingly delicious, but we were there for pie so pie is what we got. Decor is super cute, exactly what you'd want a cutesy little pie shop to be. Seating is somewhat limited, but not as much as you'd expect. I'd still say best for small groups, no more than four. If you're looking for a cute little brunch spot, I'd definitely give it a try! read more

My fiancé and I stopped here for breakfast today and were not disappointed. We both got breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches came with some sort of sauce on them. We were initially skeptical of the sauce so we ordered it on the side but ended up dipping our sandwiches in it because it was so good. The coffee was hot and they give you one free refill. The staff was super nice too. We're not from the area but if we are ever in town again we would definitely come back! read more

Stopped in for brunch and we were not disappointed. Had the bacon Mac and cheese, it was delicious. Portion was a little bit small but the macaroni was delicious and the pie crust was light and flaky. The quiche also looked excellent and was a heartier portion. The only negative thing I could say is that the entrees took quite awhile to come out, but in their defense it was a busy Sunday morning. Make sure to save room for dessert, we tried both the chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and both were top notch. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

The coffee is great. You know if I am starting with a review of the coffee it says more about my love of coffee. The cheesecake inside a chocolate chip cookie was amazing. They have savory pies too. Small, little cafe with great coffee ( individual drip cup and all other varieties) and tasty food. They have some sandwiches, frittatas and baked goods. Pies are awesome! We've tried key lime which was delicious but everything looked good . Decor is clean, elegant, nothing too fancy. Service very friendly. They've been opened only for 11 weeks. My fiancé and I stopped in for Sunday breakfast I got the biscuits with sausage grave and she got the pretzel roll breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious! Before we left we decided to get a whole Key Lime pie for a family dinner later that night. Everyone at dinner said it was one of the best Key Lime pies they've had (and that's saying a lot because we have family in Florida who usually bring Key lime pies). Pie and plate was nice enough to sell me a whole pie even though they are usually call ahead. Thanks again Pie and Plate! We'll be back. read more

I loved it, it's a cute & comfy setting, very nice workers and awesome pie and coffee.They use coffee from a local roaster in Ambler, Wake. I'll definitely be back. I might still be humming 10 hrs later after my amazing lunch here ! This place is full of charm, hospitality and everything on the menu is made with LOVE. I got the Euclid salad -- absolutely fresh and incredible (spinach, Apple, blackberries, pecans, goat cheese and an incredible raspberry dressing) My motivation for salad was of course to leave room for PIE ! And I am SOOO glad I did ! The pie selection is incredible. What screamed out was the Key Lime. This was a creamy-dreamy gift of baking heaven in every bite. And that graham cracker crust -- buttery and flaky. Strong iced coffee, just the way I like it. Not watered down in any way. This place commands many return visits ! read more

Cute little shop. Went for a Sunday brunch and it was not too busy. Ordered a breakfast pie and it was good. Service was great. My only gripe was I ordered a slice of pie to go and it was the daintiest slice for $6. Maybe 3 bites? It was good but was it worth it? Not really. I don't recommend getting it to go because it seems like the slices are bigger dining in. read more

I always like to try new places, especially if they are local and not part of a big chain. I saw that there were 4.5 stars and $ and said let's give it a try. The 4.5 stars were spot on but this place is more expensive than just one $. It should be more like $$ or $$$ for the size of the portions. The food was very good but we left feeling hungry. I don't think we will be back. read more

Very charming local cafe. The staff was friendly. I ordered a egg sandwich and a coffee we also got a cookie and the chocolate crack pie. Everything was generous in size and tasted great. The pie was very rich, with 2 people we couldn't finish it. I would have loved a smaller slice so we could have maybe tried more than the 1 as other pies looked delicious as well, I will be back for sure. read more

This was our first visit and the food was excellent. I had the crab quiche and it was tasty and moist with a nice soft crust. The vegetable soup was made with fresh vegetables also with a spicy but not too spicy flavor. We had the apple pie and it was the best I've ever had, ever! The price was reasonable and we'll definitely be back often. We met the owner and she is very nice. read more

This place was darling. It's very bright and inviting on the inside. They have many different delicious looking treats as you walk in at the counter. Also looked like they had a nice menu for lunch. We got tea and cookies and they were very tasty. There are several large tables for community sharing and a couple of 2-tops in the front. I asked and the indicated they had wi-fi so this could be a great place to post up and get some work done. read more

Confused about the high reviews. The only thing this place has going for it is a cute atmosphere. The food is way overpriced for its quality (we tried both an egg dish and a slice of pie) and the customer service is lackluster. They forgot to bring us our coffee and didn't even tell us where the sugar is or offer us creamer. No check up on us either. I'll be sticking with the Abyss Coffee place down the road who now offers a full breakfast menu and an attentive staff. read more

On this visit, we were disappointed. We were the only guests, and it took over 15 minutes for them to bring a cup of soup (very good) and a piece of quiche which was hot on the outside, and cold on the inside, and the bacon was undercooked, so it was rubbery. I took it home to heat it up myself later. The pricey cookies were good, but my companion was disappointed that they do not have an espresso machine. Sad to say not loving this place after this last experience. read more

Such a cute place for a light and tasteful brunch. I had a pot pie with egg, cheese sauce and bacon, and my partner had the Fairway pork roll sandwich on a pretzel roll. Both were so delicious and served with a side of freshly cut fruit. We topped it off with a cheesecake pie served on a chocolate cookie crust - to die for. We even took home some cupcakes. The atmosphere is adorable with white, aqua, and red accents (and wifi). They have a few cozy chairs by windows as well. The service was excellent, and the employees make you feel as though they know you from the neighborhood. ALSO BYOB!!!! Have your own bottomless brunch! Will be back next weekend for sure. read more

I went with my sister yesterday for the first time. I was really impressed by the place. The food was fresh and the space is really bright and clean. We split the Mac n Cheese pot pie which came with side salad. Dressing was very tasty (think it was a white balsamic) - they should bottle and sell that stuff! We also split a choc chip scone, which was warmed for us. Will def go back! read more

Pie and Plate Cafe is delightful. It is the closest thing to a bakery, we've had for many years in Ambler. The desserts smell amazing, from a block away. It's nice to be able to sit down for a leisurely cup of tea/coffee with a treat in their shop. Need to go back soon to see what's new on their menu! read more

I went to visit with my husband and had a delicious Quiche, with a wonderful flaky crust and my husband had the Chicken Pot Pie which was also wonderful.... then the FABULOUS pie!
