FIRE! Detroit style pizza with effort. All ingredients work together and with crispy airy crust. The sauce is on the savory side and very delicious. We are all in on this joint. Parking is sometimy but well worth it.
Hidden gem alert in Columbus! As a Columbus native, I'm always on the hunt for great local spots, and Pie of the Tiger definitely delivered. The pizza was delicious -- we ordered the chicken bacon ranch, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were well-balanced, the crust was on point, and every bite was satisfying. This is one of those places you're excited to tell people about once you find it. If you're looking for a solid pizza spot that feels like a true hidden gem, I highly recommend giving Pie of the Tiger a try. I'll absolutely be back!
Detroit Style pizza. Sause is good bread was buttery perfect for the style of pizza . Service was you just pace an order and they give you a buzzer find your own seat when it goes off you walk up and pick it up. It's a bar and I think they aren't out the kitchen.
Went here for date night last weekend and was excited to try the pizza since I have heard so many great things about it. The bar atmosphere was cool and we had a couple beers while waiting on our food. The pizza was okayyyy. It looked better than what it was. I did love the crust though. The cheese was like a cheap mozzarella cheese I can't explain it. I'm glad I tried it but I most likely won't eat it again. We also got the sampler appetizer and it was just basic. Nothing to rave about. The service was good.
Had the margarita pizza (added pepperoni) and boneless wings. Delicious! Good prices and friendly staff!
Nice hole-in-the-wall pizza spot situated in the back of Short North Tavern. I walked in at 4:58 and knew it was my time to shine when the guy behind the back door lit up the little sign and pushed out the POS system he had on a little bar cart. I ordered the margherita and 15 minutes later came out the guy with a smile on his face and an 8 inch pizza box in his hand. The smell of the box when I opened it in my car brought tears to my eyes, it smelled pesto-y and garlicky and absolutely delicious. I took a bit of it when it was piping hot and all the cheese fell off in a wet sloppy mess so I cursed my impatience and waited 5-10 minutes before trying again. The pesto was really bright and flavorful, and the fresh mozz and ricotta really put it over the top and made it that much more decadent. The crust was also fantastic, Detroit style with the crispy edges is my preferred style. Only note was that they should have used low moisture mozz instead of the fresh stuff because all the cheese on top of the fresh tomato made it super wet and goopy. Flavors were excellent though. Will definitely be back for more, maybe with a friend next time!

I stopped in for drinks on a game day and made a mental note to come back for some 'za the next time I was in the mood. I am so glad I did! I went with the Margherita and was absolutely not disappointed with my choice. It was fully loaded with gooey goodness, delicious pesto sauce, tomatoes, and mounds of ricotta and mozzarella? cheese. It only comes with four slices but honestly each slice is basically a meal for me. I saved the rest for later and even the crust was still crispy and delicious when reheated in the toaster oven. I don't eat pizza very often but I probably won't risk wasting a pizza night anywhere else in the future. Thanks so much, Pie of the Tiger! This is what ninja turtle dreams are made of.

Sort of difficult to find and less than friendly service, but the pizza was really good! I wish there were more toppings considering the price, but the crust was phenomenal.
There's the scoop. This pizza spot is technically a pop-up inside of one of my favorite bars in the Short North, the Short North Tavern. I sure hope it stays considering how often I drink there and how often I realize I need something to eat before I leave. I've had nibbles of friend's pizzas but I recently got my own with a friend and was able to get the full experience. We got the cheese pizza and holy cow it was good and a large portion. They call it a mix between Sicilian and Detroit style pizza and it comes in four big slices. We only finished about half of it and saved the rest for the following day. I loved that the sauce was on top and the garliciness (is that a real word?) was prominent. The crust had a bit of a crunch to it (my favorite) and we were both extremely satisfied. I highly recommend and will definitely be having it again and plan to explore their pizza menu further.
I had heard about this place for a while on social media, from a coworker, from various local food news outlets, etc. So I knew next time I was anywhere near the Short North, I'd have to order up a cheese pizza. (vegetarian here) This is a pretty unique outfit in that it's a small kitchen in the back of the Short North Tavern (I assume they don't have their own food?). There's no online ordering, you can't use food delivery services to get it. You need to call and order ahead or walk in and place your order. From the time I ordered, it took them 20 min to prepare. Impressive, considering the thickness of the crust. That's what got my attention: a square thick crust: one size fits all; 8 in. square. My only qualm is the lack of parking for a pickup order. I took a chance and parked in the alley next to the building for a quick pickup. Fortunately, I didn't get ticketed or towed in the 4 min I was inside, but I can't recommend this. I don't know what my other parking options were? I would've felt a lot more comfortable if I had someone with me to run in or stay in the car while I did. But that wasn't an option this time around. The good news is that they were quick with my order when I literally ran inside. The other good news is that the pizza was fantastic! It has the cheese on bottom, including what I think is ricotta cheese, because it reminded me of lasagna in some bites (that may turn some people away...), then the red sauce was on topic, quite a generous amount. The staff was friendly, the pizza was great and reasonably priced for the area and the amount of food you get. I'd say I could split this someone, or I could attempt to eat the whole thing myself. I hate almost 3 of the 4 slices before I was too full. I'd probably stick to 2 in the future, unless I haven't eaten all day. I will return. Maybe I'd eat in next time, and plan my parking in advance?
Great pizza place! I think this is a great place for 2 people. They serve pizzas with 4 slices so it's great for only 2 people who don't really need a whole pizza, and also don't want a bunch of left over pizza either. Pizza is super tasty! Have been back another time since we first went. Great pizza restaurant! Would recommend and would come back!
Finding this place took a little effort since it's tucked away in the back of a bar. Once you walk in, you'll spot a small window where you place your order. The food does take some time, so be ready to wait and maybe grab a drink while you hang out. The pizza was really good, but definitely on the heavier side. Wings were decent. No "best pizza in town" ego. Just a quiet little window cranking out square pies that deserve a standing ovation. I ordered the classic red top -- already a bold move -- and added pesto because balance matters and I like to live a little. The result? Beyond reproach. Fresh, loaded toppings. Sauce with depth. And that crust... that beautiful Detroit crust. Crispy edges with that caramelized cheese halo, but still chewy and pillowy inside. The textural contrast is what separates amateurs from legends -- and this? This was legend-level execution. Easily top 3 Detroit-style pizzas I've had. And that's not a casual statement. I've had Pie of the Tiger for takeout and now within the confines of Short North Tavern. You can't lose with either, but I'd definitely recommend the dine-in experience (just because I'm a fan of Short North Tavern). But these creative Detroit-style pies are tasty, filling, and make great leftovers, which can't be said of all pizzas. Most recently, I enjoyed my Meatball Sundae pizza very much. And I was pleased with the slice of the Dill Thrill that I traded for with my wife. The dueling flavor profiles created magic. With many more pizza combinations to try, you haven't seen the last of me, Pie of the Tiger! read more

Finally tried this spot as part of pizza & beer week. So glad I did! PotT is a pop up in the Short North Tavern and the pizza is unique for sure. Served in a four piece square, it's akin to Detroit style. The two of us shared the margherita and the dill thrill and had leftovers. Turns out that I love pickles on pizza. Who knew? I wish the edges were a little more crispy , but that's a small nit to pick. Definitely check it out if you're in the mood for an outside the box pizza experience. read more

Finally got a chance today to try out Pie of the Tiger, Yellow Brick Pizza's much-hyped Detroit style/Sicilian pop-up at Short North Tavern. Wow. This is the real deal. It did not disappoint. The crust is so crispy and incredible. Not too heavy either. It's a near perfect take on Detroit style pizza expertly crossed with a Sicilian pie. Instantly one of my favorite pizzas in Columbus and totally beats any other Detroit style in this town. Excellent stuff. I'm blown away. No idea how they work their magic, but goddamn. read more

Pie of the Tiger describes their za as a little Detroit and a little Sicilian. I describe it as a whole lotta delicious! Operating out of the Short North Tavern, this pizza kitchen is a new venture by Yellow Brick Pizza. And it's one of my favorite pizzas in Columbus. The thick crust is crispy on the outside and soft and airy on the inside, perfect to support the amazing toppings. They have a variety of speciality pizzas, including one loaded with pickles, but my personal favorite is a custom one: cheese, both types of pepperoni, and banana peppers. Every pizza has a healthy serving of sauce on the top. Spoiler: the sauce is amazing! Their pizzas only come with four slices, but that's more than enough to feed two people! You can also get single slices or do a combo pizza. I recommend Pie of the Tiger to literally everyone. It's definitely a must have next time you're craving some pizza in the Short North! read more

Was in Columbus this past weekend, and we decided to order in Saturday night. We found PotT in a quick search, and liked what we saw. We ordered a plain cheese pie, and one with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and mushrooms. They were legit some of the best pizza we've ever had. The crust was crispy crunchy, and delightfully chewy and airy inside. Also had a lovely "pull" to it. The sauce was delicious , and the cheese was perfectly caramelized along the edges. Topped off with a generous dollop of marinara and fresh ingredients, this pizza was simply outstanding. Note: we had it delivered via Post Mates. read more

Great pizza honestly. The crust is phenomenal, the toppings are fresh, and the pizza is the best mix between Detroit style and a little something extra. The lady at the bar was the nicest person too which made everything great except for the guy working the actual place. It was my first time there and he wasn't too keen on helping us with the menu and stared at us blankly as we were waiting for him to help explain what a tiger pizza was. I wish a local place like this had the local hospitality but maybe it was just one of those days. read more
Pie of the Tiger operates out of the kitchen in the Short North Tavern. The kitchen is located straight back from the entrance under the "Food" sign. I ordered the just pepperoni, Margherita, and B.C.R. Each pizza comes with 4 slices and they're hefty/substantial. Depending on how hungry you are, one pizza could feed two people. The pizza itself was very salty and the crust lacked flavor. Nothing really stood out to me as amazing, unfortunately. I was disappointed as the pizza looks really delicious. But it looks better than it tastes. read more

Pie of the Tiger is the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I think about it all the time. We just went for our two year anniversary because we love it so much. Always grab a beer from Short North Tavern while we wait for our food as well, perfection. read more
Absolutely love everything that Yellowbrick does and this is no different! Sicilian and Detroit style pizza are my favorite and they nailed the head on this one. The perfect combo of both. They pies are reasonably priced and the selection is large and unique! read more
