Went to Pieology Saturday night, 6/7/25 and while the service staff were excellent and friendly, and the chicken wings were deliciously charred, the pizza was trash.... it honestly tasted worse than microwave pizza and was definitely not worth the $25 price tag. The 3 stars i'm giving are only for the wings and the staff but based on the pizza and the cost, I probably won't be back. I came in today, July 21, at 1040 a.m. on a Sunday, 20 minutes prior to opening time, while waiting outside with family and friends after arriving from Sunday Church mass. I just wanted to give a shout-out to whoever is on the management team or opening shift duty on this specific day; THANK YOU! It was starting to get a little toasty outside, and a kind gentleman who was working "you know who you are" opened their doors and welcomed us in and informed us it'll be about 10 minutes until they are ready, but seat back and stay cool. I wished I caught your name, but you weren't wearing a name tag, which is understandable because you were "technically" still close, but opened your doors for me and my family/friends so we can stay cool inside. Honestly, gave me a great experience as it is my first time trying Peiology after being stationed overseas for over 7+ years. Pros: -Friendly and compassionate staff -Clean restroom and well-stocked of toilet paper. Thank you! -No self-ordering kiosk! -Offers military discount if you ask and show ID. -Plenty of parking available in the shared plaza. Cons: -None I'll definitely be back when I'm craving pizza. I really miss when Pieology had a downtown Sacramento location. It was one of my family's favorite spots. This pieology location in Yuba City was just as amazing as I remember from the downtown Sac location. Came here on a Friday night at 6pm. There was a counter full of pizza's. A large online order of about 20 pizzas had just came in and the whole crew of women working were hard at work! The line still moved really quickly and our order was accurate. I was very impressed. The crew worked well together despite all the chaos going on. Went with two pepperoni pizzas and a calzone and also a salad. The pizza was really good just as we all remember. The calzone was interesting. It's a newer menu item so we were intrigued. It came with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage and mushroom. The ricotta was a bit much but I'd just tell them go lighter next time. The crisp on the calzone was nice. I would definitely order it again. The service here was impeccable. There was a large order placed just before my arrival but the all female crew didn't break a sweat and kept things going. I was really impressed and even told them so. I USED to be a regular here. I really liked the staff that works during the week, and would go at least once a month. I will no longer be going to this place. As the owner decided to share the franchise space with an Indian eatery. Pielology's prices like everything have crept up, some menu items reduced, but the service and quality was still good enough. I tried visiting there tonight, waited in line, and could no longer stand the overwhelming stench of curry. I left and went to another pizzeria that actually smells like pizza. I walked into that establishment and enjoyed the scent of pizza as it should be. I will not be returning to a pizza place that smells so awful and clearly caters to their side venture sharing the same leased space. When I leave and I still smell like curry after waiting in line for 5 minutes. I would have recommended this place previously, but not now. Avoid this place unless you enjoy the smell of stinky feet. read more

The two ladies working today were awesome. I told them I wanted a cauliflower crust and they asked immediately if it was choice or allergy and I told him it was a combo of both so they prepared my food as such. It was nice to be asked and the care they took to make sure my food was prepared properly was impressive. They were engaging, great service and they were very attentive. Very hit or miss. Last couple times I went pizza was pretty undercooked, to the point we just threw the crust away due to it being raw... Employees are always nice, and inside is nice and clean as well. Probably won't go again due to high prices and food not getting cooked correctly. read more

Our server, I think her name was Ashley? (tall, thin, dark hair) was so sweet and professional and just an all around kind person. My son spilled his drink all over the floor and she was so understanding and helped us clean it up even though I know she was busy. The last time we were in pieology was probably 7 to 8 years ago. It was a positive experience then, it was even more positive today. We love the addition of the 'Bur-Roti Bowl's section of the restaurant. We got a bowl for the hubby, along with some fabulous seasoned fries. In the pizza area, we got a pizza for the grandson, and it was such a pleasure to be able to build it ourselves. Food was fresh and fabulous, staff was above awesome! Will we be returning? After a long day of running errands and getting situated, my wife and I decided we wanted pizza. This was the best place for us because of the plant-based options, the sizes of the pizza, and the fact that there is little to no waste. The parking lot is a little difficult to maneuver but once you get to your destination, it doesn't really matter. This restaurant sits right on 99 so it's a good place to stop if you're coming or going. We were immediately served and treated well. Our server was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. She even poked fun at me when I was surprised my wife put pineapples on her pizza. I'm not a huge fan of it but I respect it. The price was reasonable and there were enough seats for everyone to sit. My wife and I enjoyed our meal in a restaurant that was clean, spacious, and had a lot of natural light. We will definitely be visiting again whether for dinner or just picking up a snack. read more

Delicious, fast, friendly and clean. What more could you ask for? Tried the hand streched crust this time and did not disappoint. Watched the worker grab fresh dough, stretch it by hand with cornmeal. A welcomed sight seeing how fresh it was. So many options here for toppings. I personally think ricotta belongs on all pizza, kinda an east coast thing but they have it here and it is fantastic. What separates thia place from most pizza places is the oven. Old school slide it in oven, and turn it ever so often...no boring conveyor belt oven here. Makes a big difference in quality. Close to a wood fired oven. Price is not overly inflated either. Went up to Yuba City for basketball tournaments... nice that this place was available. They allowed indoor seating, but had outdoor seating as well. Build your own pizza was great... Seems like if & when you order an hour within closing they really don't care if they give you burnt pizza. Both my husbands & i's pizzas burnt, partially inedible. I normally love their pizza, but today I decided to try their gf crust instead of the cauliflower crust. Although it looked beautiful in the box, the crust was undercooked and soggy. I was barely able to eat it, and had to eat around the doughiest bits. This is extremely disappointing, as I spent $20 on a personal pizza. I find it incredibly frustrating having to spend the extra $4-5 for a crust that I can eat; however it defeats the purpose of me even getting that if the crust ruins the taste of the pizza. read more

We ordered and had it delivered. All 4 pizzas were burnt, absolutely black. Half of 2 pizzas were soggy like they were dipped in water. I called the store and nobody answered. I filled out the questionnaire on line and received no response. We ended up throwing away 4 pizzas, $74 worth of pizza. Oh, they have a great selection of pizzas in the crust and three different types for actually different types. You have gluten-free you have vegan yeah wheat you have double crust and it's regular original toppings or the general type and you could find some pretty odd stuff there but you know it's your way of how you want to assemble your own pizza and it's your own personal thing which is really cool, and that's what makes it much more enjoyable. Dealing with gestational diabetes has been a huge pain because I can't really enjoy my favorite foods such as pizza. I was returning home from UC Davis Med Center when I saw a sign posted on Pieology's building, 'Now Open'. I couldn't wait to try their pies. I'm such a fan of Mod Pizza and I thought this chain must be similar. I never tried Pieology. Of course there was a line when I arrived. It took about 20-25 minutes to get to the front. My granddaughter and daughter were still at the house; so I ordered one with extra black olives & pepperoni for my little pumpkin and one with ham, black olives, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, garlic, and green bell peppers! They were to-go orders. They came out fairly quick. I took the pies home and surprised my granddaughter. She had the biggest smile on her face. She devoured at lest three pieces. She's only 20 months old. I ate a few pieces of the combo. I thought the pizza was good, but not great. I tried my granddaughter's and again good, but not great. Both pies were not bad by any means, but not great. I grabbed another piece. After I eaten about half, I bit into the crust and bit something a little hard. I literally pulled out a numbered stick while the pizza was in my mouth. I called the store, but it was a wrong number listed on Yelp. So I messaged the manager and it's been two days and I still haven't received a reply. No apologies, nada! Im still trying to figure out how the stick ended up in the pizza. I have before and after pics of the pizzas. The numbered sticks are placed on the pizza; I'm guessing to place them in the oven in the order they were ordered. They forgot to remove the stick before they were placed in the oven or after they came out of the oven. The stick cooked in or onto the pizza. Well, the stick almost matched the same color as the cooked pies. If the stick was on top, I sure didn't notice it. A simple apology would be nice! So I've been a HUGE Pieology fan for years. Starting off with the one in Vacaville. Only pizza I get. So when we got one in Yuba City, that was awesome. The first 3-4 times were amazing as always. The last 2 trips though. Not good. Matter fact dreadful. First time about a month ago, wrong order. No toppings. No sauce. Then today. Literally an hour ago. Two thin crust, one deep dish. My sons cheese pizza wasn't even hot. Barely any sauce. Thin slice wasn't even cooked through. How's that possible? It's thin crust. You could see dough. Mine, cold. Thin crust. Cheese wasn't melted almost at all. Barely any basil. Then the deep dish chicken. Chicken was ice cold. Raw dough. Had to put it in the oven to finish cooking. I don't know what happened here, but it's not good. I'll go back when they fix it. Until then I'll make a trip to Sacramento or Vacaville if I want it. Just not Yuba. read more
