To start, we ordered the southern fried green tomatoes, crab stuffed mushrooms, and fried calamari. All really good starters. I was really impressed with the fried green tomatoes. Way better than I expected. For entree, i ordered the blue crab cake dinner. It came with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables (green beans). I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes. We are visiting Tybee island for the day and we just walked in to Pier 16. It's located on the corner and is not hard to miss . It's the perfect mix of cozy and elegant. Tybee Island is adorable and has so many beachside spots to eat from! We were recommended this place by a tour guide and it was perfect. It had vegetarian options, both indoor and outdoor seating, and was only a 5 minute walk from the beach. We shared the tuna tartare tacos and the fried green tomato sandwich with avocado (and my sister got bacon on the side). The tuna tacos were in a fried wanton shell and they were SO good. The fried green tomato sandwich comes with goat cheese on it, which I think makes the entire dish. The service was fast, and it was nice to get a little break from the Georgia heat! read more

Visited for a late dinner and really enjoyed! As an appetizer, I got the raw oysters which weren't my favorite but were still good. The entree and drink made up for it though--the bacon jam scallops and mango mojito were out of this world. The steamed broccoli could have been cooked a bit more but the drink and scallops were SO tasty I can't even take off a star. My waitress was also super sweet and checked in on me often. My wife and I were in Savannah and took a great shuttle to Tybee Island, a small beach town nearby Savannah. My foot was barking at me, so while my wife explored the beach, I got an IPA at Pier 16. The bartender at the outside bar was nice and they had a couple of IPAs on tap. It was a nice and relaxing barstool on a nice day in a beach town. I didn't order any beer, and it was a couple of bucks more than it should have been, but it was a nice respite on a warm day before heading back to Savannah. read more

My dining experience at Pier 16 was a wonderful surprise. I was on Tybee Island for the day and I had just left another restaurant (which will remain nameless) and had the worst experience. Then, I remembered that I researched Pier 16 as an option on Tybee Island as well. So, since I didn't eat anything at the other restaurant, I decided to stop on in to Pier 16 to eat. Me and my mother were sat very quickly and our server (I wish I would have remembered his name) was so attentive and pleasant. He gave us wonderful recommendations. I ended up ordering their Shrimp Tacos and my mother got their Salmon Black & Blue Salad. We also got one order of their Crab and Shrimp Dip to share to start us off. The Crab and Shrimp Dip came out quickly. It was hot and fresh with a good amount of lump Crab and Shrimp in it. The Pita Chips paired well with it. Shortly after that, our entrees came out. The food runner was so attentive, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our entrees. Our server also came by quickly to make sure everything was to our liking. The Shrimp Tacos were so good...especially with that Chipotle Lime Aioli on top. The Shrimp themselves were some of the freshest tasting Shrimp I've ever had in my life. It tasted like they were just pulled from the water fresh...delicious. My mom's plate was clean at the end of our meal. So, needless to say, she enjoyed her Salmon Salad as well. Lol. 10 out of 10, I would highly recommend. There was literally nothing else I think I could have asked for to make our experience better. We went for an early dinner last night and tonight and the service, food, and atmosphere are our favorite so far on Tybee Island!!! Joseph is AMAZING on all levels. When we saw him again today he came over for hugs and spent time with us even though he was not working. Dakota took care of us tonight and she was wonderful. We wouldn't have enjoyed it all without Cathy and Erin's hospitality as well. Such a great spot. Or favorites are the spicy shrimp and strawberry pecan goat cheese salad. We had 2 meals at Pier 16 on our recent girl's trip to Tybee Island. We were seated outside both nights on the covered porch. There is also indoor seating plus rooftop deck seating. I had shrimp & grits the first night and it was excellent! Big shrimp, creamy grits, bacon, tomatoes. It was perfection. The second meal I had baked Parmesan oysters, one of the best shrimp cocktails I have had in ages and a huge slice of yummy chocolate cake which was so delicious I forgot the name!!! Recommend.
