I cant believe i paid $23 for the food that i had received.. the portions had disappointed me for the money. I understand fish might be expensive but there was barely any rice or zucchini to go with it. The fish was also not seasoned what so ever and was overcooked/dry. The calamari portion was also small as well and also overcooked bc calamari has a specific texture but this had no bounce back but instead this had a fish stick texture where it just breaks off too easily. Third time here, figured its time to leave a review. The staff is friendly and nice. The place is clean and organized. There is plenty of seating area available, both inside and outside seating available. Nice decorations and music playing in the background. Their food is okay. The first time I ate here, I enjoyed the food the best. Perhaps it was because it was my first time there, and tasting their food. Or perhaps it was what I ordered, but I cannot recall exactly what I ordered. The second time I went I noticed the food was a little on the dry side, and it was a small serving size. And now this third visit, I realized the food was dry and bland, and yes it was a small serving size once again as well. So the food isn't bad by any means, it's just a little on the dry side. Perhaps its overcooked, or just not juicy enough. I feel as if they could add more spices/seasonings in order to make their food better tasting, and not so bland like. The portion sizes are small for the amount of $$ you pay. But then again, healthy food is more expensive than unhealthy food, so you decide. Not a bad place for fish, and or for a quick lunch meal. For dinner, there are places that offer better tasting food in my opinion. I do appreciate their outdoor seating area, makes for a nice experience on a nice warm sunny day. I do recommend this place, and I will also continue to try out their foods. Extremely disappointed. Went in to try the lobster roll and it came on stale thick bread that I had to pinch off in order to get a decent bite. Not only that we were waiting for 30 min for a clam chowder bowl (I was trying to wait to eat my lobster roll while my husband waited for his food so it did get cold), I went up to ask about it at 15 min and was told the kitchen was backed up which I can understand but then we see two other tables that came in after us getting their clam chowder bowls?!? We finally gave up and we asked for a refund only to find out we never got rung up for the clam chowder bowl. So they just left the order number in front of us for what? Pretty upset as I was super excited for a new spot. And not only that the poor cashier had to come to us and explain and apologize- where was the manager in all of this? the first time i came i really loved it, but the second time i came i really hated it. they basically have the same menu but they changed the recipes. CEVICHE - no longer just shrimp. it's now fish & shrimp and the fish is so gross because it soaks up all the lemon/lime juice and is extremely sour... it also comes in a bowl now and comes with sweet potatoes. wat. who adds sweet potato and lemon/lime juice together...? tbh the sweet potatoes just tasted like they were spoiled. :/ very disappointed. the first time i came, the ceviche was really really good... FISH TACO - used to be battered now they're just fried which is fine because it's "healthier" i guess but they don't add the sauce they used to add with the fish taco. i don't know what sauce it is but it made the taco 5x better... we ended up asking for a side of it and thankfully they had it. service is good. everyone is pleasant. parking sucks unless you get lucky and find a spot nearby. tl;dr this place used to be good but they changed their recipes and it's gross now... read more

Well, we have always loved the Riverside location, and came to enjoy again tonight. After we ate a usual good meal, one of the gals in our group used the restroom. When she came out she was absolutely upset and disgusted, and said the restroom was one of the filthiest she's ever seen, that it had more than a few days of gross stuff all over, that I won't describe. Love this place. My wife and I eat here about every week. The food is always fresh. Sometimes we have bad luck and the fish might be slightly over cooked. Service is not so good but I think the gentleman was new. The clam chowder for me, was horrible, the flavor was not like a traditional Clam chowder. I was very disappointed. It's always clean but don't go in the bathroom. Smells unclean and the sink is not scrubbed; neither are the floors. They really need to do a deep clean! We finally had a chance to try this seafood place out. Boyfee, the puppers and I were sitting in the patio since it was warm out and breezy. Food: very delicious mahi mahi and yellowtail. I loved how the brown rice was seasoned, The yellow tail was grilled nicely and that nice char Mark's gave the fish a great texture. Sides was sweet potato fries and brown rice, Boyfee had the Mahi mahi with regular fries and a salad. Very affordable and our bill came out to about $30.06 Quality of the food was great. Also check in on Yelp and get a free drink! (Cucumber mint tea was So refreshing!) Service: really nice, and they Also brought out a water bowl for our myuto. (Yes a real dog bowl) Any place that is furbaby friendly is a plus for me because that means I'll be returning often. I don't typically eat out, but I would come here maybe once a month or two (I typically eat out only once a month). I always really enjoyed the broccoli slaw and kale salad. Today, it smelled, looked, and tasted like it was a few days old, dropped on the floor, and then put on my plate. I couldn't take more than one bite, and wasted $20, which would have lasted me a few days in groceries. Also, I was the first one in during dinner time, yet 5 people received their food before me, two of whom came in 10 minutes after I ordered. I'm a huge fan of seafood, so when a coworker asked me if I wanted to try a place called Pier 76 Fish Grill, you know I said, "Yes". After dining in and trying the fish tacos and shrimp ceviche, this place is a good choice to satisfy that seafood craving. I really wanted to try some of the grilled fish offerings (Mahi Mahi, Trout, Salmon), unfortunately, the Mahi Mahi is grilled with Bleu cheese bacon (not a fan of blue cheese), the Trout is grilled with honey mustard (I'm allergic to mustard), and the Salmon was grilled with a cucumber tartar (not a fan of tartar sauce). Now, if you read some of my reviews, you'll notice that I'm all about trying things as they are prepared, with very little "customization" by me; however, this also means I have to wait until my next visit to be a bit more adventurous. Anyway, I went with the smoked fish tacos and the shrimp ceviche tostada. I'm unsure what type of fish they use in the tacos, but it was very flaky and had a definite "fish" taste. I didn't taste any smoky flavor associated with anything smoked though, which I think was due to the overpowering tangerine-jalapeno salsa. Don't get me wrong, that salsa makes these tacos taste great, I just think that smoking the fish doesn't add anything to it. The Shrimp Ceviche Tostada was really good. It was bright and definitely citrusy. It wasn't overly wet either, which was nice, as it didn't make the tostada all soggy (which tends to happen at a lot of places that serve ceviche). I will most definitely give this place another shot, and hopefully be able to increase the rating. read more

The first and last time I went I got the fish tacos! While eating my meal I was pleasantly enjoying my food. It tasted amazing and left a happy customer. Only to find out a the next day I had the worst stomach ache. Was left with food poisoning of some sort. This food poisoning or bug stayed in me for 3 months! Have to admit-kind of a connoisseur when it comes to lobster rolls. $19 for a hoagie size roll is the average price these days, so I didn't mind paying that price at all. Aesthetically, the rustic presentation was beautiful. Mounds of lobster overflowing in buttery bread and a bit of nostalgia with the checkered paper liner. I also ordered a cup of clam chowder in case the lobster roll didn't fill me up. The effort was there for both and for the IE, it was reasonably priced. My problem is I was expecting the authenticity of the "lobstah" and "chowdah" and it kind of fell flat with the taste. Food is usually always very well prepared my wife and I ate there about once a week, we trade off between the Pacific Salmon, Redfish I think something like that, occasionally the Fish n Chips and the Atlantic Salmon sides we prefer are the fire roasted corn and rice, also love their sweet potato fries! They have this natural soda there also very good, we don't drink or try very much else, but we recommend this restaurant for fresh sea food if that's something you like. read more

Lookout California Fish Grill because you have some competition. Food is delicious, portion sizes are great. Lots of side dish options. The broccoli slaw is amazing. The black beans are smokey and wholesome. Shrimp tacos are excellent! You get more food here than you would at Fish Grill. Prices are good! The fish in the beer battered fish and chips, is crisp, delicate, and moist, and the tartar served with it is solid. I would definitely recommend this. The clam chowder is decent, a large portion, but overall plain. The oysters should be avoided. With oysters, the brine is everything, it provides the freshness and the flavor profile of where the oysters are sourced, and this is the part you actually taste. The oysters served here are washed in water, and hence, have no brine and are tasteless. The beer selection is OK, with a lot of the contemporary standards, such as Ballast Point, Stone, Firestone, etc. Good for a chain restaurant. Overall, a decent seafood restaurant option. read more

On Tuesdays there are crispy fish tacos are $2 and their sides and draft beer are on happy hour (reduced price) Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 PM. The staff is USUALLY very friendly. I don't know if each location is different but the menu online is not accurate for the Riverside location and some of the menu pictures here on yelp are old. Found another gem in Pier 76 thanks to Yelp! The reviews were so positive on this relatively new place, that we just had to give it a try. I'm definitely glad we did, as it has just become one of my new favorites! We ordered the large clam chowder, wild cod fish and chips, and the fish taco special that came with two and a drink for $5.99. The clam chowder is definitely excellent, having a nice thick consistency with good chunks of potato and clam pieces that are small but flavorful. The large size was perfect for sharing, and comes in a cup that is perfect for taking home any leftover chowder. The fish and chips was as good or better than my past favorites at places like Market Broiler or King's Fish House. The order came with two very large pieces of wild caught battered cod that was moist and mildly flavored. The crispy batter is like a thicker tempura style that is still on the lighter side, and flakes away nicely as you bite into it. The fish obviously comes with an order of chips (fries) which were also good, but fries are almost always pretty good, so no surprises there. Also included with the fish and chips is a broccoli slaw which was definitely different, but in a good way. I'm not a fan of broccoli normally, but this variation on coleslaw was quite good, using super thin sliced raw broccoli in place of the normal cabbage, and dried cherries that added a hint of sweetness. Overall this was an really good meal, and at only $8.95 a really good value as well. My better half ordered the fish tacos and said they were some of the best she's had. They were much bigger than expected, filled with a large bit of fish, red and green cabbage, mandarin oranges, green onions and some kind of house sauce that pulled all the flavors together well well. Her special came with a drink, and we were happy to find they have the Batch Craft Soda brand drinks on tap. If you've never tried their Lemon-Lime, Brown Sugar Root Beer, or Ginger Beer then you're in for a nice treat.
