So this place has a great selection of things like jellies, olives and high end deli stuff. Planning an appetizer event, it would have been nice. They also make sandwiches and even breakfast which we did not try either. We thought we would go back...we just wanted to start the day with coffee and a pastry. They just are not nice, not mean but being that we were there first thing in the morning....a little friendly service would have been appreciated. The croissant was alright but very expensive for what it was. The muffin had a crispy top and dry inside....my husband said it was good but as I pointed out, he likes scones I like muffins....it had the texture of a scone. Then I need a napkin.....and that's where they really earned my ire....really, in a place like Montecito, and paying the prices we were paying, I have to ask at the counter for a napkin. It is not like there are homeless people hanging outside the door waiting to steel their napkins. Price is fair $3.25 for an organic Latte, other place could cost $5 and they don't even use organic ingredients. The place is clean, well organized. They carry many local, handcrafted, organic products like chocolates, pasta sauces, salsas, etc. I think the staff can be more friendly, but again I only go get a coffee, not a dining experience so doesn't matter. read more

Food poisoning alert. This place isn't serving fresh, clean food like a cafe should. Health inspection and strict hygiene must be followed.

There is an upstairs home goods section. Downstairs is a food store of sorts, plus a women's clothing store and a wine bistro. So it is a mini department store in Montecito. Brought here by a friend who lives in the area and we got the Quinoa salad for lunch. It was OK. Santa Barbara area is a food desert like San Luis Obispo and San Simeon areas. But it is a charming little store with much to offer if you can afford the price. read more

Like almost everything in Montecito it's overrated, overpriced and bland. Millionaires taste. Ordered a sandwich and coffee for close to $30 because I'm a fool that's exhausting every restaurant in the tourist trap I call home. Maybe this time it would surprise, but nah. We came in on a Thursday early evening, and no one would wait on us..there were 5 people working but they just ignored us..no greeting nothing, then we asked if we could receive service and one lady in the front end said "just wait". She was very rude with a rude tone..and the complete customer experience is the worst based on my 25 years in Santa Barbara. I believe this is reverse racism. Considering we're Caucasian and Jewish. With 4-5 workers in the deli it would of been easy to complete service, but it's obvious the personnel dislikes their job and customers, I'm 72 years old and have never witnessed such disrespect and discrimination. We will never be back and are boycotting all friends snd relatives to never come back. Overpriced!! Because they have such poor ingredients in their food! Processed meats and cheese in sandwiches made with cheap white toast bread. Wraps are horrid and smell like they are not fresh. The rice is mush and way too much of that cheese in there. I tried it twice because I thought it's always possible to get one bad meal. But yeah... second time was just as bad. They have an amazing spot there and this could be something really special. A few upgrades in quality of ingredients used and it could be great! The shop is very cute and the bathrooms are very clean. Really loved the atmosphere of the place and their deli food is delicious. They really had a nice variety of things to buy, however, everything is a little pricey so beware. The staff behind the counter aren't super attentive so if you want something you need to make yourself noticed. Pierre Lafond is one of my boyfriend's local spots for coffee and sandwiches. His sister even worked there for a while. We went with a couple friends one day for a casual lunch, and it was more expensive than I expected, but food-wise pretty solid. The place is kind of like a small scale Gelson's or Whole Foods, where you can get food and drink as well as a limited selection of produce and things like picnic baskets and artisan chocolates. The deli area is in the middle, and you order at a counter and pay at a register. The staff is friendly all around. My boyfriend and one of our friends are pathologically picky eaters, and they ordered grilled cheese sandwiches off the kid's menu for under $4. No one on staff so much as commented. My hungrier friend and I split the Summerland and the Kobe burger. The Summerland came with roasted turkey, brie, whole grain mustard, and cranberry chutney on toasted brioche. The sandwich was a bit too sweet and the amount of brie should have been halved, but it was still decent. The Kobe burger was quite good, with roasted portobellos, balsamic marinated onions, white cheddar, and garlic aioli on a toasted bun. The meat was pretty good and juicy, formed into an irregularly shaped patty. Portobellos and balsamic onions are such a hack, but you can't argue with tasty results. The Summerland was $13 and the burger was $15, making Pierre Lafond pretty pricy for such a casual place. Still, the food was definitely good and I'd consider coming back. The place has a lovely outdoor patio with plentiful seating, and we enjoyed a relaxing meal in beautiful Santa Barbara weather that I would not mind repeating. read more

Any time I'm in the area I absolutely must stop at this market for a Farm Cake. It's like this muffin / cupcake that's rich in chocolate chips and cream cheese. Probably not the best description but they are amazing! The coffee bar and staff are also great. I love looking into the clothing shop that's connected to the market too. They have the cutest clothes and jewelry. I believe it's called Pierre La Fond. I haven't actually tried any of the other food, but the Farm Cake alone is enough to make a stop. read more

What a pretentious place full of snotty yuppies. The food is meh.,, I had vegan polenta and as I was cutting it, found 2 hairs in it (which is disgusting). The cookie I got tasted stale. Yes they are next door to one another and yes Pierre owns them both. But one is a gourmet deli...like order your food, pay at a register, and then carry your food to sit outside. There are two small eating areas inside as well. They have everything. Sandwiches, hot foods, salad bar, breakfast, pastries, coffee bar, fresh juice and smoothies, deserts, candy, beer, odd and unusual drinks, and a fantastic selection of wine. The food is reliably good. It is made in house. You can see them cooking it from scratch in there. I've eaten about everything here and I'm pleased. It does seem like they don't warm up the deli case items enough sometimes. The problem? The staff sucks. They just don't give a crap. They never smile. Speak about you in Spanish behind your back. I know, but they don't think that I speak Spanish. And the lady who manages the place is an absolute grouch....that's the nicest word that I could use for her. Pierre's is a nice neighborhood spot with a selection of fine imported treats, primarily French. They have a pretty patio with nice shade and it's a good place to relax and grab a bite. They also have wifi. I have tried the chicken enchilada and the turkey sandwich. Both were ok but probably overpriced. They're good but not crazy delicious.
