My sister arrived first and grabbed a table (outdoor seating only ) . It was the weekend so parking was easy , parked about a half a block away . You place your order , pay and then they call your name and you receive your food from the window (I thought this was so cool ) . I ordered the Chicken Biscuit ,my mom ordered the biscuit & gravy , my sister ordered the fried chicken box, we also had Mac n cheese and fries and we all got dessert , banana cream pie , sour cherry pie and donuts . The chicken biscuit I ordered was insanely delicious , the honey butter sauce they use mixed with the hot sauce is out of this world , everyone really enjoyed the food . Service was super chill and friendly, the person serving us was very helpful and even asked the kitchen a question I had about a dish. I have been sleeping on this spot. Wow! Their chicken is perfectly juicy, crunchy and flavorful and was smothered in saucy melty goodness with sauce. That bite of chicken with the glazed flakey, buttery biscuit is everything I want out of a chicken biscuit. I also opted to order a side of baked beans, which were also very delicious. A great mix of sweet and savory. You can't come here and NOT get a pie, so I took home a slice of pumpkin pie and I'm so glad I did. One of the best pieces of pie I've ever had. Had seen this place featured on so many must try guides and so had to stop in. Maybe it was the cold weather, or the fact we had to wait an hour when we were told the wait was 20 minutes, but it was a pretty underwhelming experience. The outside seating has a couple of heat lamps scattered in between tables-not nearly enough to warm the eating space, while the sliding door has a nasty habit of opening from the wind, in addition to whenever servers come in, putting a timer on how fast you eat your meal before it gets cold. The servers were extremely polite and friendly and apologetic but the setup was just poor. The food itself- the chicken was a bit on the dry side, and while the shell was wonderfully crispy and seasoned, it didn't translate to the whole entity as a dish. The hush puppies were also a bit stale tasting (or cold?), and the beans were just ok. Fried catfish was decent good seasoning, crispy, and savory flaky fish. The honey butter and biscuits were fantastic, as was the donut we got on the side while waiting. I would buy a few of those honey butter jars if I could. We were super excited for this restaurant, especially since it was featured in Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives". Chicken & Waffles: The wing was very delicious and moist, but the breast meat was a little dry. The waffle was good and the cinnamon butter and blueberry compote were excellent additions. Chicken Biscuit: This was super filling despite the size. Very delicious overall, but a little disappointed that the hot sauce was just buffalo. It also comes with honey butter, but you can't taste the sweetness at all. We recommend pouring a bit of the maple syrup found on the tables for a sweet-tangy bite. Superbowl: This was the best bang for our buck! For $18, you can try three sides and a choice of biscuit or cornbread, which is great for customers to sample their extensive sides menu. We got the mac n' cheese, coleslaw, fried pickles, and cornbread. The mac n' cheese was good, but very basic and not as flavorful as you would expect from a southern restaurant. The coleslaw was absolutely terrible; we had never seen coleslaw with vegetables that were grinded/grated, and it was too sour. It was so bad that we had to ask our waitress to swap it with another side. Instead, we got the collard greens, which is a must-try. This was by far the best dish from our meal. It comes with a bit of meat on top, which leaves a nice, smoky flavor, and the greens themselves are silky like Korean seaweed. The fried pickles were great, but a thicker breading would've made it much better. The cornbread was just simple and standard. The lemonade was a bit too sour, even for sour-lovers. The arnold palmer was great but tastes exactly like Arizona Arnold Palmer. The place itself is pretty small, but we were able to get seated right away on a Saturday night. It's still pretty busy, as there was a steady stream of delivery service drivers going in and out of the restaurant. My roomie and I came here Halloween night for dinner. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I had the fried chicken box and chose the iceberg salad as my side, in addition to the grape lemonade I ordered as my drink. My roomie had the chicken sandwich and a side of fries. The outdoor seating area isn't the best unfortunately, plus the service isn't as existent as I would like. I couldn't tell if that was pandemic related or not. However, the chicken is absolutely fantastic! It is perfectly salty, and very crispy. The biscuit is a little hard on the outside, but makes up for it by being super fluffy and soft on the inside. One of my favorite things that I had that night was the beverage I ordered surprisingly. It was very unique. My salad was pretty standard. My roomie said that her sandwich was also delicious, as well as the fries she ordered as a side. Although a little pricey, I would still like to return because the chicken is good, and I want to try one of their slices of pie. Had this place strongly recommended to me by multiple people, and it's right next to my place so I had to try it. It did not disappoint! The most notable thing in my opinion was the way the amount of space that was available. That said, don't get me wrong - make a reservation. The reason I say that is because we had a reservation at a very busy brunch time (Sunday at 11:30) and we just knew that we'd be outside (in winter). But to our surprise there's an entire (indoor) space in the back of the restaurant! We also overheard some people without reservations waiting for inside space as well and they got times under 1 hour which still sounds rough but for a brunch reservation indoors in Williamsburg at a well known restaurant that's not bad at all. Food was good, maybe slightly overhyped but still would recommend trying. Service was excellent - my voice was going out so the waiter was able to make me a hot drink that wasn't on the menu to help out. It didn't work, but I am grateful for the effort lol. In times like these, I'm trying my hardest to support local businesses; my heart goes out to all these bars, restaurants, etc that have had to shut their doors or dramatically reconfigure their business model because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pies-n-Thighs has been sitting in my bookmarks for ages, so when my brother discovered they are open and offering pickup during the pandemic we decided to head to Brooklyn to pick up dinner. PnT specializes in Southern food; the menu contains a number of chicken dishes as well as breakfast/brunch selections and pies. We decided to pick up a number of items: chicken pot pie, burnt edges baked beans, roasted broccoli salad, hush puppies, chicken biscuit sandwiches, a chicken box. Everything was really good - the pot pie had big chunks of chicken and was full of flavor, the fried chicken was crispy with lots of meat, and the biscuits were massive. The sides were also really tasty - the mac and cheese wasn't too heavy and the burnt edges really added something special to the beans. I also decided to get a slice of sour cherry pie for dessert which was really delicious. We were able to place an order in advance and it was ready right when we scheduled it. Overall, I was impressed with PnT - while I'm not the biggest fan of Southern cuisine, their food is delicious. Once everything is back up and running, I would definitely visit for brunch. read more

For brunch I got the Hippie Banjo with bacon and gosh I devoured the whole thing! The bacon was crispy, the bread gorgeously toasted and buttery. I've always heard that I needed to visit as a result of my fried chicken addiction and I've had this place bookmarked for years. Crunchy exterior, juicy meat underneath, just perfect. No it doesn't have a honey spiced crust or parmesan herb, or soy garlic or Thai chili or hot buffalo,..... Nope this is just great original fried chicken done better than right, not a second too long in the fryer. Get the fried chicken with waffles or biscuit. Both options are great. Them waffles with the apple maple syrup are great and I don't even like waffles. Get the three piece Chicken box if you're a hungry. Those hush puppies are great too. Just a tad weird with a healthy ladle of tarter sauce on top but great nonetheless. I'll be back sooner rather than later for sure, even if I have to eat dinner at 5:30pm. read more
