This is our favorite breakfast spot in cannon beach when you factor in portion sizes, affordability, convenience (I.e takeout) & location. This is what $70 looks like (before tip). Plenty to feed our family. If you want a little bit of everything this is what we order/share: Eggs Benny Ham FULL with hashbrowns, Taco Omelette with Pancakes, Swedish pancakes, #3 kids meal (French toast, egg whites and a slice of bacon), 1 side order of sausage + 1 side of hashbrowns. It was all delicious, Swedish pancakes a little overcooked but that didn't stop my husband from devouring. I preferred this hollandaise sauce over the one we tried at Lazy Susan down the street. With takeout they will also include pancake syrup, butter, ketchup, the fruit compotes, taco omelette toppings (salsa + sour cream) and silverware. French Toast was lacking flavor, masked by the strawberry compote it was a bearable but not enjoyable part of my meal. I ordered a pair of over medium eggs that came as ordered but were presented on a separate plate making everything seem overwhelming and showed a low effort to present a dish in a provocative manner My Biscuits and Gravy was the worst part of my dish and I couldn't even finish them, they lacked any seasoning and the biscuits were likely storebought pillsbughry dough. This was a sad experience for me and my mother, as Pig n' Pancake in Lincoln City has always been one of our favorite places to eat. The cooks here have gotten lazy and should take a hint from Lincoln City's food and presentation, as well as the customer service. We were surprised at how empty the parking lot was when we arrived on a Saturday late morning for breakfast. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted at the door and shown to our table. Immediately, someone brought us coffee and water. The service was exceptional, fast, and friendly. The food was wonderful! I honestly am not sure why they have three stars. Staying for the week with family. Came here 2x in 1 week. 1st time, table of 5, no wait. Jenny was a great waitress, but you can tell she was busy. Kept our coffee full (which was important to me) I am a picky eater... ordered biscuits and gravy. Not as good as my mom's home made biscuits and gravy, but wasnt too bad. I couldn't eat the bacon (and i bought sides of it), it was so fatty and uncooked, ordered sausage.. wasnt too bad. 2nd visit: different waitress. Food was served quickly and looked appeasing. My waffle was delicious from the fist bite it was the lightest waffle I have ever tasted. If it didn't have strawberry compote on it , it would have floated. ( well maybe) My wife also was en dubious of her pigs in a blanket. Both dishes were from scratch and it made the difference. The food and service was horrible. We stood at the entry for about 10 minutes before we were seated, mind you, there was not anyone in front of us or behind us. We sat for over 20 minutes without being acknowledged, eventually we asked an employee if someone could find our waitress. We thought the prices were too high for the quality of food (had two cups of coffee, crab benny, chicken fried steak scramble with a side of gravy ~$60). The food was mediocre at best. Ignore all the negative reviews, this place is consistently fantastic for exactly what it is - no frills diner food. This might tie into the nostalgia I have coming here since I was a kid, but I've always had a great experience here. The waiters are always friendly, some even extraordinarily kind and patient (especially with kids), and the food is always on point. The pancakes are a must - arguably the best I've had, their omelettes are great, and they also have a slept on lunch menu, which includes some great clam chowder and the Mr. pig's burger, which is a personal favorite. The bang for your buck with portions here is unmatched for Cannon Beach prices and definitely adds brownie points to the rating. For higher end breakfast I'd say try Lazy Susan on Hemlock, but if you want a simply delicious meal for a good price I'd always recommend this place with no hesitation. read more

I have to say up top my 4 stars has to do more with nostalgia for a time in my life than the actual food. Now there is nothing wrong with the food. It is your straight up average diner breakfast fare. You have tasted it in a million places. I felt like I took a Time Machine back to the 80's when I entered the Cannon Beach Pig 'N Pancake. The soundtrack was straight up 80's Top 40 playlist with restaurant decor to match. This was reminiscent of countless East Coast diner breakfasts of my youth, except now I was with the Spouse on the other side of the country. In keeping with the Back to the Future vibe, I ordered my standard 80's diner breakfast: Ham and Cheese Omelette (haven't ordered one in years). Spouse got his typical classic brekky with eggs/meat/toast and we got an order of potato pancakes like we do. Service was pro-diner style, allowing for conversation tinged with longing for a time when you could have your diner breakfast and no one could track you down on a cell phone, because no one had them except people who could afford a 2 lb $4,000 version. read more

I would have given 5 star for the waitress we had Aly, she was so accommodating. However the manager Jenny was very rude. We had a baby with us that was asleep in her mom's arms. The manager was not willing to give us the booth to let her lay on it with no explanation. Just, "No you cannot." With an attitude. I had to ask what the problem was. She said, "The booth area is my area and it's to far from the other tables I'm serving." So basically she wasn't willing to walk ten extra feet to serve us for HER convenience. Then waitress Aly moved us to another area for a booth and was very kind and an amazing server. Because of Aly, we stayed. Pig'N Pancake is the Cannon Beach take on a Diner. The menu is extensive, something for everyone, especially families if everyone tends to want different items. If you prefer eggs, you can get omelettes, scrambles, fried, poached, over easy, Benedict - they offer them all. My absolute favorite is the Crab Benedict and I ask for the hollandaise on the side. There is quite a lot of crab and at a very reasonable price. Delicious! Of course there are pancakes - buttermilk, silver dollar size, buckwheat, gluten-free, banana pancakes and crepes. All delicious! If you order a pancake that comes with a topping, be forewarned they are very sweet and plentiful. I always get the toppings on the side, including the butter. I tend to go for the buckwheat Pancakes with butter and syrup on the side since they are less sweet and have more of a bite to them. Sooo good! Since this is one of a few places that make them, we usually get an order for the table. They also serve lunch and dinner, and those menus are also extensive, but I have never eaten anything but breakfast here. The atmosphere is super casual, great for families. It's amazing how many tables they fit inside; it's deceiving. Since it's a popular spot, it gets really crowded on weekends during the obvious peak hours, so plan accordingly. Especially during Covid when tables are further apart and less diners are allowed inside. Since the place is always bustling, the service can sometimes feel rushed or less attentive. We're being generous with a 2 rating. My omelet was hot but my wife's eggs were room temperature. Our hash browns were greasy and rancid. We couldn't tell how well the kitchen was staffed. The dining area had two waitstaff at 10:30 on a Wednesday morning. When we suggested they advise the kitchen about the hash browns, they glared at me. Yes, staffing issues abound. Wages are up. A group of us ladies (6) stopped into the Pig for breakfast before a day of shopping in Cannon Beach. Free parking can be found in the parking lot as well as on the street. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs were easily and accurately split. During our visit, we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The Pig was bustling. Parking was scarce. Upon entrance, the Pig offers a small gift shop area. The entrance is also where tabs are paid. Shopping + payments = congestion. The Pig doesn't offer any type of alcohol so water it was. The plus side to having to drink water is a lower tab. I'd mush prefer a Bloody Mary though. Since I'm not a real breakfast person, I was relived to know that I could order lunch menu items during breakfast hours. My bestie and I shared the Crispy Chicken Jalapeno Wrap for $10.95: chicken tenders, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, jalapenos, pepper Jack cheese and chipotle mayo. We opted for the soup as our side (Clam Chowder). We both enjoyed our meal choice. The wrap was flavorful with the perfect amount of heat. The Clam Chowder was hot in temperature, flavorful and chocked full of potatoes and clams. Our server was efficient. On top that, it wasn't even hot out and the a/c was blasting (which might explain the lukewarm food). Even the servers were wearing their hoodies. I wouldn't come back to Pig n Pancake. The details: the sourdough pancakes were the one salvageable thing. My party ordered the buckwheat pancakes and ham, sourdough pancakes with chicken kielbasa, and a crab eggs Benedict. The food wasn't piping hot - it felt like it had sat on the counter for a while before they brought it (in the chilly a/c). The portion of chicken kielbasa was small for the price of the meal. The English muffin in the eggs Benedict was cold, kinda stale - they definitely didn't give it the toasting it needed. The Benedict sauce was basically a yellow gravy, definitely not hollandaise sauce. I'd be less annoyed if the food had been cheaper, say, in the $7-9 a meal range. If the price matched the quality, it would have been 3 stars, however bumping this down to 2 stars due to the low quality for the higher price, as well as the frigid environment. read more

Seems like it sat here for a decade for how solid it is. At least the ham and cheese omelette was edible. The waiter (Rhonda) very slickly placed the check while eating - did not bother to check up on us and how the food tasted. We were sat. at a table by a woman named Monica. She sat us in a booth that was right by the bathroom and right by a little baby. So we were not sure where the bad smell was coming from but I asked Monica to move us and she said that there was no tables available! Although I saw plenty and she said those were 4 tops only! I asked, what about those chairs at the bar? I could see were totally open so I told her I was going to go sit there, she didn't help us change tables. Monica you should at least comb your hair before coming to work... We ordered the crab Benedict that was made with Tillamook cheddar cheese and it was absolutely delicious, it was served with my choice of side which was fruit and it was perfect. We've been to a few Pig'N Pancakes and this was the next one conveniently located by Cannon Beach. Pulling in parking is definitely difficult, spaces are few and small. After being seated it took an extra long time to get our order in. We got waffles, eggs, and bacon with hot chocolate. The food was actually below par for Pig'N Pancake. The service was not too impressive as the waitress forgot our refills and never actually came to check on us. The ambiance was the typical environment. Stopped by Pig N Pancake for brunch before driving to Portland from Cannon Beach. Brunch on a Thursday wasn't so bad as we were able to find parking and get seated immediately. The vibe: it has your typical breakfast diner feel to it with booth seating and jams+honey, coffee condiments on the table. Service: our server was nice, prompt and attentive in refilling our coffee cups. Food: food was good, very filling and tasty. Servings were quite big too. We ordered the following: chicken fried steak, Dungeness crab benny and crab omelette. For the two crab dishes, you can taste the crab and I was happy they didn't scrimp on em too. The omelette was a little under seasoned but it was fluffy and had a nice texture. Coffee was your typical diner coffee -- it was okay. I wasn't able to try the chicken but my brother in law finished his and he enjoyed it. I believe they have other branches in Oregon if this branch in Cannon beach is packed. Didn't expect much from Pig N Pancake based on reviews but I'm glad I was out voted(2-1) this morning because this is the best meal we have had so far in Cannon Beach. They are not pet friendly so we phoned in our breakfast order. 15mins later we were enjoying our freshly cooked meal. We had a Taco omelette, a 2x4 and a chicken fried steak skillet with gravy on the side. We all loved our food especially the chicken fried steak skillet. Their gravy was delicious! I could probably slather it on cardboard and it will still taste good. Both the omelette and skillet came with a side(hash browns for us) and a choice of toast. Their servings are huge and their pricing is surprisingly affordable($36+tip) considering their location. We will definitely order/eat here again. read more
