Quirk? Yes, this gem has quirk in spades! A completely off the wall place with character, interest, and really, really good food from the truck you pass on your way in. If you've not been before it might be a little intimidating to walk in because it looks nothing like any eating establishment I've ever visited. We were all happy we made the trip (even the 15yo loved it). On approach you'll see the food truck with some creative people inside developing some oh so tasty flavors. We noticed a bunch of grills and a fire pit off to the side walking in and out. The pignic area is for people's to being their own or buy inside and grill it outisde. This could be fun...but seriously I'd take anything off the menu ! They do sell things you can buy there and grill yourself for the fun of it. That little kitchen out front puts out some really tasty food. The tri tip was just smoked to perfection: tender and juicy and oh so flavorful. All the shrimp we had were perfectly cooked and gone all too quickly! The burger was full of umami - we'll be trying a few different flavor combos in the visits to come. As we promised- came back for the Ramen and had a tritip sando. To go. Got them home- and the Ramen was as amazing as ever--- only after eating the tritip sandwich we realized it would have been more amazing at the restaurant- and sipping it into the Ramen- would be a game changer! I recommend offering some Ramen juices to dip the sandwich in for anyone that loves tritip. Sandwich was very good- but better there. Great spot for food and a drink! Pignic has the most casual atmosphere and everyone is friendly. It's just...chill. The menu isn't huge but the options are varied. I went with the tatchos and am glad I did. How can you go wrong with tater tots and cheese?? Spoiler alert - you can't. I can see Pignic being an awesome spot in the summer. I have not tried the food at Pignic yet, or many drinks. I honestly go for the live music. I have seen many musicians play live there. Its a small area for them to perform, but there is still space to dance. The audience greatly enjoys the music. There is an open mic on Tuesday nights. From time to time, there are special events. One of them is their Spaghetti Western nights. A musician will play live, you get a spaghetti dinner, and watch a western! All free. This is usually in the Fall months. read more

They have a fire pit outside which is super fun at night! They have a food truck outside which I've never seen being used but it's probably because we haven't been there on the weekend. Pignic is a great hidden gem neighborhood bar near midtown. It's open everyday until midnight (yes even on Monday's) and until 1:30am on weekends. I went for a cocktail on a Monday night and was in the mood for a whiskey cocktail. Our bartender, Kyle, recommended campfire sour. I agreed. And it turned out to be a one of the best cocktails I have had! My friend ordered a Paloma and even hers was great. We hopped into Pignic Pub on a Monday night, had I done my homework, I would have known they don't have food on Monday and Tuesdays, but we stayed to sample some of their vast beer tap list. We were then treated to a tour of the facility by the bar tender. The themed rooms upstairs are incredible and look forward to renting one out when we can have more than 6 people join us. The entire operation is very impressive and I can't wait to try out their food, later this week maybe! I will amend my review once I can try the food (hopefully to five stars!). I cannot say enough good things about Pignic. 16 days after my first review, my amazing wonderful little boy took his own life. I reached out to the Facebook to see if they would make the brisket sliders since they are off menu. My son raved about them for days after. The owner personally replied the same day, and they not only remembered my son, but were sad for his loss. They didn't just make brisket sliders, they made a vegan slider for me too. They catered the celebration of life and I could not have asked for better food. I knew when I met the owner that night that he was someone who truly loved and respected food, the same way my son did. I'm so grateful I had that night with my boy at Pignic. I'm happy I got to watch him destroy all of that food, and not get a single drop on his white t shirt. I loved watching the sparkle in his eye as he took note of the owners unspoken challenge that he wouldn't be able to eat all of the food. Thank you, for making food good enough to bond over. I appreciate you more than you know. Stopped in last night for Yelps tasting event with my 14 year old. He ate both plates plus an order of brisket sliders. He said the sliders were very good and really flavorful. He loved the burger, but said it didn't compare to the brisket. However, we were placed inside and it felt very uncomfortable to have so many people walk right by our table. Let me start off by saying that I would actually be giving this place a 4.5 star rating, if that was possible. I honestly think this is in my top 5 nightlife spots in Reno. This was a great way for my friends and I to end the evening after eating in the downtown area. Drinks (4.5/5) I ordered the Cool Runnings. It had lime and a mixture of tropical light flavors. Definitely would recommend this as a summer drink, because it makes you feel like your on the beach. It was not overly strong, which I appreciated. I am also an ice fanatic, don't ask me why, but I felt that really added to the cocktail. I will say that the drink is relatively small, but is understandable as it is more for sipping. For $12, it's not a horrible price point for this type of cocktail quality. Service (4/5) The bartender was very nice. She made small chit chat to explain the band logo on her mask. She talked about how they used to have live music at their location, so I will have to check that out once it returns. The busser was a little too persistent about checking if they could take the drinks from the table. All-in-all, decent service. Ambience/Environment (5/5) The concept for this place is awesome. It basically is a house. You feel like you are at a house party in college again! The music variety is great. Lighting is relaxing. They have heat lamps outside. It's fun to explore all the different parts of the house. This is a really unique experience to check out. My friends all really enjoyed their beverages too. A watering hole, a backyard grill out area, a food truck serving up awesome grub, this place has it all. The building was a home at one point and is now turned into a properly dim lit, kind of man cave-like, comfortable space that serves up beer, spirits, and now food with the addition of the Pigshack. The two story house also hosts a bar upstairs that serves beer from Revision Brewing. Each room upstairs is a cool, comfortable sitting space, which I can only imagine is packed with people on the weekend. Downstairs is the main bar and a gaming table, with more various seating areas. There is a nice large patio deck out back and a row of grills for the folks that want to do some of their own grilling. This would be a great space for someone living in a place where grilling isn't feasible, but wanted to do their own. The newest addition to this outdoor space is the food truck Pigshack, serving up some tasty meats and sides to go with all those great beers on tap. We tried the masa lunch plate which included Cuban pork with a white Alabama bbq sauce. It came with a side of rice and beans, a potato pancake, and roll with some jalapeño honey butter. Everything was delicious, but the pork with white sauce just blew me away. I'm already craving it again! I also tried a bite of my sisters burger and that was awesome as well. Was a great experience at yelp event... A tasting tray was available. I ordered a shirley temple (it was purple with a grapey taste)... my favorite was the Cuban Fried Pork and Rice. Great complimentary flavors. The Burger with bacon jam was curious but more addicting to eat with every bite... and i think the last one was a cajun shrimp carsar salad... each bite had a suprise. Which kept us guessing in the red lighting what is that curious bite we came to the conclusion we thought it was the Peccarino... then the jalepeno butter was so good... I've been doing some long training hikes lately and have found myself craving some good grub to reward myself after. This week, my husband and I chose Pignic! Their food truck on site puts out seriously tasty treats and I rarely feel offended by my tab at the end of my dine in or drinking experience. The owner was behind the bar and he was good to serve us and provided some interesting beer options when my husband inquired. My husband discovered an old school Big Buck Hunter machine that was on Freeplay and the owner explained how he came to own it, it was quite a story and according to him it will remain on free play. This experience checked the box entirely of what I was looking for and we were able to conveniently grocery shop for the week across the street at the Co-op once we were done. With the global pandemic of COVID-19, it really limits the dining options in the Reno area. My sister and I were Jonesing for some BBQ after a long road trip to / from Yuba City, CA. I'm only visiting therefore not familiar with their menu. The hostess / bar keep / server behind the bar was so gracious in the young, hip-hop kinda way. She coaxed me into creating my own order. It's a super cool house built in 1916 that they've turned into no other sort of pub you've ever been to. Their kitchen is actually a food truck. I don't eat pork, (I know!) so we had the tachos with chicken and it seemed like a weird concoction, but was really good. The specialty drinks were very smooth and went down easily. Kyle tended to us after the event and was very nice, very attentive despite having to put up with a lot of saucy pants earlier from our group. Definitely recommend. read more
