The food was ok, but we went inside to eat and there was so much garbage on the floor. 1/4 of dust on everything. Just felt so dirty that I won't be going inside ever again. And the time we went there was nobody inside just the staff hanging out when maybe just maybe they could be cleaning the nasty dining area. Things to look at on top of the a/c, window ledges, gum ball machine, bathrooms, floors, and much much more. Maybe the owner should come in and get the younger generation to step it up. And show them how to take their job more seriously. Would hate the health dept to come in and see the way it was. So I would say don't eat there until they get their act together. Because we love supporting local businesses. But this place won't see a dime of my money. And unfortunately, while I was speaking to my friends about this experience that I had, they said yes, the place has definitely gone downhill. read more

I would like to give this place more stars but the inside of the sitting area... I don't think it has been mopped or swept since they opened the place back in the 60's. I really enjoyed the burgers are made of fresh beef and the buns toasted. The fries are not fresh cut but not bad for pre-made frozen fried. The fry sauce is okay but the relish mixed into the sauce is a little dominant. The ranch is awesome and would suggest that over the fry sauce. We have always used the drive through at PDI (for years). Yesterday, the line was pretty long so we went in. Bad move. Extremely dirty restaurant. I did see a guy come out and wipe off a table (thank you), but the floor was pretty gross for a food establishment & a few flies were digging the place as well. As someone else mentioned, the reason that the drive through was long was because the service is pretty slow. Quite frankly, drive thrus shouldn't be drive thrus unless they are fast. I guess that would mean doing a MacDonald's kind of thing where some of the food is premade- so that'd affect the quality. But it's just super slow. The food was pretty decent and not expensive (2 burgers and fries to go). But one end of my top hamburger bun was so soggy that I was able to wipe it off with my finger. Basically, water logged. Sorry, but that was pretty gross. I would probably go back because the food tasted pretty good (in spite of the gross bun), but I wouldn't go in and they'd need to get set up to be quicker at the window. 100% Trading on pure Nostalgia. This place has been around for a very long time and I am 100 percent certain that the 5 star reviews are coming from that place. They trade on the memory of being a kid and going to the local Drive Thru when such things were a big deal. We got Breaded Mushrooms, Fries, Onion Rings to try. They were greasy and limp and you could taste that they were fried in a lesser quality oil and / or the oil hadn't been changed in a timely manner, because of the bitter after taste. I got a quarter pound bacon cheeseburger even though I ordered a half pound. The meat was pressed so thin it was probably an eighth of a pound. The bacon was soft and chewy not crisp and very lacking in flavor. The tomato was so thin that I could see it, but couldn't taste it. Fish and Chips, standard greasy fare. Literally dripping with Oil. No flavor. Just bad oil and salt. That is the flavor profile. I am also 100 percent certain that this was frozen Cod. I mean, really? In Washington State we are being subjected to frozen?!? Also the Tartar sauce tastes like Mayo with sweet pickles (very few of them), not even a hint of cream of tartar which is why the sauce is called 'tartar' sauce or garlic as one would expect. I want to say, for the record, I wanted to really like this place. I am a big fan of patronizing local establishments and keeping the little guys going, but not at this expense. 60$ worth is a lot to throw away for a family these days. I wish I had never gone. I would still be driving by marveling at the line that snakes into the street sometimes, thinking to myself, that must really be good. Best burger and shake for the price around in my opinion. I will keep this review simple. Shakes 5/5 Burgers 5/5 Service 3/5. They are a bit slow but it's fresh and I respect that they hire high schoolers giving kids a chance to get out there and get work experience. You will find that a lot of the bad reviews here state it took forever. Just understand that if you go there it will take longer than what you usually wait at a big burger chain. That's how it has ALWAYS been. I promise you it's worth it. A little secret is to call your order in when you are15 out. By the time you get there your order is ready. If you are in the area skip the big chain burger restaurants and support your local community. Your taste buds will thank you. read more

I've passed this place a million times when I used to ride a lot on the Centennial Trail and have always wanted to give it a try. I always thought the idea of drive-through restaurants like this were kind of cool--probably from all the movies I watched growing up. Price wise I'd say it's pretty fair. The total for three cheese burgers, two fries, onion rings, a burrito, and some sort of ice cream dessert came out to be maybe $36. Not too bad considering a BigMac meal is like $9 plus tax. As far as quality goes, that wasn't bad either. Everything was your standard burger joint type of thing like sesame seed buns, shredded iceberg lettuce, and probably a lot of frozen items. Not bad at all, but don't expect to get a John Howie quality burger here. This would be a 3.5 or maybe even a 4 star, but a few things that made our first experience not the best: the line situation, the wait, and the QC of my son's Jr bacon burger. If you come here for the first time while it's busy, you're going to do something wrong and I'm sure a local pro will get irritated by you. The line snakes around the parking lot, generally blocks one of the entrances/exits, overflows into a neighboring business's parking lot, and making the sharp u-turn to the speaker box can be problematic for bad drivers and/or big vehicles. The wait from order to pickup wasn't bad. The wait in line to order being about 7 cars back was more than 20 mins though. Honestly the two things above are mostly understandable, but the thing that made my first visit to this place was my son's burger. There was an ungodly amount of yellow mustard in it that was oozing out from everywhere. I ended up wiping the majority of it off, but of course that wiped off all the other stuff, which just made another mess. Will I eat here again? Maybe. If I were with only adults, I'd probably just stick with the catfish sandwich at Andy's though. read more

They have room for only one car to wait while another car is ordering, and barely enough room for a few cars to park while someone goes inside. It's been a running joke in downtown Snohomish for years that this place will always have a line that goes out to the intersection, maybe worse. But it's too late to move the drive-through window now. It's been around forever, and the locals crave it and usually say something about how they would have gotten it the other day but they didn't feel like dealing with the line. It's just always too busy, because there's nowhere to put the cars--so it seems busier than it is. It IS good, though. The menu is short and sweet--burgers and sides, shakes, some alternatives to burgers like dogs and chicken strips and such. Prices are good. A little more than the chains, but the food is 3x as good as the chains for just a little more money. The bacon cheeseburger is somewhere between fast food and something a home cook would make with supermarket ingredients. The bun and veg seem like what you would get at the market--they're fresh and the flavor's good. You get the usual condiments and the bacon, cheese, and ground chuck are all good quality. The onion rings are definitely not made in house and they were very slightly overcooked, but still super tasty and I ate every one. Somebody needs to spin this building 180 degrees so the cars can line up around the back, but other than that, if you have any kind of love for the mom and pop burger joints around you, you gotta check this place out at least once. It's a worthy addition to a nice easy drive, and it hits the spot. read more

They are short staffed and don't even care to say hi whether you're inside trying to order, or in the drive thru. The service was awful, they never called our number.. the food sat there and finally we had to go inquire and they continued to wait on a few more customers, after we said we were there to check on our order. Then they glanced and realized our order had been ready for sometime. The second and biggest issue is that the place is absolutely filthy!!! We have not experienced anything like this! Plenty of employees and the tables and benches are dirty, garbage over flowing inside with trays stacked with garbage. Dust covered the air conditioner along with filthy floors etc... at one point we saw an employee overflow a milkshake cup and she reached into a bucket on the floor and grabbed a rag to wring out and then wiped the outside of the cup with it!! I can't imagine the rag in a bucket on the floor would be intended for countertops.. let alone customers cups they put their mouths on. First the good. Your portions and food quality are still good. The bad. 1. Restaurant is so dirty. Walls and booths need a good sanitized wiping down, floors mopped with cleaner, rugs vacuumed. 2. Ice cream terrible. Tastes icy like it thaws and refreezes. Vanilla is a yellow hue. Weird! I sure hope you are training staff to clean ice cream machines so I and your other customers don't get Listeria like those 3 that died at Frugals. 3. Your staff need some training on proper food service etiquette. I realize these are teenagers and I'm glad they are working but a restaurant is not their moms kitchen. Kids liked their burgers but unfortunately I was let down, this is my first time here and I didn't realize they don't take Apple Pay. I got two burgers for my kids and one me for me and we're in the way to the water so I wanted to eat first. I was ONE dollar short and the guy at the window litter watched me frantically search for change in my car. Instead of offer too pay the dollar for a mom and her two kids he told me to park till I could find it. Huge let down from what I took to be a wholesome little drive in. Definitely out of the way but definitely worth going out of my way. A great little burger shack. Nothing fancy here, just a good old fashioned American burger. The bacon was crisp and plentiful, the patty and accoutrements were tasty and the bun was toasted perfectly. Fries of course were pretty crispy and fresh. Overall value was right were it should be. okay, so... I went here on a Friday night. The drive thru line was long. this place takes a long time, and they do not rush. I literally sat in the street for 8-10 mins. By then, I was too stubborn to park and go inside. Anyway, after my 20-25 min sit in the drive thru, I got my food. A bacon burger, some onion rings... fry sauce, ranch sauce. The fry sauce was amazing, the onion rings were super crispy, the bacon on the burger was plentiful, crispy, and amazing. I will be back. read more

Yummy JR Bacon Cheese Burger, Yummy Butterscotch Shake, excellent hot Onion Rings but most of my French Fries were barely warm & mixed with a few fresh hot fries so it was easy to tell the difference between the old and the new fries. The Fries are $4.50 and for $4.50 I expect to have all fresh hot fries not a mix of old fries with a few fresh hot fries. That was a bummer. Suggestion: Ask for hot fresh cooked fries when you place your order. The service was not so great either. Counter help was not welcoming or friendly to us at all, BIG bummer. The Restroom floor looked like it had not been mopped in 2 years (this is not a joke) It is SUPER filthy, I bet it is still filthy today. I though about telling them that their restroom needed cleaning but should a customer really have to tell them to clean! I don't think so. Full service restroom cleaning should be done on a daily basis at minimum. There was lots of staffing standing around behind the counter. Management needs to start managing and delegate a full service cleaning as a regular daily duty. read more

We walked here from a bar to get food. Wasn't impressed. Important to know everything on menu is by itself. If you want fries, you need to ask for fries. There's no veggie or black bean burger, so I had a grilled cheese. Not bad. Food and shake were enjoyable. The young lady behind the counter couldn't be bothered to greet or help us. Didn't look up, kept gooding off with herself. The young gentleman who did step up was polite. Got our order right, checked it with us, and was quick. Food came out right. While dining, the young lady made inappropriate comments and conversation with the staff, and continued to not work. Saw every other staff member working. Bathroom is plainly disgusting. Looks like it hadn't been washed in quite a while. Men's is out of service. If I return, it will be drive through. Not worth visiting the dining area. read more

Burgers and fries are extremely solid. I don't remember the shakes clearly but I want to say they were good. The biggest issue is the goddamn drive thru serpentine. In the current climate of allowing customers, why haven't they allowed pickup orders??? To say the only way to get their product is to possibly leave your vehicle ass-out in the middle of a busy intersection is ridiculous. I have been obsessed with Fish N Chips lately. I can't explain it, but I can't get enough of them and I've searched everywhere for really good ones and have only found a few that have satisfied. Pilchuck Drive In is one of them. The restaurant is very small and when I was there, very crowded. The customer service was fantastic, considering that I asked for every extra that is possible and he still smiled and didn't make me feel like the mooch that I was being. (extra lemon, ketchup and tarter) So, I brought my Fish N Chip booty back to the office, it was a heavy sack, I knew before opening it that there was a lot of food in that sack! I had ordered Fish N Chips from both Ivars and Anthony's recently and received fish a little larger than my index finger... no kidding, so I was afraid I'd get a Jr. Helping of fish again and so ordered 4 pieces of fish. Oh my! They were large. Very, very large. At least compared to the Ivars and Anthony's fish. Actually forget about a comparison to Ivars and Anthony's, these were just plain large. Very big. Bigly. Huge, in fact. Huge. They were also delicious. The batter is light and crispy and stayed put even after I poured lemon on it then dipped it in tarter. It stayed intact! (that was a problem at Ivars - the fish fell apart) So, there's a few photos below of this famous fish, it was definitely worth the $11.25 and the fries weren't bad either. I'm not a fry fan, but they weren't bad, I even ate some. I'll be back! read more

Went tonight and spent 30 dollars (think I was charged too much after doing the math and no receipt.). Got three cheeseburgers and two orders of fries/. Upon pulling out of the drive thru of course I went to grab some hot fries. To my disappointment there were none/. Had some lukewarm fries and the containers were not close to full. I combined both orders of fries at 3 dollars each and both orders did not fill one of the baskets that should have both been full thus paid 6 dollars for less than one full order. Drove ten minutes home and had to put the fries in the air fryer. Burger was not good and overall a huge disappointment. Spend thirty dollars elsewhere!!!! read more

Wow, what a rollercoaster my experience with Pilchuck has been. My wife absolutely refused to take no for an answer when asking if I wanted to eat here several times since my last review. She absolutely loves it, and I have therefore had many more opportunities to try the food and experience the service. So here's the thing, the food at Pilchuck ranges from decent to very good. If you're familiar with mom and pop drive in type food, that's what you get. Not everything on the menu is great, but the cheeseburger and onion rings and fry sauce is my go-to. I've also tried several other things like the corn dog (good), the pot roast sandwich (great), and all of their burgers (the cheeseburger being the best, IMO). The shakes are also thick and delicious. I wish the portions were bigger, because you don't get a ton of food. My opinion with the service, however, has not changed. The service is awful. The wait can be absurd at times, and the logistics of the parking lot and drive thru are a nightmare. This will be the last time I review Pilchuck, so I wanted to give it a more fair review before signing off. read more

This was one of my favorite spots . But after last night I won't go back . After waiting 15 minutes (is usually fine ) but this time my ice in drinks was melted already my fish sandwich was cold and wet !! Inedible !! My Tim's special was dripping grease . Don't get me wrong I love a greasy burger but it was as if was dropped in grease . The bread was like a cream of wheat it was so soaked. All the veggies on the burger were wilted and mushy . Sorry to say a 1.50 McDouble from McDonald's put them to shame . I wasted 50$ on a horrible dinner I bragged up ,and left me really bummed out ,and sick!!
