I brought in a formal floor length dress to be pressed from the waist down and to have the 13 pleats pressed as well. I was very specific. I even asked how they'd know not to mess with the top and how they'd know to press in the pleats. The person helping both then and when I returned for pick up were both nice. But the dress was supposed to be ready at 10am and I didn't get notification until well in the afternoon. What was a deal breaker was that - even after they'd counted the pleats to charge me extra - they'd not been pressed and I did not have time to wait as I was going out of town for a wedding. What I didn't like is that they seemed to kind of brush the whole topic off as if it wasn't a big deal. I had to ask about getting money off of the bill because of it and here it turned out that they actually did charge me for the plates but didn't even offer to take that money off. The last thing is that I had the dress on a special hanger that I knew it would stay on readily and not fall potentially on the ground or to the bottom of the dry cleaning bag or whatever - I asked the employee if I should just take it with me to assure that the dress gets put back on that hanger - and they said no to leave it with them and they'll make sure I get it because that will make it easier for them that it will not fall off the hanger. When I got the dress, it was on just a regular metal hanger that they taped the dress to and it very quickly fall off of the hanger in the car the floor as I was driving. And, again, this was a formal floor length dress and they brought it out without a dry cleaner bag on it and seemed surprised when I asked if they had something to put over it like that was an usual request. I'm not certain if your rates are within the average range of most dry cleaners but that was a lot of money to pay to not get what I asked for and to have it done kind of half arsed. read more

Yes, times have changed over the years, and attires for work has gone casual, so I no longer wear a suit to work therefore, I don't need to get it cleaned, so I don't go to Pilgrims as I used to, but I'm still grateful to have a continuous spot to l take in my winter coats yearly for cleaning and a place to go to get my alterations done! Awful place to go have your clothes cleaned!!!! Took two black coats there to get cleaned picked them up two days later after I got home I looked at them and one of them wasn't even cleaned!!! It had food stains still on it that I could scratch off with my fingernails!!! You can still see that the coat was still dirty on the sleeves and around the collar!! I had the absolute worst customer service (if you can call it that!) I've ever had in my life. I dropped off clothes at 9:40 am on Wednesday, and when the attendant asked when I would like them back I asked for them today. She was bothered from the start and said she could not get them to me today. I pointed out the sign that said if dry cleaning is in before 11am during the week it's same-day service. Unbelievable. I asked them to remove a spot on my suit jacket and when I came to pick it up it had a 4" by 4" square burn mark on the place where the spot was. When I returned to pick it up the 2nd time after filing a claimThe burn mark was the minished but I agreed to accept it in exchange for a $20 credit on my account. Now I come to pick up my raincoat London Fog And suit and they tell me they don't see the $20 credit on my account. Where I called in the morning to talk to Emily she would not stop talking to hear my side and said this is not a conversation because I'd would not yield to her overbearing verbal assault. My coat look like it had only been run through a dryer and hung backup on the rack still wrinkled. I been here 2 times and both times I've had problems... that's 100% Disappointment. I wish their was a way to give negative stars and also that i would have read past negative reviews of this horrible company! The day after my granmothers passing 8/5/2016 i went into this business in a time of need. I had just lost my grandmother the day before and she had been on her death bed since the saturday before, i was in no mindset to wash me and my childrens laundry. I explained to the employee working that this was my first time and had never had my clothes washed by others and the situation i was in. She gave me a quote of around $50, she helped me to bring the clothes in and everything, so clearly seen the quantity of clothes i was having washed. She told me the clothes would be ready 2 days later and when i came back to pick them up my bill was $245!! I almost fainted in the lobby, im a single mother of 3 and do not have that kind of money to spend on washing, i never would have left my clothes with them had i known that was what it was going to cost. We needed our clothes for the funeral and daily life so was forced to pay. When i asked her why my bill was almost 200 dollars more than what she quoted me, she had no explanation for me. I had no choice but to pay to get our clothes back which in turn bounced my rent check and took from my contribution towards my grandmas funeral. In a time of mourning and a time of need this company stole from us. When i spoke to management and told them the whole scenario after because their was no management available that day, she admitted that the employee misqouted me but then turned around and told me all they could offer me was a $25 credit. What does that do for anybody?? Was a slap in the face, i would never do business again with thieves. I have contacted corporate last week to no avail, no acknowledgent, no response and no remorse or viable solution from any part of this company. This business should be shut down, its very unacceptable to treat or do that to people. Hands down my very worst experience dealing with any company in my 33 years of life! This experience literally broke my heart and my pockets their willing to do nothing about it. On top of that, in the pictures i posted you can see that the packages were labeled $10.73, i had 9 packages total. Doing the math, that would have been less than $100. They also returned my bathroom rug back to me damaged, as you can see in the photos as well. The photo of my receipt shows theres no breakdown of my charges or how the came up with $245.91 just a total due. Charged for No Services I brought in two comforters. Days later I returned to pick them up. One was clearly not cleaned at all. I saw spots from my dogs that I KNOW come out. They apologized and let me leave them for another spot treat and clean. I picked up my comforter, got it home and opened it up. THEY FOLDED THE BLANKET SO THE SPOTS WEREN'T VISIBLE. Lazy work, lazy customer service. I have gone here a handful of times because it's so close to my home. Each time I get home and inspect the clothes, something is wrong: large creases through out the shirts, wrinkles, collars bent, etc... most of the people who work there clearly hate their jobs, I have never seen one person smile. I'm bummed out that I have to search for a new dry cleaner out of the way but it's a waste of time and money. Also, advice to managment: if you have a slew of negative reviews on multiple platforms, more than positive, I would suggest making some changes and start caring about your business, you have a prime location and the potential to be a gold mine - don't throw it away, put in some work. read more

Pilgrim lost my clothes and said it wasn't their fault! - I had been going here for 12 years. But lately the service at Pilgrim has become so bad that taking your dry cleaning here will cause you immense frustration. This last time, they gave me somebody else's pants. When I realized the error and returned them, they denied the clothing came from them and claimed that the color of the hangers and heat seals were different. I haven't used another dry cleaners, and I feel like they were trying to deflect responsibility by hiding behind technical jargon. They said they would investigate. They didn't. Several weeks later I messaged corporate to see if they found my clothes. I got a call back from the Robbinsdale store with the same canned response about heat seals and hangar color. Now I'm out $400 for the pants, plus the money I spent on the clothing Pilgrim lost. Pathetic! read more

After spending $40.00 (seems like a lot) for my queen size comforter to be washed...stains were still there. Came home sprayed it with Shout, shoved it in my wash machine, which the comforter is too big for, and it came out stain free. What was the $40.00 for? I couldn't make this up if I tried. Took several garments to get cleaned. When I picked them up, I was shocked that the bill was over $70! But that isn't even the problem. One of the coats I brought in was not only returned filthy, but it was also damaged. Damage, they say, that was caused either by their ironing process, or damage caused by me. Regardless, they are not claiming responsibility. After two weeks of trying to get a hold of a manager, I went to pick up the coat, but they couldn't find it. I finally received the coat back, with ADDITIONAL DAMAGE, but no refund or replacement value was offered. Like I said - I couldn't make this up if I tried. I ran across the review posted 2/23/15 while looking for a phone number to reach a manager. -WOW. I've had an awful experience with Pilgrim as well. I took a long down coat to be cleaned. I pointed out a spot on the lower part of the coat to be sure it was noticed (and removed). When I went to pick up the coat, the fur on the coats' hood was gone?! After searching for it, the 'attendant' asked if there was a problem? I said yes and explained... She discovered Robbinsdale (still) had the fur. They hadn't reattached it. I was asked to come back the next day to pick it up. (At this point I was not thrilled, but obliged.) When I got home, I un-bagged the coat -to find the spot I had pointed out was had not been removed?! I called the store and was told to bring it back...They'd redo it. When I picked the coat up (following the redo), the spot was still there?! I (again) pointed it out. I found it hard to believe if someone had REALLY TRIED to get the spot out, that it wasn't gone. The 'attendant' really couldn't answer for why the spot was/wasn't there. She was unsure of the type of cleaning method used? We looked at the 'care' tag to find this down coat could be machine washed. Therefore, the person I was speaking with suggested washing it. I told her if it could be washed, then I might as well do it myself~. I trusted I would have a better shot at removing the spot than they did!! The following day, I was going to wear my coat. When I tried to put it on, it felt as if it had shrunk 3 sizes? I discovered the elastic drawstring cord (located at the waist, used to 'cinch' the coat) was WOUND UP SO TIGHTLY IT FORMED A BALL?! I could NOT imagine how it got that way?!!! As I tried to 'unwind' it, I could see/tell they elastic fibers had been broken! -That's how tightly 'bound' it was?!!! Needless to say, I called the store. I told the 'attendant' I was going to bring the coat back to the store so she could see what had been done to it! After examining the coat herself and after consulting with the seamstress, it was determined nothing could be done to fix it. I was told the store policy was to pay to replace an item damaged beyond repair. After I filled out the paperwork, the 'attendant' told me she needed to keep the coat. Her 'manager would want to see it'. Nooo way! The outdoor temperatures were the coldest they've been all winter! It was 18 degrees that day and colder weather was forecast. I was NOT going to give up my long, warm coat and be forced to hastily buy a replacement - all due to their screw up! I told the attendant if the manager wanted to see the coat, she should call me~. (I had also vocalized the previously written comments to her.) NOTE: Practically everyone has a cell phone with a camera. If the manager needed to see my coat, either the 'attendant' or the seamstress could have taken a picture of it and relayed the problem to the manager in this manner. If that wasn't possible, as mentioned, both women had seen the sad condition of the coat and could easily, honestly vouch for the fact Pilgrim screwed it up! It's almost 3 weeks since this incident. Since I haven't heard a peep from Pilgrim, I guess I will have to be the one to 'dog them'. -Is this what customer service is about? Really????? What a poor, sad, inexcusable excuse-. **I apologize this post is so lengthy. This has been -what I thought was- an unbelievable ordeal. That is, until I read the 2/23/16 post!** Again, WOW.
