My son who's now graduating from high school was a student at Pilgrim from 1st grade to 8th. This school is awesome!! While he had some not so great experiences, overall it was wonderful especially the middle school. The teachers are amazing (love you Mrs Hall and Stehle!) and cared deeply about each student! Our time at Pilgrim has been really positive. We came from another school environment that just wasn't the right fit, and we were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming this community felt. The teachers and staff genuinely care about students and their well-being, and communication is always thoughtful and supportive. Like any school, there are occasional challenges, but they are addressed with respect and collaboration. Being a smaller school has its tradeoffs, yet it also creates a close, caring community that has given our child many meaningful experiences and opportunities. It saddens me to read that one star review. This school is nothing but amazing. My daughter is going on her third year here at Pilgrim and she loves it more than anything, more importantly, so do I. I did not even want to talk about this problem a few weeks ago, I believe that what goes around comes around, and I am not doing this to hurt teacher or principal, because if I have read this or even if someone have told me for what our kid went thru or myself, I would not believe it, and I still think of why this happened in a Christian school. Mrs. Lam called me on July 10th, and asked me to come to her office to talk about our kid's grades. When I met with her, she was with another teacher. She showed me that review, and asked me if I wrote it, I said "yes" and she was very friendly and humble and although she never talked about our kid's grade, she told me things about teacher that convinced me it would be a better experience for our kid next school year. Trusted me, I tried to put things aside and to start everything new, we're human beings and make mistakes, but something was making me insecure of continuing at Piligrim. To not make the story too long, in one of those phone calls, she told me, she could talk to the parents of that kid, and that she could do many things to solve the problem. We had paid for this whole year, and when I called to request for our money back, she called me again, every time my phone rang, I thought it was her. We also paid in advance for the whole time our kid during the time was attending school last year. It was horrible. As a teacher, you don't deprive a child from playing with his/her classmates just because your child lied to the teacher by saying he or she understood the lesson and the kid didn't do it right infront of teacher and then gets punish 10 days only playing on the swing, for lying and when you as a parent meet with principal crying and ask to be notified about of when your child gets "Time Outs" they said they don't have to do that. Believe me many times I left the classroom thinking, maybe teacher is having a hard day, other times, I would say to myself " maybe she's just having a hard week . I waited and waited and hoped that things would change. As teacher noticed I was paying close attention to this problem that took many months, teacher would be extra nice to parents, especially if I ask teacher about something and she would either not answer my question or she would be sarcastic to me, but attitude would change as she would see parents approaching on the other door. Mrs. Lam called me and said if I did not put my review down, there was a big chance we would lose the school year tuition, that she was going to meet with the board an d that we had to wait and gave me a date, pretty much till the end of the month to see if the board was going to give us the money, I remember feeling my head very hot, and speechless, but I just told her to let me know otherwise we were going to hire a lawyer, she advised me not to sue the school, but to sue ... I said," no "because it is not their fault that Piligrim has mean teacher and a mean principal like you" Thank God, thank God, these people who I paid for the whole year called me it was Not Piligrim, it was aside from Piligrim and very very nice and kind said they were going to refund us the money. Right away, they deposited the money into our account, I could not believe it. I'm so glad we did not pay Piligrim for the whole year, bless those people who called me and made my life easier. Your experience might be different from ours. We are human beings and sometimes learn from our mistakes. I truly hope they would treat new kids and parents with respect. We paid in advance for school and lunch, they asked us to have our kids in after school tutoring, we did it.They judged the book by its cover, at the end we have a really bad taste, but I feel grateful that we are no longer there and that very kind people refunded our money very quick and friendly. This might be a good school for someone else, which is great we are not all the same and sometimes following your heart might help to protect your kids and yourself from having bad moments. Both of our kids attended preschool at Pilgrim, we cannot recommend this school enough. Our kids felt so loved, supported and sincerely cared about. The teachers at Pilgrim are still like family even though our kids now attend public school. If cost was not an issue they would still be at Pilgrim. I always truly got the sense that every educator at pilgrim sincerely loves what they do and puts so much into their work. I was especially impressed with their work with our youngest, he is receiving special education services and his teachers went above and beyond to meet his needs from the minute he started as a three year old. He is thriving in kindergarten, Pilgrim is amazing!! read more

I have 2 kiddos in the school and as soon as our 3rd is old enough - she will be attending! We love the staff and teachers. It's smaller, which means smaller classes, and the teachers really make an effort to get to know the student and families! We invest a lot of time into the school and volunteer as much as possible - it's a second home to us! I am happy they are going to uniforms this coming year too! read more

Pilgrim is a wonderful school! The faculty and staff have a loving spirit and continually strive to meet the needs of each and every student. Being a smaller school means smaller classes, which allow the parents and faculty to work closely together to help every student thrive academically, socially and spiritually. Pilgrim offers Music and P.E. as well as other great programs during and after school. I wish I could give a big 0 star. We avoid problems as much as possible, but unfortunately people like from Pilgrim will take advantageous of you and even worse leave bad memories to your kids. Classes are small, but a lot of the kids who attend this "school " their family members work here, which makes it difficult when problems arise. We thank God that the kid told my wife in different occasions, that the teacher Mrs. Karen Kiser would scream and humiliate our kid in front of all the kids. And the horrible part is that she would also allow another kid who bullied others in the past, bullied our kid as well. Teacher is not at the school anymore, but not because of this problems,but we're pretty sure she would come back at any time. We met with Mrs. Lam and she didn't do anything about. Please be careful and protect yourself if you meet with the staffing. When teacher realized we were paying close attention to the problems, she would get mad and not answer to my wife Good morning, unless other parents were present. One day we the mail saying they wanted us to come over to the school to pay two dollars and fifty cents for the lunch, but we looked at the check book and said it was already pay. We always payed in advance for the whole month for lunch. Then my wife got an email and a phone call from Mrs. Lam saying she wanted to talk to her about our kids' grades. Parents please be careful, honest to God this is the truth, Mrs. Lam was with another teacher and never talked about our kid's grades. Instead she said that if we put down a review about this "Christian School " that my wife posted before, Only then she came up with a lot of solutions, so our kid would not be bullied by the other kid the next year. She told my wife that the good thing was that Mrs. Kiser was not going to be at Pilgrim this year, and that she was going to talk to the parents of the kids, several times if she had to to solve this issue and more different way to prevent bullying from this kid. By then, it was the end of the year. Mrs. Lam told my wife that we were not going to get the refund from the whole year that we already payed, and almost convinced my wife to leave our kid there for the next year and that everything was going to be better. She would call my wife multiple times to and tell her that she better put the review down or else we were not going to get our money back, we finally decided to hire a lawyer and let Mrs. Lam know and we got our money back then. Thank God our kid is happy now at the new school, but those horrible memories every time we drive by the school are there. People at Pilgrim are very manipulating, somehow, they can put you down and convince you that what they did is the best in another minute. We have many bully stories similar to those you see or hear on social media. I wish the staffing from this "school " would train or teach themselves to love and treat every kid, parent or everyone the same way, they do to those fortunate parents who have a lot of money and a high end job. I wish they would Not discriminate parents or kids who are not wealthy like others. Our kid goes to different activities after school, and it's amazing what Pilgrim is doing to attract attention and get new kids and hopefully not vulnerable parents who avoid problems, so that Pilgrim would not take advantage once again. I promise everything that I'm going to say here is true. Worst experience ever. We thought, it is a "Christian School" and a small class size. They would call you and call you until you register your child in their school, but watch out it can be a tearful experience. It is very sad, but teachers and principal don't care if your kid is being bullied by another kid. I've never seen a mean teacher and a principal who don't care nothing about the wellbeing of a child, and are mean to parents who don't like to talk or are afraid of talking to teacher and principal about fixing any problems. Most of the staff here at Pilligram School have their kids here, so if your child has a problem with any of the kids, believe me it would be a terrible battle that you and your kid have to work it out alone, because principal gets manipulated by teacher and would NOT do anything to solve the problem. If you as a parent are afraid or shy of talking to principal or teacher, or if they know that you applied for financial assistance, or if you are a quiet person, Mrs. Lam and the teacher our kid had would be nice to you when other parents were around you, but mean to you otherwise. The teacher humiliated multiple times our kid by screaming at him in front of all the kids that our kid was never going to pass the next grade because he didn't know nothing. She would scream to our kid that he would not do the same activities that the other kids were doing because he was not smart and was behind on everything. One day, A few kids told me that our kid was not taking the recess at all sometimes because of this kid who would bullied our kid a lot and the teacher would for many months have our kid with no recess or a little of time for him to play by himself not with the rest of the kids, when I asked the teacher if it was possible that she would keep that kid and our apart from each other, I promise you that it was scary to see her very angry for over 10 mins. and did not let me talk at all. and for more than a week the teacher completely stopped talking to me, I would say good morning, and she would be next to me and just ignore me yet she would continue giving our kid time out. Then we met with Mrs. Lam, and teacher and Mrs. Lam said to us, that maybe teacher snapped at me because I've caught teacher in a bad time. I asked if possible our kid and the other kid would be separated as much possible from each other at least til situation would get better, teacher said she was not going to do that because our kid was not the only one in her class to watch for. I've asked Mrs. Lam if she could notify the parents of the kid, maybe between the parents and our kid and us the parents things would get better and the principal said "Nop, I'm not going to do that" so, If you have a high end job, your kid does not have learning disability, again you have a lot of money not asking for financial aid and you are NOT afraid of talking to principal when problems arise, then they might like your kid otherwise you would cry like I did, many times when I was on denial of how teachers are allow to work with kids and making their life miserable and and parent's life difficult. I just pray that God would change their heart, so that they will teach kids to respect and love each other and that this teacher and principal will be the same to all kids regardless of ethnicity, if they are rich or not, or as the teacher told me about our kid had mental problems. They enjoyed treating me bad and humiliating me however they wanted it and every time I've got their weekly email which was for all the parents, it would always talk about the love of God or say a verse from the Bible and yet they would treat me and our kid differently from the rest.
