This place is really adorable and a great place to enjoy some dessert and chat with friends. My friend I came on Saturday afternoon. It was really hot out, so I'm glad we were able to sit inside and relax. I was very excited to try the egg sandwiches, as I've always seen pictures of Japanese sando sandwiches, but never had them before. There's different varieties to choose from and I was glad to have ordered at least two different ones, which included the classic sandwich with the egg salad, and one special one that came with tamago. Texture inside was creamy, with a soft bread. Definitely made my tastebuds dance. And I washed it down with a refreshing mango and match tea. The owner was very nice and makes each sandwich to order. Parking in pasadena is difficult as always (at the shop). We took it to arlington garden to eat afterwards... short drive to the park but free parking and plenty of seats with shade. No weird bugs attacked us while eating. Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - guaca-mango sandwich felt buttery from the guacamole and the mango made it refreshing with the sweetness and slight tartness. I like this little cafe. The coffee is great. Love the sandos. The desserts are delicious and not too sweet. I like the Oreo flavor and the strawberry shortcake flavor. It looked like a very cozy café. However, the furniture is very basic and uninviting. The cakes look delicious and taste uniquely good. The sandwiches are cute and are perfect for a light meal. The latte was just mediocre. A big turn off point is that they do not let guests use the restroom. There is a big sign on the bathroom that says "No Public restroom". I asked to use it and staff refused to let me use as it stated it is only for staff. I have two problems with that. It is unethical to deny restroom access with those prices; and secondly, it is unhygienic to have finger food but guests are unable to wash their hands before eating. read more

Honestly, 5/5 already based on presentation alone! Each cake is beautifully crafted and decorated. Then when you go into the flavor combinations, it's even better. Here's what we tried: -matcha yuzu: The bright citrus flavor of the yuzu mousse livened up the matcha and the little jelly raindrops on top were adorable -black sesame: I love black sesame, but this was probably my least favorite of the bunch because it was pretty one-note (the osmanthus flavor didn't come through too much) -grape earl grey: I was pleasantly surprised by how well this worked! -kinako chestnut: Loved the unique flavor and the crunch! It was a beautiful Saturday night and we were greeted to warm smiles and no wait! There were also no customers here at 6pm.. but nonetheless, we ordered some coffee as we needed the caffeine to prepare for a long night! The tiramisu topping on top was decent on its own, but when mixed with the coffee, it didn't help much with the flavor, as it still tasted like straight up milk and coffee. Iced Honeycomb Latte: Unfortunately, this drink had a similar problem like the Ice Tiramisu. It looked really cool.. but the coffee itself also tasted like milk + black coffee simply mixed together. After breaking up the honeycomb and mixing it all together, it helped just a bit by adding a slight honey flavor to the coffee. I like that the bread they use is fluffy with a hint of sweet milky taste, as it perfectly frames the flavors of its fillings. Drink were solid! I got a honey oat latte and my partner did the matcha latte. Nothing crazy to note here. The cake we opted for was the Pink Lover, which I heard from the server helping another customer is a really popular seller, and I can understand why! Yum! My fiance and I happened to be in the area so we did a quick Yelp search which brought us to this place! Seeing the super cute desserts and egg sandwiches, we just had to try it :) Egg heaven sandwich: Japanese style sandwich with egg salad and soft boiled egg. The bread of the sandwich itself was a little dry, but the filling was SO good! Sooo egg-y and creamy, with the perfect amount of mayo. It would've been a pretty solid dessert, except that most of the dessert was mousse. The mousse gets tiring after a while and more cake would've balanced this dessert out. Sunny side up: Definitely the best of the three desserts we got, a solid 9/10. It consisted of mango jelly/coconut mousse/chiffon cake. Mango and coconut always pair well together, and this was no exception. Like the pink lover, this dessert could use more cake, but the mousse in this one didn't get as tiresome or monotonous like the lychee mousse did. Overall, it was a very light and refreshing dessert. Sparking orangeade: My fiance and I loved this drink, but it's literally nothing special LOL. It's pretty much orange juice (or syrup?) with sparking water and bits of orange pieces. I will say, the orange pieces were AMAZING and they were the sweetest oranges I've ever tasted from a boba/dessert shop. Would I get this drink again? Definitely yes. Is it worth the $5 price tag? Used their website to order online. It was simple and if gave me a 15-20 min estimate of when it would be ready. The mango with matcha is like a matcha latte but at the end you get some tangy mango flavor. It's not super heavy in flavor and rather light. Need to really mix it well otherwise the mango flavor floats to the top. I wouldn't get this again because of the high price ($5.95). The sunny side up was very light in flavor and very airy in texture. If you like dim sum mango pudding, this is just the flavor for you. I love the layers involved. The sponge cake is a bit soft most likely with so many layers of mousse on top. The other desserts look wonderful with unique flavors. It's a hefty price of $8 for a cake the size of you palm. Pillow Talk has been on my radar for quite some time so I finally bit the bullet and told my sis-in-law to order online so we could all share the various beautifully looking egg sandwiches and desserts. Because we were all sharing, I was able to try the Tamagoyaki, EggHeaven and Okonomiyaki. My favorite was the tamagoyaki as it was beautifully cooked and flavored. None of the sandwiches/eggs were overcooked. The EggHeaven was slightly bland but still delicious. We ordered the Pink Lover, Matcha Yuzu, Tiramisu and Black Sesame. The raspberry, lychee and rose mousse in the pink lover was so yummy along with the moist chiffon cake. The Matcha Yuzu was a slight disappointment and just didn't really mesh well. But the Tiramisu and Black Sesame were both very good and very strong flavored. I felt the egg sandwiches were very good but a bit overpriced. A cute little cozy store that might not fit a big group, but if you're doing take out, who cares? Kinako Chestnut - crunchy on top and soft on the bottom, mildly sweet and delicious. If you're someone who loves different textures, this one is for you. Grape Earl Grey - for starters, I LOVE Earl Grey, so I might be biased. It has a very fragrant tea taste and it's not overwhelming. Very smooth and moist. Matcha with strawberries - a bit too sweet for me, but it is a good mixture. You can still taste the matcha without it being overpowered by the strawberry. Parking could be a little challenging but you can just park nearby at the Burlington Arcade. It's a short 4 minute walk. How cute are their cakes in the tin! We got the Pink Lover which has a tart raspberry jelly, delicate lychee and rose mousse on top of a soft chiffon cake. All topped with real raspberry in every bit. Yes, it's a little pricy but just get it. We got two sandwiches. Tamagoyaki Sandwich has a generous thick layer of tamago surrounded by a thin spread of mustard, Dashi, mayo on the toasted bread. They cut it into three pieces so it's easy to share or eat in moderation or at least you can try to. I devoured mine though. This sandwich looks simple but the flavor is amazing. The mustard gives this sandwich the kick it needed and so you don't get bored with the flavor. Okonomiyaki Sandwich has a more powerful flavor to it. They jazz up the Tamago sandwich with bacon, cabbage and dashi. Honestly, I wasn't too keen with this one. The spread was too much and the bacon wasn't my thing. I wish they had mire cabbage in it to balance out the heaviness. They also put Bonito flakes on top that made it fishy smelling. It's a bit much for me but for someone who loves the flakes would be on heaven. Reviews said the Egg Heaven sandwich has more of a mild taste to it but loved the Okonomiyaki. I think since I'm the reverse and felt the Okonomiyaki was a bit much for me, the Egg Heaven might be good. I shall try this next time. We also got two drinks- the tiramisu iced with 50% sweetness. The drink was smooth and velvety. The other drink was the iced dirty matcha latte with almond milk. This one you can't change the sweetness of it but you can change what milk you want so I opt for the almond milk. It's not overly sweet but gives you that kick you need to get over the afternoon slump. If you like your caffeine masked in sweetness this is not the drink for you. Only paid street parking was available but there was plenty of space on the weekday. Pick-up was quite fast so parking real quick and grabbing your order wouldn't be a bad alternative. The cafe was small, quiet and clean so I can see people studying or working inside. =ORDERED= *Matcha with Mango: chose 50% sugar and it was perfect. Keeping it at 100% would have been too sweet. Loved how distinct the matcha and mango flavors were and there was natural sweetness from both. If possible, ask for less ice because the water diluted the drink and didn't mix well with the milk. *Pink Lover: favorite one of my selected three desserts. The raspberry jelly was slightly tart and firm, adding a pleasant contrast in texture and fruitiness. Lychee and rose mousse was fragrant. Chiffon cake was average with minimal taste and served as a serving device for the unique toppings. *Black Sesame: strong, earthy sesame flavor but I wished there was a creamier element. Everything was dense and one note, and would have greatly benefited from a cream or mousse that gave the dessert some moisture. *Taro: mild, root based cake and mousse. There wasn't much chantilly cream but I appreciated the lightness it added. Most of the flavor came from the cake which had prominent ube taste. These desserts weren't overly sweet and tasted very natural. However, I wished the latter desserts were more balanced in flavors. The cake bases weren't dry but weren't moist either and lacked any notable contribution besides spongey texture. Cute, quaint little coffee shop located on the bustling Lake Ave in Pasadena! It's been a minute since I last visited (with social distancing and all) but I always had positive experiences here. The menu is simple but the drinks are definitely worth a try. The Honey Lavender Latte is great both hot and iced although I'm a little more partial to drinking it hot. The Ice Tiramisu is also tasty and actually tastes somewhat close to the real thing in coffee form. Food-wise, the Tamagoyaki sandwich is delicious. Egg, dashi, mustard and mayo is all you need, but boy, is it an excellent combination of flavors. The bread is pillowy-soft and allows for the tamago to really shine. While I would like to try the other sandwiches, I always find myself ordering this one again. Does that make me a creature of habit or just plain obsessed? Probably both. The interior is minimalistic with a touch of mid-century design--clean lines, subway tiling and a bit of greenery sprinkled here and there. The sandwich was good, but honestly could've been a lot better. It is essentially a fluffy omelette with mustard and mayo between two slices of bread. The sandwich was extremely hot, and to my surprise, mustard actually pairs well with eggs. It definitely could use some hot sauce or something, because you kind of get tired of it after the first two bites. (The eggs are really sweet.) The cakes on the other hand is the saving grace. Unfortunately, this new Japanese styled café on South Lake next door to T-pumps was just an ordinary shop selling aesthetically pleasing items. I ordered their new dessert flavor - matcha strawberry as well as their iced lavender latte. Both orders were a huge miss, hence there was no pillow-talking done whatsoever for me during my visit. The dessert was too sweet for my liking, not airy or light like I would have liked it to be and texture didn't WOW me. The drink was infused with sugar and I just couldn't finish it. Talk about these pillowy cakes! These literally are all as light and fluffy as a pillow cloud. I love the silver tins the cakes come in that make me feel just a little fancier when I eat them haha but even without the tins, these are some of the best cakes/mousses I've tasted! So far have tried the sunny side up (mango coconut cake shaped like an egg on top), tiramisu, earl grey grape, matcha yuzu, black sesame, and raspberry. I have gone back multiple times for all but the raspberry and my entire family is always so happy when i come home with these. Faves from the above are the sunny side up, matcha, and black sesame. Price is reasonable for gourmet style desserts and I feel satisfied after just a few bites. Love that they're all also not overly sweet (similar to most Asian style cakes) and the creams and mouses are super light and cake bases fluffy yet packed with flavors true to the cake names. Saw this place on Instagram so decided to come and grab some little cakes to go for my picnic date the next day. Got their Sunny Side Up Cake which was mango flavored, didn't get to try this one since I gave this to my grandma but it honestly look cute as heck. Got my boyfriend the Taro/Ube Cake, super list and the cream wasn't overpoweringly sweet which was perfect bc he's not much of a sweets guy. Tasted more like taro than ube and the flavor of the taro was pretty light as well, would be nice if there was more taro flavor in the cakes. I got myself the Oreo Cake which was super fluffy and light, had a nice oreo flavor into it. The cream wasn't too sweet either, love that all their cakes wouldn't give you a sugar overload. Super cute place albeit a little overpriced. Would I return though? Yes. I was in the Pasadena area and saw this place on social media so wanted to check it out! There is paid street parking, so it was $1/hour. They serve sandwiches and cute little cakes/desserts in tins. I got the black sesame one while my friend got the matcha yuzu one. There was no one there when we entered so we were able to get our order quickly... mostly because they were just prepackaged cakes that they needed to put a lid on. The cakes were both $8 each. The black sesame was delicious and pretty large, I ate it in 2 sittings. The chiffon cake was light and fluffy, while the black sesame cream had the perfect black sesame to cream ratio, not too overwhelming. I also am not a fan of things that are too sweet and this was the perfect amount of sweetness for me! I really enjoyed it and can't wait to return to try something else on their menu... maybe a sandwich next time. read more
