Burger spot right outside Yellowstone with a ton of awards! We were quickly drawn in from the display of all their awards. When we went they were under construction so the parking was a mess as was the seating situation, but I understand not closing down completely for a remodel. They're known for their elk and bison burgers but honestly I think their regular burger tasted better. The gamey taste is just not my favorite. The fries were pretty standard but the huckleberry milkshake was so good!! My husband brought up that milkshake again a few days later because he liked it so much. read more

I ordered a Salmon sandwich with water. Paid $21.45. I received a very large bun and 1.5in slice of dry salmon, one small piece of Lettuce, and a thinly sliced end of tomato including the hard brown center from the stem. Sauce was on the side was mustard based with chopped pickles. Not something usually eaten with Salman. This dinner also included French fries and 2 slices of possible pickles or cucumbers. (No flavor or vinegar taste) I got our silver ware from counter, and salt from another table. No waitress came back anytime after delivery of food. Worst meal in several years. From the staff ignoring us for a solid 10 minutes (just to order), to the insane amount of flies all over the restaurant, we should have known better and walked away. But being tired and wildly optimistic, we ordered the "famous" elk burger and an appetizer. The food was the worst we've had in many months, while traveling to many different cities. The entire family felt ill the evening after eating dinner there, and I cannot recommend The Corral, even if it were the only restaurant in town. Stopped here for lunch with the family. I pretty much enjoyed everything about this place. You order at counter then seat yourself. They bring food out to you. There is a self serve water station and fairly decent drink menu as well. We had elk burgers and kids had chicken tenders. Everything was solid. The fries seem to be fresh cut and especially good. Pricing is on par with everywhere else around the park. I would highly recommend for a quick no frills meal. read more

We ate there twice during our stay in the area. The first time, each of us ordered some type of hamburger, two bison, and one beef. We were all thrilled with the hamburgers and drinks. We had ordered 3 different appetizers as we were starving. Only two found their way to our table: the deep-fried pickles and deep-fried mushrooms, both very hot and yummy. I had ordered the sweet potato fries, but when our hamburgers came, I had to ask about the fries. The server asked if I still wanted them, and when I said no, he quickly refunded my money. While the food was good, it was, but in my opinion, over-priced, but we were in a high tourist area. The second time we went, we had been rafting, so we were a bit wet and hungry! This time, we all ordered an appetizer as we knew this would fill us and still have room for dinner. I finally got my sweet potato fries. These came out with a honey-based dipping sauce and a bit of powdered sugar sprinkled on top of the fries. I was so in heaven! The other appetizers were deep-fried onion rings and cheese poppers with jalapenos. Both were awesome. The highlight to this day goes to the huckleberry milkshake! This was so good. Half of these pictures are old. The place has been redone. The setup is not efficient at all. The line goes out the door. I mistakenly chose this place based on the overall review stars. You walk into a room and there is no room to stand to wait to place your order. There are four of us. We ordered two chicken finger meals, a hamburger, and wings. We were charged for two chicken finger meals, one hamburger, one order of chicken wings and one grilled cheese. So I had the pleasure of waiting in line a second time to get a refund for the grilled cheese that I never ordered. Then, we waited for our food at a table with a number card/tent. A waitress approached the table and told us that they were out of chicken fingers. So, one of us ordered another hamburger and the other ended up getting a grilled cheese after all. After a really really really long time, the food finally came. The wings were ordered "hot" but came with nothing on the wings and nothing on the side. No hot sauce whatsoever. The hamburgers were fine. The grilled cheese was an oily hamburger bun squished down with cheese melted inside. Ridiculous. I was highly disappointed. We paid way too much money for this food and the service was some of the worst that I've had in a long time. I recommend that you keep driving and try another place if you find yourself in this town. read more

No no no. Very rarely would I write a review unless it was necessary. If I didn't have the dogs to cart back to the truck and head back to our Airbnb, I would've stayed behind and told people in line not to order. Burgers were incredibly overpriced ($21+) for what they were. I get it if it was premium bison or elk meat, but I wasn't impressed with the lack of taste and seasoning. Felt like a burger slapped together by my 10 year old nephew. Fries, my goodness. Not sure why I finished all but three fries since they were disgusting, but I needed to keep eating them to figure out what was wrong with them. At first glance, it looked like they were going to be super crispy! But, they were limp and flaccid and had absolutely no flavor. I actually thought they were sweet potatoes fries upon first bite. It seemed like they were undercooked or JUST boiled...nonetheless, it's hard to mess up fries, but this place did. Chicken wings, DO NOT ORDER. They tasted like frozen Tyson wings and for $19, it was an ultimate let down. But crazily enough, the wings were not the worst part of the meal. To top it all off, we ordered ONE root beer and a shake, but were charged for TWO sodas and a milkshake. We never got the root beer or milkshake and the clerk (young kid with attitude) mentioned he told us to pick it up around back, but we were never told that and assumed it came with the food. We finished the food and no drinks came, so we asked for a refund which was given in cash along with the attitude. Overall, seemed like a significant lack of desire to run a good business and seems like they are relying on their marketing (oldest restaurant in town + bison & elk burgers for the Yellowstone crowd) to do the heavy lifting. We were hungry on our way into Yellowstone and thought this restaurant looked cool from the road. The front window gal was friendly. The tables weren't all that clean outside but we found a spot and split an elk burger and fries. For $22 it really wasn't as good as we'd hoped. A decent fast casual eatery with mostly self service, minus food being brought out to you. The CORRAL is a fairly prominently displayed eatery on the side of the main road going through Gardiner, so there's a good chance you'll see it no matter what. While quite a few of the folks in line were raving about it, I can't say I was terribly impressed by my city-boy-palate. It'll certainly serve it's purpose if you just need food, but time permitting I'd recommend looking elsewhere. It's mostly street parking, but the CORRAL has a number of dedicated spots if you turn onto their corner, so drive by first to see if those are filled up. Service is mostly self serve as seating is first-come-first-served, water and utensils are available at a station near the kitchen, and you might need to figure out how to avoid roasting in the sun as covered spots are not too plentiful and interior seating is rather limited. The kitchen areas were also rather unsanitary with all the flies around the food plates; I've seen worse to be honest, but less than ideal to be sure. Water cooler rather finicky to function too. On the bright side, they had a nice outdoors swing and slide set for kids/families to play with, so there's something for younglings to work off their boundless energy on. The food at CORRAL is very much presented in a no frills, 'simple is best' kind of approach. All burgers are the same, just with the patty mixed around. I would nominally see the appeal, but I don't feel like the execution was quite there. Now the fries were solid; lightly seasoned but moderately crispy exterior and a good (if slightly dry) interior. The cookies and cream shake we got was a nice heavy creaminess that came out quite fast and was quite full bodied (they didn't have the huckleberry stuff I wanted but good enough). The main burgers were unfortunately just alright. Very much a simple presentation with minimal compositions to distract from the patty (cheese is an add-on that we both opted for, but it was quite mild and didn't add too much). The elk was done rather dry/lean (also my patty broke apart and they still served it so...). The bison was well done, very lightly seasoned and slightly dry. Not a great burger experience even with the notable gaminesss of the different meat. All in all it was satisfying eat for sating our hunger near Yellowstone, but there are better options in the area to be sure. read more

I had to try it, but you'd probably be just as happy with a regular burger. My wife had a salmon filet sandwich that was also very good. And their hand cut fries were delicious. In the small town of Gardiner, our choices were limited for dinner after 10pm. We ended up at one of two choices and the Corral which is still popping on a Sunday night at 10. As for the fries, very tasty really; but I'll nitpick: each burger tray came with an inconsistent pile of fries. One burger had very little fries and one had fries falling off the sides.
