In the restaurant business the referrals very important. I had brought a friend of mine to have an experience with this restaurant, but we were completely disappointed with the service. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress, but she attended it to other folks first, that came in 20 minutes later after we came in. We finally had to leave since we could not wait any longer. I was so happy to discover there is a Colombian spot in the Buford area, since moving here, we weren't able to find anything close and we kept traveling to Doraville whenever we craved it. As much as I wanted to love this place, we left very disappointed. First, this is a small restaurant, so it can get very crowded. There were only two servers, which with everything going on is understandable, but plan accordingly and don't come here if you're on a rush. You'll end up being late like I was. Main reason why my family and I go to Colombian restaurants is for Bandeja Paisas. This is a traditional dish of Colombia served with grilled steak, rice, beans, pork rinds, sausage, egg, plantains, arepa and avocado. Pimentón did not disappoint in that aspect. Their Bandeja Paisa had all the ingredients we love and expect the dish to have. But the main issue was the inconsistency. I'll explain... My party of 5 ordered 5 bandeja paisas. You'll expect all 5 dishes to come out the same way... right? Well that wasn't the case. Some plates were missing plantains, some others were missing the arepas, some others got everything, but then some ingredients were not cooked properly. My dad's plate even got sent back because it has a bug in it. A BUG. In my opinion, the food was good but not worth all the inconveniences nor the price. Forgot to mention their prices are pretty steep compared to other Colombian establishments, which I wouldn't have minded if the service/food was better. In conclusion, my family and I won't be returning. Even though it is closer from home, we'd rather drive for some food Colombian food. El plato de mi papá incluso fue devuelto porque tenía un insecto. UN INSECTO. En el plato... En mi opinión, la comida era buena pero no vale la pena ni los inconvenientes ni el precio. I a went yesterday for first time to this restaurant. I went to watch the game between Colombia and Argentina. I enjoyed the food and service, but it was frustrating the price I was charged did not match what I expected. When I spoke to the manager she just said that they changed the prices but they did not update it on their menu. So, I suggest to ask for the price first. Empanadas: price on the menu $1.75 and they charged $2.07, Plantain with cheese: price on the menu $6.99 and they charged $8.27. It's very disappointing when you want to have a good time with family and friends but the restaurant take advantage of customers. read more

Such a disgusting place. They have failed the health inspection three times in a row yet they are still somehow in business. Some violations include a "pink substance" found in the ice machine. Food being left out uncovered and not cooled to proper temperature. Multiple meat items not date marked Repeated violation of not not fixing a gap in a door which could allow insects and other pests to enter the restuarant. Just reading all the violations makes me sick to my stomach. Does the management even care about cleanliness, food safety, or their customers? It's mind boggling the health department allowed them to reopen despite the repeated health inspection failures. They clearly aren't going to change. What will it take to shut these people down for good; an unfortunate food borne related death? read more

So the service was amazing for us. We were a party of 20. They were so attentive and sweet. We're got empanadas which are good. Had a little too much potatoes than meat but still good. The ahi was yummy. We also ordered jugo de Mora with milk and oh so yummy and big. Got the bandeja paisa which was good but a bit bland sadly. Needed some more flavor. Ordered pandeonos and bunuelos which were amazing!!!! read more

I was greeted at the door with a welcome smile and handshake--nice touch. Because of the tile and space, it can be noisy. But it is clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Appealing menu. Today I just ordered the chicken on a stick & a side of rice & beans. I didn't have time to sit and eat a full meal. Since the skewers were listed under "fast food," it's disappointing how long they took to get to me. Also I paid $2.00 for a teeny bowl of beans and $2.00 for a teeny dish of rice. Since both items are ridiculously inexpensive to make, I would think they'd pass that savings on to the customer. The skewers themselves were priced well. They were a bit dry for my taste, but still good. The skewers also had onion and red bell pepper on them. I love the green spicy salsa. It isn't as spicy as the place across the highway that has a similar salsa, but it was perfect for my taste. read more

I've been to this place a few times and have ordered the same thing because it was good. The first few times I went with my sister (because she wanted to try it) the service was quick with no complaints. Then took my family of 5 and our waitress added 18% gratuity FOR A TABLE OF 5. Not to mention she was awful and couldn't get a refill not sure why she did that but it really turned me off from wanting to go back. Also the place was dead on a Friday night when this happened and now I can understand why. Might give it another try in the future but adding a 18% gratuity on a small table is ridiculous. read more

I wanted to write a review, since I've read so many poor ones. My husband and I tried this restaurant thinking it was Mexican! Overall, it was very good. They had several specials, and we ordered the Pollo Al Grill for 8.99. It started with a potato chicken soup that was good - a really big bowl. Then the main course came out, consisting of a grilled chicken breast, small salad, rice, and really good lentils. We went for lunch and only paid $18 plus tip. Not bad. The fried pork belly was not crunchy but rather chewy & rubbery. The rice was bland, the beans were bland, the egg was bland, the steak was bland. Even the green sauce (aji verde) was bland but because it had cilantro and green onions in it, at least that helped. They must've added too much water in the green sauce? The mango/milk smoothie was very grainy with a grainy-powdery residue left on my tongue after each sip. I wasn't expecting a gritty-powdered mango drink for the waitress initially said it was made from "fresh fruits"? Maybe they had an off day when I visited? The food was good but the service is horrible. The server did not know a lick of English. He couldn't even understand the common English sayings at a restaurant like hot sauce or to go box. I'm not expecting him to know the English language fluently and not judging him on that but if you are serving the public then you need to know something to communicate with the non Spanish customers. read more

We were here for New Years eve, family environment. Came to the place expecting that if we pay $30.00 per a gala plate(like they stated), we would have a nice dinner, well we didn't even eat 3 bites, the food was horrible, cold, the rice was hard, meat was dry, no salt.... not worth the $30.00 that we paid for.... not to mention the DJ... OH MY GOD! The man has choose the wrong field for him. As a Colombian you expect to have " traditional music"... We end up paying a very expensive tab for a very poor service, bad food, very expensive liquor... excuse me?? $60.00 for " media botella de aguardiente" that's the price for a 1 bottle.
