We went for fish and shrimp tacos tonight, and unfortunately, they were very disappointing. I've had shrimp tacos all over the country--and even make a great version at home--but these had a strange, not-fresh flavor that was hard to overlook. There was an odd, almost musty taste that really threw things off. The fish tacos were just as underwhelming. The fish seemed like it might have been frozen, almost like cut-up fish sticks, which was surprising and not what we expected at all. Overall, a letdown. The service was fine. The margaritas were ok. Chips and guacamole were good but the fresh salsa just had way too much onion!! Maybe that's why the margaritas didn't taste that flavorful. We ordered burgers. And they were the best burgers in town. It's so flavorful, the burgers were juicy, the avocado, bacon and caramelized onions were great additions to the burgers on top of some special dressing they had. The food was subpar overall. The pastor tacos were dry, and the guacamole was terrible. We came specifically because this was promoted as a destination to watch Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. When the game went into double overtime, the most exciting part of the night, the owner chose not to play the game audio and kept the DJ going instead. What made it even more surprising was that even the bartenders seemed unhappy with the decision. Thank goodness the Golden Knights won, but it would have been nice to have been given a heads-up that the game audio would not continue for the rest of the broadcast. Especially when you're encouraging people to come watch the game, it's disappointing to take away the audio during the biggest moments. Talk about an establishment that doesn't support the Golden Knights or take pride in its own city. For a venue marketing itself as a place to watch the game, the experience fell well short of expectations. read more

The food here never disappoints. Today I opted for the Chicken Mole Tacos which came with rice, beans and chips. The Mole had a combination of sweet, savory and a bit of a kick. It was delicious. The homie had the Adobada Burrito, he killed it before I could ask him how it was. Service is always great as usual. Always greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. When the owner Javi is in the building he makes it a point to greet you and welcome you and engage in conversation. Overall a great place to grab something to eat, from tacos to burritos and the Pozole is definitely worth going for. They are on the pricey side, But they do have happy hour 3pm-7pm Tuesday-Saturday with $3 tacos so definitely come and check them out. Service is nice and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and they do have a Dj at times which can it the vibe going. Stopped in to watch the Stanley Cup Final and grab some food. The food was underwhelming, and while not having a full bar isn't necessarily a dealbreaker, it felt a little odd for a place that seems to market itself as a sports-viewing destination. The real issue was the game. We were in double overtime of the Stanley Cup Final with the Golden Knights playing, and instead of turning on the game audio, they kept a DJ blasting music over the entire thing. Had we known that was the plan, we would have gone somewhere else to watch the end of the game. It was a strange decision considering why a lot of people were there in the first place. Between the mediocre food and the inability to create even a basic sports-bar atmosphere during one of the biggest hockey games of the year, we won't be back. read more

Yummm! This little hole in the wall never disappoints! Once you find the incognito front door, you're in for a treat. Today, we ordered margaritas (traditional & blood orange) with Tajin rims; the chips/guac/salsa plate; taco combo; and shrimp tostadas. So delicious! The kitchen is amazing and the food always tastes like homemade goodness. Servers are friendly and epitomize a team effort with customer service. We were out and about looking for a new spot to try and came across this place because let's face it, the name is hilarious. It wasn't busy and the people working there were very welcoming. For what we ordered, the food came out timely because well, it was pretty much empty when we got there with the exception of the bar area. Now, for the food, if I had to rate it, it would be a 4.5/10. It wasn't terrible but it was very bland. What really annoyed me though was the "salsa". How do you give someone a slurry of soupy, watery tomato puree and call it a salsa? Please figure something out and swap it for pico or something because what I got was abysmal. The verde was eh but I made it work. The rice made me want to cry so i'm not even going to talk about that. The chips with the beans, y'all please stop putting the chips in the beans. I get someone probably thinks that presentation is cool but you don't know the order in which people eat. By the time I got to it, the chips were soggy. I could have probably let that go if everything else wasn't so.................................cost cutting and private equity. It reminds me of watered down americanized Mexican food. Oh and getting a drink? Nah, forgo it. The upcharge on a Jarritos is crazy when you can go across the street and get one for under $1. I wish this experience turned out better but overall, I won't be back or suggest it to anyone. Another disappointing taco quest. Smh. read more

Ate here for my first time in a few years. I enjoyed the Torta Vegetariano ($16.50) with no Mexican cream, with sides of Refried Beans and Mexican Rice ($2.50). Taco Vegetariano can be made vegan by omitting the coleslaw, but I wouldn't get that unless they reduced the price accordingly. Burrito Vegetariano looks like it's vegan as is. I have not been here for a while and decided it's time for an update. Today my wife and I ordered the Chicken Burrito which comes with chips and salsa. Also ordered a side of refried beans, chips and salsa. The Burrito was enormous and enough to take half of it home. The flavor was excellent and I kicked it up with optional Habanero sauce. There were 3 choices of sauce that are provided in squeeze bottles. The Burrito was loaded with chicken, beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, onions, cilantro, and salsa. This was my first time in the Gramercy shopping plaza. I stopped by around 9:30pm on the weekend. Something to note is that this location closes during different times listed on their website depending on how occupied it is. I would always call in to check and see if they are open. Luckily the day I went in they were still opened until around 10:30pm. It's really cutely decorated on the inside and full of color. There was a good selection of options to choose from. My go to dish is always tacos. I ordered 3 chicken tacos. There is an option to add beans and rice on the side as well which I opted out of. The tortilla and salsa are on the thicker side than what I prefer. The flavors and textures along with the meat was still delicious. The sauce that is mild is not spicy at all. This could be a positive for those who have sensitive tummies. If you want to taste a kick I would recommend ordering the spicy salsa. I didn't get to try it this time but the waiters informed me of that second sauce option. read more

Awful place!! They closed their downtown location for a reason. They charge you $9 for a plastic cup of Pacifico and 25% is foam and they can't serve food. At all. Not enough employees. By the time the bartender got to me to take my food order I said forget it. I just wanted out of there. The owner?? What a joke. Wear a LA dodgers hat and is from LA says the F word to everyone at the bar and how he hates LA and thinks he's Vegas. He stood there and was just talking in foul language the entire time. Their downtown location was all over the news because it closed because they couldn't sustain it. Their main place in the Gramercy is hopefully next. I can't wait for this toilet to close. Ambiance?? I was absolutely appalled by the fact that I went for taco tuesday, had to go back to my job sooner than expected, tipped my waitress $15 for four tacos to-go, but was still told by the manager it's dine in only and they "can't be doing that for me". Just ok. When I walked in a woman came up to me and took me to the register and said I had to order and pay now. While waiting for my food I observed the other patrons. When the lady brought my food she came with their three sauces. The bottles are clear and one sauce was completely empty and she rotated the sauces so the empty bottle faced me. The tacos are bland and lacking flavor. The tortillas are bad and fell apart after one bite. The interrior is lively and nicely decorated. I won't be coming back. read more

I ate at Pinches Tacos last night and had a great experience! The interior is cool, they have tables in the front then there's a full bar over on the left side. Service was good, my husband and I were greeted right away and got menus, waters and they took our cocktail order. I got the watermelon margarita and it didn't have much flavor so I wouldn't recommend. But my hubby got the blood orange margarita and that one was much better. For food my hubby got the combo- which is 3 tacos and rice and beans, which he enjoyed. I just got 3 tacos. We both thought the Fish Taco was DELICIOUS! I also got the Gringo Tacos - I asked them to make it vegetarian for me and I loved it! Lastly I got the veggie taco which I enjoyed! Pro tip if you like extra heat ask for their hot sauce! I loved the extra kick and I think it was homemade! We also ordered churros to go- and they were good. The total bill was only $55 and I think that was a good deal!
