This place is great for big families and kids. I suggest looking for coupon, deals, or groupies. It's an old place but worth $100 if u can get a deal

Nice place to relax and enjoy the area. It was very access-able to hiking, shopping & very good restaurants. Also very close to churches

Thankful for cell phones to help make contact and guide us there. The view was incredible. We enjoyed only one meal on the balcony. We were either out to Roswell, Carlsbad, White Sands, or at local events. The lake view, the wilderness, a bear sighting, and gathering our own fire wood all added to this satisfying experience. The local eateries were not bad. We loved the Denny's because of our super waitress's hospitality. Can't stop smokin' BBQ and Sacred Grounds coffee shop were two of our favorites. Longcoat gallery next to the coffee shop was incredible. The level of art was really first class. They say skiing is incredible here in winter. I don't really know, but there are a lot of mountains and pine trees, so maybe so. :-) The other visitors say that flying into El Paso is a closer drive. There are also many Texan visitors who stay in their summer cabin here. Overall, a very rich and rewarding experience here in New Mexico. Yelp 365 Challenge: 41/365

One must strip beds and towels so staff does not have to. The room was not very clean with trash still in the bathroom and bedroom can. Outside lights were bothersome when sleeping. Crown Point Resort Ruidoso, NM…read more We had a very outdated 3-bedroom condo which had a musty smell when entering. We only used the main floor bedroom and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We had no hot water for 2.5 out of our 3 day stay. When we did get hot water, we had to run the water for several minutes before it became hot and then the temperature fluctuated from hot to scalding to warm to VERY hot. Staff were unresponsive, never answered phone calls nor did they return messages when we were dealing with our hot water issues, but the maintenance worker did show up unannounced. The desk staff were not friendly, showed no empathy and were not apologetic to our hot water situation. The (lobby) staff were not friendly other than the person who checked us in and Ansel, the maintenance worker. The shower walls and tub had long hairs on them. The countertops had a lot of knife cut marks and chips, and the kitchen faucet sprayer kept hanging down and wouldn't stay in place. The kitchen cabinets were damaged, and one drawer wouldn't open because the cabinet pull was too big and hit an adjacent drawer. The cookware was the nonstick kind instead of the stainless steel that doesn't have cancer causing PFAS. The parking lot streetlight by our condo entrance had a burned-out bulb which was a safety hazard while trying walk on the uneven brick parking lot, go up & down stairs and use the pathway to the condo entrance in the dark. The main floor toilet tank kept refilling intermittently during the night and sounded like it was flushing which kept waking us up. This issue caused a delay in flushing the toilet and we had to hold the flusher longer so that the toilet would flush. The lamp shades on the main level were either broken, had holes, or were deteriorating. The front security screen had about a 2" gap at the bottom that let bugs in. The main balcony sliding screen had a large vertical rip that let bugs in. There were no TV in the bedrooms. If guests wanted to use the fireplace they had to purchase fake fire logs from the front desk. Our unit's exterior siding was deteriorating in places and some of the siding on the building next to us was either severely warped or had fallen on the ground. The best part of our stay was the quiet location and view of the pine trees.

On both occasions the receptionist Alyssa assured me we would get a call back and nothing. During a time like this I cannot believe they are trying to keep peoples money. The mayor himself discouraged people from visiting. The Innsbrook Village where we were supposed to stay was flooded and even marked on the flood zone map. There was no way I was going to risk my children's safety. Truly apathetic bunch of people

We have been looking forward to this trip for some time now, especially now that it's right around the corner. Sadly, the owners of the Avalon decided to sell their home and it is now managed by Condotel. I was told that our reservation would be kept and someone would reach out about payment. At the time I spoke with Condotel the paperwork for the sell had not been completed. I was told that would happen in early August 2022. I called on 08/01/22 to inquire about the reservation and cost. I was told that our reservation had been kept and then he asked if I had received information on the payment, I said "not yet". He then proceeded to look for the payment information. My family and I had paid $4500 for the rental in 2020, through VRBO. The representative came back to the line to inform me that the NEW owners decided to increase the cost to $12k. I asked to be put in contact with the owners but was denied. Sadly, this was WAY MORE than my family and I could afford at such a short notice, so CONGRATS! to the new owners and whomever decides to rent the Avalon going forward, it will not be us. I do plan on posting this review about the Condotel service and on the Avalon to every media outlet I can find. EXTREMELY BAD EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Gina C.
