The service was friendly, and very communicative. They even left a special treat on the side, which was a box of cookies. I ordered the rainbow freckles pound cake with strawberry milkshake filling.The cake was absolutely beautiful. The birthday girl was literally in tears as she blew out the candles. My only complaint was the cake itself. The flavors were not that tasty, and unfortunately, the cake was very dense, dry, and tasted stale. The strawberry filling was very intense, and grainy and gritty when you bite into it. Definitely a very different texture and flavor that was not favorable to any of the guests that tried it. I made sure to follow the instructions given to me by not putting it in the refrigerator, and keeping it in a cool air conditioned area as instructed. The price was around $270 after I included the tip. Pretty upset that with that many guests nobody really touched the cake because of how it tasted. Amazing!!! I placed an order for my sons birthday cake and not only did the cake look amazing, it tasted great! I also got rice crispy treats and cookies. The kids loved it. I placed my order about a month in advance. Don't wait til the last minute! You never know how busy they can be, and planning in advance will give them time to accept and complete whatever concept you have in mind. I ordered my cake in January for my sons birthday in February and it was a busy time. They were able to accommodate me but there were things that they couldn't do bc of the time frame. I find it interesting to see reviews about accommodation for last minute orders when I called a week before my event just to get pricing and availability on a cake and was told I would receive a phone call after the "cake artist" was spoken to and I NEVER received a call. When I finally called after hearing nothing I was told that according to their notes, I had received a phone call and either way they were going to tell me that they were booked for the requested weekend. Yet when I asked to verify what number they had written down I got a hesitation and was told "well, I actually don't see a number written down".....interesting. Somehow I, according to their records, received a phone call when they didn't even have my phone number. Not to mention, I had a "file with notes" but was asked for all the details of my request all over again. Very happy with Pink City Cakes. I was having a hard time finding a place in the area when I found Pink City Cakes online. It's a bit of a drive but I decided that it was worth a shot seeing as their gallery was gorgeous and they seem to have a lot of experience making children's birthday cakes. My son was turning 3 and we were having a star wars themed party. I emailed a description of what I wanted and sent along a picture from Google of a star wars cake I liked. I got a phone call shortly after and they spent a lot of time working out details and customizing the cake to my needs and budget. I cannot oversell their customer service. They took their time and were helpful in every way. I even arranged a pickup on the day since it was a bit of a drive and it saved me the delivery fee. They would have made the drive, even though I was a bit out of the area. The cake was a big hit and my son LOVED it. The size was generous for the price and the detail was tremendous. I can only speak for myself, but I really enjoyed the vanilla pound cake with oreo filling. They even made each tier a different flavor. Everyone enjoyed it, and I ended up going back to it for a few days since there was plenty left over after the party. I only knocked off a star because the head shape of the Darth Vader helmet was a bit flat, but even that is understandable considering it seems like a rough shape to capture and still be edible, which everything was. Also, if you dislike fondant, this won't be your jam. I personally don't mind it, and it's easily set aside if you want to separate it.
