My pink rose latte was nasty! You know those Asian rabbit candies (I hate those btw), well it tasted like that but melted with fake sugar the kind you get from the easy bake oven it also gave a nasty aftertaste. I tried my daughters caramel frap and it taste like those (cheap) brach milk maid caramels. All 3 of us took one sip and said this is gross! I love pink rose cafe. This place was so peaceful and aesthetically pleasing. My partner and I were looking for a new cafe to visit and this just happened to be on our list of places to visit. This coffee shop has just opened up in the hear of La Mesa. They offer a local roast from Ryan Bros. Coffee and baked goods from a local baker. I had the Iced Americano and a lemon poppy seed scone. They were both very good. The americano had smooth beginning, good flavor throughout, and a little rough towards the end, just to remind you that you are drinking some form of espresso. The scone came with a delicious light lemon icing and was well made. It had that semi-dense nature or good texture and tasted great. You got me with the aesthetic and Instagrammable pink interior and we had to go check it out. Unfortunately the coffee was tasting burnt for me. I ordered a vanilla latte (nothing crazy) and the flavor was off for me. Im not sure if I got a bad roast or if it was because they were semi-busy when we came but it was disappointing. We came early when they opened on a weekday at 7am and they had not set the pastries/baked goods or food out at that time. Lots of seating inside and they have 2 tables outside. Parking wasn't difficult in downtown La Mesa and there's metered, street parking and lots of options. This is also be the trolley so it's accessible via transit. There's another coffee shop across the street too called Lightbulb Coffee in the trolley square that was not open during their regular hours so I think a lot of customers from there came over to get their coffee fix. read more

I'm upset I didn't get the fancy cup for my iced latte. The reason I'm upset about it is because I still paid TEN DOLLARS for one 16oz iced latte. WILD. That's so expensive! Went here on a weekday morning. Ordered a s'mores mocha (which I think was a seasonal drink) and a turkey bagel. It was not too busy once we got there but once he sat down the cafe filled up pretty quickly. Everything was decorated extremely cute, flowers everywhere! With its beautiful pink decor and floral accents, the Pink Rose Cafe is a darling and Instagram-worthy spot. My friend and I were drawn in by the lovely, feminine aesthetic. However, our experience had a few thorns amongst the roses. We arrived mid-morning to find very limited seating inside the small space, so we sat at the counter. Unfortunately there was a strange smell that we couldn't quite place. The teas we ordered, while attractively presented, were cloyingly sweet with no customization offered. The food coming out of the kitchen did look fresh and delicious, with pretty presentation. The ambiance is lovely for photos with the pink rose wall and other charming details. However, the cafe's popularity means cramped quarters and rushed service. Additionally, being downtown, parking was very difficult to find. We circled for 15 minutes before resigning ourselves to a pricey garage. Overall, the Pink Rose Cafe offers cute decor and an enjoyable experience for the 'gram. But the lack of seating, off-putting smells, limited drink options and parking woes took away from the charm during our visit. All of the decorations are so beautiful and attention to detail like that is hard to come across these days. The menu has a wide variety of options, but we went with both the Rose Matcha and Vanilla Matcha. The Rose Matcha had a subtle rose taste. It did not overpower the matcha, which is what I prefer. The venue is a lil small and a bit cramped, and there was a line out the door but we were served promptly and efficiently. Staff was very friendly and our cashier had such a contagiously bubbly personality! The aesthetics of this coffee shop is very niche and cute. My partner had a photo op and I took the best picture of him. I wish there was more space to take photos but it was a bit busy. I ordered the special at time which was recommended by the cashier. Takes way too long for even a simple iced tea. I was quoted 7 minutes (after I had already paid) but it took more like 15. I ordered a Pink Rose iced tea with no sweetener or anything. If you like an attractive place and high priced coffee, I recommend this coffee shop. My friend ordered a simple latte with oat milk. The latte was $6.95 plus .80-.90 cents extra for the oat milk. Mine was a basic $6.95. Most coffee houses in the area,even for 16 ounces are between 4.95-5.95 with oat milk. If you can afford it, the coffee and atmosphere is good.
