Austin Monthly published a list of black-owned businesses in May 2020, so I am supporting as many businesses as my Economic Impact Payment check will allow! I have always been a fan of Tiff's Treats model of delivering cookies, but their limited service areas have been a barrier for me. Pink Sugar Cupcakery to the rescue! Although the cookies are not warm like Tiff's Treats, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to get high fructose corn syrup shipped straight my house. And to the house of others. I would give negative stars if I could. Dealing with this team has been a nightmare. I ordered a simple two-tier wedding cake with delivery; tasting would be in June, according to an employee, Sam. I never heard back and followed up in September at which time I was told by Sam that my order had been lost as they were transitioning, still never having scheduled a tasting. Shortly thereafter, my wedding was cancelled and I sought a refund. Sam mentioned I could transfer the order to a new date and the cake would still be delivered. I then requested a birthday cake to be delivered on 12/26 which was agreed to by Sam. A few weeks later I followed up and was now being told by the owner that they could not deliver the cake (I paid for delivery) and I would need to pick up the cake 3 days before my event. They lost my initial order and now they are reneging on the delivery and date change agreement so at this point I requested a refund. The owner Shelesa stepped in the email correspondence and attempted to cover up their mistake by claiming she texted me about the tasting. I never received any text messages. And why would they switch to text communication when they only communicate via email and even ask customers with questions to email all inquiries. Furthermore, why wouldn't the business then follow up by email or phone call if she did not receive a reply to her text she claims to have sent in regards to a wedding cake tasting? The answer is because she never texted me. Shelesa proceeded to supply excuses about how busy they are. Okay? So wouldn't baking one less cake be helpful? She had so much time to send back and forth emails than to do the right thing by cancelling since they had lost my order to begin with and failed to fulfill their commitment of delivering the cake on the new date and failed to supply wedding cake tasting boxes as promised. After a few more emails Shealesa then obliged to issue a refund; however, by then I had already filed a dispute with my bank. Rather than issuing the refund she promised in email, she continued to stall. Since she had offered to refund me the bank requested that I resolve the matter with the business directly and the case was closed. I then followed up with Shelesa via email at which point she explained she was awaiting the reversal charge through square and she would get back to me. More than two months passed and I had not received the refund, so I followed up. Now almost 7 months later she is telling me she will not refund me after promising a refund. Went back to my bank with this information and they validated my claim and refunded my money. This place is extremely unprofessional and unreliable. If you want a smooth process for an already stressful event I would purchase a cake elsewhere. read more

I put her on my potential wedding cake list for 2022 but then saw on Instagram she was having a pop up sale the day before father's day. I reached out and asked for a customized "Bonus Dad" cookie set and she made it happen with zero stress. Everybody loved the cookies, they were soft, attractive and super yummy.
