My co-worker used to rave about this place and that's when I asked her about her nail spot as my tech was away on vacation. Her nails were always on point so I decided to give this spot a try. With that said, these folks cannot handle real nails with gel. I had the most aggressive nail tech who started off by telling me I had nice natural nails but they were weak; and wouldn't be able to give me exactly what I wanted. What!!? Mind you, she used an aggressive filing tool to remove all my previous gel vs soaking them off. If anything, she is the reason my nails have weakened as she was cheating the method of removal. After I told her I solely wanted Gel X and not Builder Gel (which is costly and can get excessively thick) as she recommended, she told me told me I had weak nails and kept folding my nails to show me they'd break. Her original smile went dull and she spoke her language the entire time while repeating herself about how weak and bad my nails were. Interesting... and rude. She made the entire experience unbearable and made it seem like it was all my fault, constantly reminding me my nails will break and were weak. When I returned to work, I found out my co-worker stopped going to Pinko as her mom had a horrible experience as well after being a customer for years. Long-Time Loyal Customer -- Extremely Disappointed It took a lot for me to write this review because I have been a loyal customer at this location for over 15 years, through changes in ownership and staff. I believe in giving businesses the benefit of the doubt, especially when I have supported them for so many years. I also own a beauty salon in the Willow Glen area, so I understand firsthand that mistakes happen and that customer service is not always perfect. However, over the last couple of years, the communication and appointment scheduling have become increasingly frustrating. For nearly 15-20 years, I have gone specifically to Nina for my pedicures. The staff knows me, they know my preferences, and they know that I specifically request Nina. I normally schedule my appointments about two weeks in advance. Yet there have been several occasions when I arrived and was told I did not have an appointment, that my appointment was at a different time, or that I had supposedly booked with someone else. I know who I book with, and I know what appointment I made. This latest situation was the final straw. I am leaving for vacation and specifically scheduled my Sunday appointment for 11:30 a.m. because I am driving all the way from Lathrop to San Jose. I then received a call confirming my appointment for 4:00 p.m. When I explained that was not the appointment I scheduled, I was told I had booked with someone else. No, I did not. After being a loyal customer for this many years, that response was extremely disappointing. At some point, repeated scheduling and communication problems can no longer be brushed off as an occasional mistake. I value loyalty in my own business, and I make an effort to recognize and take care of the clients who have supported me year after year. I expect the same consideration as a longtime customer. This isn't about expecting special treatment -- every customer deserves good service and clear communication -- but when you know a customer this well and have served her for more than 15 years, there should be some recognition of that relationship. I have supported this business, I tip well, and I have remained loyal even when there have been hiccups. But this experience left me extremely disappointed. Please do better with your scheduling, communication, and the way you handle your loyal customers. Loyalty should work both ways. read more

She left MULTIPLE scrapes on my toes, ant and all cuts were super uneven. This was the WORST experience I've ever had in a nail salon. There was ZERO force applied to the massage. Never have I hated myself for wasting 35$. Manicurist was distracted and didn't look at my toes. She spent 15 minutes max on ALL removing the polish, buffing, and an additional sugar scrub/massage. Before coming to see Daisy, I had such bad experiences with builder gel. My nails would chip quickly, look bulky, and previous nail techs over-filed my nails causing damage. My sister has been coming to Pjnko for years and recommended I see Daisy. Since coming to Daisy, I haven't had any of those issues. She is so detail-oriented and truly cares about maintaining the integrity and health of my nails. She's also incredibly talented with nail art, every inspo picture I've brought her has turned out even better than I imagined. I came in with my sister to do a color change on my toes which were previously white and wanted them repainted white. During my service, I had a Vietnamese woman who I overheard her speaking to her co workers about overcharging me since I was young. She did not expect me to speak Vietnamese but I did understand everything she said as Vietnamese is my first language. Along with this, she only filed off the previous polish off of my toes and didn't bother reshaping my nails or even just cutting them down, which should be bare minimum! When I asked her to cut my nails at least, she tried to charge me for that but her co worker interrupted her and disagreed with her since reshaping is again, THE BARE MINIMUM. After all of this, my toes still looked horribly done. The paint was tacky, clumpy, and extremely uneven. If you guys plan to come here make sure you're aware of how they take advantage of their customers! read more

I happened to be in the area today and in needed of getting my Christmas nails removed, so I came by as a walk in, which is welcome if you don't mind who does your nails. I asked for Lynn but unfortunately she was not available when I walked in. It was still a 45 minute wait, no problem, I went over to Starbucks that's located in the same plaza to get a drink and scroll through reels. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the Owner came over to let me know that it was just another 5 minutes before my turn. Quickly walked back, chose my colors, and guess what! I got Chi Lynn! I think he intentionally planned it out, I am thankful cause I love her! We caught up on each other's lives, and as always, she did such an amazing job with my nails! This is my go-to spot for Gel X nails. I really enjoy my experiences with Han and Tran so I try to book with them when I can! The staff at the front taking clients is always super nice and very appreciative of their clients. They do their best to make you feel welcome. The inside is pretty big and they have many stations for both manicures and pedicures. The pedicure chairs have built in massage functions to enjoy. Tips: 1. Make an appointment online or over the phone for quick service, but no need to make an appointment. They are very walk-in friendly. 2. If you enjoy a more relaxed experience at a less busy time, I recommend going in on weekdays or if you need to go in on the weekend, to try going in before 10am. 3. Sometimes if it's busy and you are trying to get a manicure and pedicure, the staff will come over to try and do the manicure while you are getting a pedicure, but they are ok with doing the services separately, just let them know you prefer that. read more

We walked in and we were able to get a manicure and pedicure right away! That was great! The supplies were good quality and equivalent to many bigger franchised nail salons in the area. The entire place seemed clean. There were a lot of color options. I was obsessed with the lotion smell even after I came home. The technicians were detailed oriented and careful. I would be curious to come back to try their acrylic nails and designs next time! You also get a nice little discount if you pay with cash. I was going to be in town, so I reserved two pedicures online a week before. I called the day of to change the time to later because I knew I was running late. The person on the phone said it would be fine and I didn't feel any judgement at all (as one might feel after missing an appointment). So I was in high spirits before I got there. When we did arrive, the person at the front didn't immediately look up from their phone, which is totally forgivable because I do that sometimes, but when I said hello, they still didn't acknowledge my prescience but waited until they were done doing whatever they were doing to greet me. I thought that was pretty awkward but they didn't seem phased. There are 4-5 seats as you wait -- it's a pretty busy shop. The lady who worked on my pedi said their busy times are the holidays and summertime. So even if you have an appointment, be prepared for a 10 min wait. They do have a bathroom in the very back. I was seated first, and they sat my company a few minutes later, two seats away from me. I'm glad the front desk person noticed, and had the ladies reseat us so that we were next to each other. I planned on getting gel polish and they had a good selection. I ended up going with a green cat eye. The pedi was $47, getting gel was $15 extra, and getting the cat eye design was $10 extra. The ladies were really nice. I get really bad calloused heels, so I opted for the callous removal pedi...they didn't get all the callouses out like other places I've gone to. Since the person I took with me was planning on getting clear polish, they didn't show the ladies a color selection. Because of that, they didn't get their toes painted. They should have spoken up but I also think the ladies should have asked. You can bring cash for a cash discount. Overall, it was a positive experience, but because service was slightly lacking and because my company didn't get all that came with a pedicure, I don't think I'd personally come back whenever I visit San Jose again. read more
