Ok, some people are going to say this place is overrated, but there is a reason they've been in business 80+ years. On a recent business trip I decided to hit Hollywood and Pink's was on my list. This place had a line at 2:00, but not too bad. The vibe is that of a historic landmark- that's a good thing! There is almost no parking, so you will have to park on the street - most likely. Order what catches your eye as there as what seems like a million combinations. I ordered MR. La and the Brando dog. Not that I could eat both but because I couldn't make up my mind. This is not your new york style street dog place. Very LA. the dogs are good with a nice bite to them. The buns are very standard, but the toppings are amazing. They really do a chili cheese dog right here. the french fries were also surprisingly delicious. Nice and crisp with that good potato taste. Just eat your hot dog over the fries and boom you have chilli cheese fries or pastrami fries. Service was really excellent too. The people seem like they want to be there and take pride in what they do. Very nice overall and a pleasurable experience. Super expensive but they fill you up so it is hard to complain. Only reason it's not 5 stars is I just prefer the street dogs outside a football stadium. That's my favorite kind of dog: the street dog. Just went to the OC Fair 2023. Hubs wanted a Pinks hot dog, so I went for the vegetarian dog. It was possibly the worst thing I have ever had. I threw out the 'dog' and just ate the bread. $14 bucks in the toilet (it may have cost more-hubs bought it and doesn't remember the price, but it was expensive). Crap. Heard a lot about Pinks growing up. moved to Vegas 15 years ago then went to LA on a football trip. Had to check Pinks out! Was not disappointed! (Wasn't too fond of their 'New York Style Hot Dog'). The LA street dog was epic as well as Pinks Original Dog. Would come back soon and try their other styles of hot dog. outdoor seating was plentiful, but not sure if the time of day was a factor. The line was very long because of how famous it is. I decided that I had to pay a visit here because of that. The hotdogs were a little above average and had a lot of different options for toppings and different hotdog styles. I would say you mostly come here for the experience of going to Pinks but other than that the hot dogs were nothing special. read more

Went out for some pinks for the first time ever. The line gets really long but I just happened to show up with no one there so we walked right up. I have been getting Pinks since 1986. But I went tonight and I was shocked in a bad way. My BRANDO was lukewarm. There was no line and the whole thing took perhaps five minutes. But the chili was terrible and congealed. Nothing was hot. The bun felt cold practically. The chili was so far from hot that I could have shoved my hand in their pot of chili and no damage would occur to my hand. This type of chili is oily but today it was heavy and not warm and it was congealed. Just awful. What the H is going on? So sad. read more

I stopped by last night with very high expectations. I was seriously let down by the end of the night. The first thing that put me off was how dingy and dirty the place looked when I walked inside, there were several dirty tables stacked with plates. I mean, why don't the servers tend to that? That's what clients look at first! After that bad start, I decided to relax and focus on the food. The hogs dogs were a bit pricey, and weren't that great, to be honest.
