Right off the bat, you know you are in a good place when you venture over to the self-serve coffee bar. They have about five kinds of coffee to choose from, which is awesome for someone like me who enjoys coffee but is no connoisseur. But the BEST part of the coffee bar is the collection of 1980's mugs to choose from. They have to constantly raid garage sales every weekend in search of the most random mugs available on Earth. My first visit, I went in a group of four, and all four of us walked out knowing we found a new treasure. I had the ultimate fried egg sandwich myself...every bite more miraculous than the next. What really separates Pinky's from the rest of the pack is that EVERY-THING on their menu looks like it will change your life. Stuffed French Toast? Breakfast Quesadilla? Oatmeal Waffles? We found ourselves in South Tampa, in the early morning, and realized we were famished. A quick Yelp search unveiled Pinky's so we decided to give it a shot. Parking was a bit challenging for my full sized car (purchased before full sized meant a tiny Kia at Avis) until we realized there were plenty of spots across the street at Cappy's, which doesn't open until much later. Lucky for us, although the uniquely decorated restaurant was full, we put our names on the list and were seated in less than a minute. We had a plan until our waitress recited the specials. Then, one of us changed their plan. Anyway, our brekkie was quite delicious and plentiful and we savored the in-house prepared bacon. Bacon = good. In-house prepared bacon = very good! I can't believe this my first review for Pinky's and been coming here for at least 4 years. Shame on me. So if you know Pinky's then you should know Saturdays and Sundays are the most crowded days. Long wait, depending on how many in your group. If you have a small party chances are a seat at the bar will get you in and out. If not enjoy the free coffee while you wait. Saturdays are the chefs specials which is why the crowds flock in. Weekdays are empty and normal menu. Either way the food is heavenly. Though I myself prefer Saturdays menu. The coffee is yummy and if your waiting why not enjoy a cup or two maybe three if your at the bottom of the list. All I can say is patience is golden, that's the secret of enjoying Pinky's. Two words: Pancake Sandwich!!!! The 45 minute wait was agonizing, but well worth it! Our table of three ordered the Tuscan Frittata, Eggs Benedict, and a platter of eggs and bacon. We also ordered the Pancake Sandwich for the table to split. (After smelling bacon for 45 minutes we were starving!!!) When our food arrived at the table we realized ordered way too much food. The portions at Pinky's are huge!!! After eating a third of the pancake sandwich I was stuffed. I ended up barely touching my Tuscan Fritatta and had to bring it home. Luckily the fritatta reheated nicely and was just as delicious as it was at brunch. All of the food we ordered was fantastic, especially the Eggs Benedict. Back with an update: my boyfriend and I came back here again to see if things would be better this time around. We were seated very quickly and the service was friendly and super efficient. I got another frittata (still awesome) and my boyfriend opted for the Mexican frittata which he said was incredible. It looked awesome, so I think I might try that one next time. I definitely see lots of trips back in my future, especially since the food is so good and the service was a lot better! I think it wasn't quite as busy because we came later in the day and the Gasparilla parade had sort of shut down the area, but everyone was really nice, the service was quick and the food was filling and flavorful. read more

We visited on Saturday morning just before the rush. Our server started off a little rocky but warmed up. She was juggling ALOT of tables. The food was good. The plates were served piping hot. The frittia was made to order and had fresh veggies. It's wasn't really a frittia but more like a veggie scramble not scrambled. I would have liked a bit more cheese. This place was delicious! We went on a Thursday afternoon (135pm) and it was packed! We were finally sat around 2-210pm. The decor and the environment of the restaurant is awesome. When you first come in there's coffee available to drink while you wait, which was perfect (bottomless cups for 2.50). The coffee was hot and fresh! The food was grreeattt!! Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It took us forever to find a parking spot. The parking lot behind the restaurant was shared between a few shops in the plaza. However, every parking spot had a sign that said "not pinky's parking", so pinky's actually had like 5 parking spots in the lot and 2 parallel parking spots. The restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived at around 11:30 am. We got seated after around 15 mins for 4 of us. I got the veggie frittata, with home fries and Cuban bread. I've never had Cuban bread at brunch before and I love Cuban bread so that was a plus. The frittata and the potatoes tasted just like typical diner food. It was good, but not special. Once you make it to the little plaza, the store is located on the corner right across from the pizza restaurant where there is more parking available. (But not really) just be prepared to make turns and wander around until you find one. Make your way to the restaurant and YOU place your name and pray number on the check in sign. Pinky's allows two things that are a plus- serve yourself coffee while you wait OR mimosas while you wait... Not a bad trade off if you need to wait for a while! The customer service is friendly enough for the fast pace and constant movement and people flowing in, we were greeted by almost every server or waiter that passed our table. My friend ordered a veggie omelette minus the cheese with side of fruit and some sweet tea. She was delighted by the flavor and the portion, she had enough to save for later :) I ordered a ham-cheese-egg Cuban press with a side of potatoes and I was more then satisfied. Everything was hot and ready, loved my Cuban press sandwich, had that rich crunch I crave when having pressed style sandwiches. Overall the food was great! Service was good, but the parking brought down the rating for sure. I had been here previously once before and felt I didn't get the full experience so decided to come again - good move on my part, LOL. First, it's very popular with the locals so definitely come early or during off hours - I did Friday lunch and there wasn't a crowd but I heard the weekends are crazy. One word of warning, it's nice they have outdoor seating but it's so close to traffic that the noise was a bit distracting. I had the pancake sandwich and bacon/cheddar grits. The grits were only so so, they lacked real favor. However, the pancake sandwich more than made up for that. It's almost a meal by itself. The ham and pancakes with syrup was a great taste combination - I ordered extra ham, which in my humble opinion, really brought the sandwich together. We got the best damn Benedict which comes with all natural turkey sausage, English muffin, spinach, soft poached eggs, and a savory tomato thyme hollandaise with rosemary potatoes. We also got the Tuscan frittatas open faced omelette with prosciutto, all natural turkey breast, rosemary, spinach, onion, tomato, provolone cheese and rosemary potatoes. For the side, you can choose rosemary potatoes, geechie boy grits, fruit, or whole wheat toast. You can substitute egg whites for an extra buck. Pinkys features an outdoor patio and has an old school diner feel with some old school 1950's pop rock playing. The waiting list clipboard is on a pair of pink legs which is kinda funny. Pinky's has a wide variety of old school funny coasters for $5 each. Theres a fox and a pig head on the wall with some creepy looking eyes. The coffee is self serve for $3. The parking spaces are way too tight. The car to the left of me and the right of me were over the line. Pinky's was pretty busy on a Sunday at 1030 but we got seated within 10 minutes. read more

Pretty cool spot for breakfast in Tampa! I will return often. Great menu with lots of creative and mouth watering dishes. I have to say the service was spot on too. Lots of good energy here. Second time we've driven here and they've been closed. Their Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2017 and their hours there and on google are inaccurate. Someone here needs to figure out where to provide updates for customers and also how to change their hours on the Internet. Seating is first come first served so make sure to check in with the hostess/server and be prepared to be seated outside. While you wait, you can help yourself to coffee and the little coffee corner. Skim milk and half and half are available as are sugar, sweeteners, and raw sugar. Two blends of coffee medium and bold. Coffee is pretty good! I had been eyeing the buttermilk pancakes other tables ordered and couldn't even focus on other menu options. They do have oatmeal pancakes which are blended with the buttermilk batter. Cannot say I agree with the majority of the reviews. First, the wait to be seated is long and most have to wait outside. Fortunately and unfortunately we got a first come, first served table outside. This meant we had to eat our food with people standing around the entire time. Next, we had to keep from being consumed by the ants on the table due to the syrup being left out. The traffic on Bay to Bay is rather loud if you're outside. Might be a better choice to seat inside. If you order coffee you must go inside and serve yourself which might be a positive for some but not for us. We ordered a coffee, orange juice, lunch sandwich (grilled cheese with basil, tomato and prosciutto) and a specialty breakfast item (ham, cheese, and egg sandwiched between two pancakes). Nothing thrilling about the order or the time it took for the order to come. The server was polite even though she was very busy this Saturday morning. We ended up finding her to deliver the check as the food had not exactly settled very well for one of us. This place is so cute! I've been dying to go here, so I'm excited I can share my experience with y'all! The food was excellent! I ordered a classic breakfast with sausage, eggs, Cuban toast, and home fries. The Cuban bread is DIVINE. I highly recommend choosing the Cuban Toast over Wheat Toast. I saw on the menu there was a goat cheese & mushroom egg breakfast option, so I was a little disappointed when they couldn't accommodate putting goat cheese on my regular eggs. I mentioned I understand if it costs extra but our waitress just kept saying "she couldn't do it". I'd also recommend sitting outside because indoors is super hot. But once seated the staff are very friendly, nice and attentive. We had an issue with seating (people kept jumping the line) we mentioned it to wait staff, and the owner came to our table (unsolicited) to understand the issue, and talked with us. Such a really solid owner who listened and wanted to know what's going on with his business, as he is the chief in the kitchen. I came here a year or so ago for breakfast one morning...the place was packed with patrons, the coffee was good and the breakfast was okay. Gave it another today...the place was dead over the breakfast hour, the coffee was okay and the breakfast was terrible. The redemptive part was the server was bright and cheerful, almost knowing that she had to compensate for the poor food. I ordered a fritata which is basically a tiny omelet with the toppings on top but not folded over. The meal came with grits and a piece of toast. I'm not a complainer, but i felt ripped off after dining here. The frirata was not only small but it was overcooked to the point of being inedible. The grits smelled like a wet dog with no flavor...just a bad odor. I get the bill at the end to find that the fritata was 12 bucks and the cup of coffe was 3 bucks...with tax and tip the breakfast was 18 dollars+. South tampa or not, that is a rediculous amount for a lousy meal. I could eat dinner at a decent restaurant for that money. Doubtful the establishment will be around much longer. There are also tables inside with a self serve coffee bar. I decided to order the "best damn Benedict". My Benedict includes turkey sausage, English muffin, poached egg, and a savory tomato hollandaise sauce. For a side I got potatoes. You know how sometimes you love a restaurant so much you'll forgive the worst of things? Pinky's is one of those restaurants. They hit the top three unpleasant situations for me. 1. long waits 2. Bad parking options 3. tummy troubles after eating. But despite hitting these fatal three, I still love going to Pinky's. Perhaps it's because they have the best coffee in Tampa or perhaps it's because of the fun, friendly service, or it could be the fantastic food. Whenever we have out-of-town guests we always recommend they make a stop at Pinky's. In terms of food I recommend any of the benedicts, any of the coffee varieties, jalapeno cheddar grits, Chef's homemade bacon, anything with pork belly, and the Mexican frittata. For those of you who like to have a little alcohol with brunch, they do offer mimosas another specialty morning spirits. I will address my fatal three from above. There is a long wait particularly if you have a party of more than two people and the parking can be tricky due to neighboring businesses being unwilling to share their lots. The way to combat this is to come before 9:30 a.m. As for the tummy troubles, my husband and I both have had stomach pains about 30 minutes after eating at Pinky's on multiple occasions. Nothing serious, no deadly food poisoning, just discomfort about 30 minutes after eating that tends to go away within an hour. This is some of the best breakfast I've had in a long time, and probably my new favorite place in the area. I've been just about everywhere else. The service is great and friendly. Genuine too. Since it was my first time, I had to make sure I could sample a little bit of everything. What caught my eyes first is their oatmeal pancakes on the menu, which sounded unique and different. The were EXCELLENT! Really great flavor. I had them with blueberries. Very large and fluffy and full of great flavor. The blueberries were in season for sure because they tasted great and were juicy. I have never had pancakes that tasted this great and different. I'll be getting those every time I come back. Maybe chocolate chip next time who knows. I also got the eggs Benedict, but I decided to try the blackstone version since it has bacon instead of Canadian ham and tomato and spinach. The hollandaise sauce was clearly homemade and well balanced with just the right amount of citrus. The home fries were nice and seasoned with pleasant rosemary. Finally the cheesy grits were really good and chunky. I can't stand runny or watery grits. Coffee was really great too. Vanilla hazelnut. I'll be back soon to try their sandwiches. Oy... this place! I always have an existential crisis with Pinky's because, time and time again, the food is good, but the service is awful. I hadn't been there in quite some time, but we wanted some breakfast for lunch and were hoping for minimal hassle. It was easy enough to call for take-out, but the pick-up was ridiculous. I went inside to get our two sandwiches while my spouse waited in the car. There was only one table occupied inside and also two people at the bar (there were two occupied tables outside). The only person that seemed to be working anywhere in or outside of the restaurant was chatting with the people at the bar. Not about the food or anything that they needed there at Pinky's, but about some other restaurant. I waited quietly for a few minutes and then began shifting my weight. Finally, I said, "I am here for a pick-up order." The young woman stepped away from the couple with whom she was chatting, but kept talking to them. Okay, fine. She wanted to finish her conversation, but I was trying to ask for ketchup and tell her that we didn't need any utensils. I had also hoped to add a coffee to the order if possible and there was, literally, no chance for me to get a word in edgewise. When I glanced at the couple at the bar, they looked strained, like they wanted to be done with the conversation. I appreciate friendly service, but this seemed to be oblivious and self-centered service. I have experienced some version of this kind of service just about every time I have been to Pinky's. Whether for dine-in or take-out and whether it has been crowded (pre-CoVid) or not. At least Chatty-Patty was wearing her mask. Prices have gone up. I get it. Had breakfast here with some close friends today. Wanted to try something new. The signage isn't obvious so I drove passed it three times. Thank goodness they're popular in the neighborhood and I was able to get better directions from a nearby cleaners then Waze gave. It was a unique place and a breath of fresh air from the usual places we go. Staff was super friendly. At first the wait for our food annoyed me until I realized everything is made to order with a touch of love from the chef. I had the Blackstone Benny no English muffin and hollandaise on the side.
