When my husband has a light morning, we will head over there, sit at the bar and order a delicious breakfast! There's not much turnover, so the staff will know the locals and always greet you very friendly. I usually order a lighter breakfast - egg whites, avocado, wheat toast, and always have to have crispy bacon. My husband usually orders some kind of breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, grits, and a side pancake- which he loves! The food is always fresh, and they have some menu items and drinks that change frequently. There is a coffee bar with a lot of different flavored creamer. (I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I know people love this!) Pinkys has indoor seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. It's a really cute and incredibly delicious breakfast spot! read more

I've been wanting to try Pinky's for months! Last time I tried, there was a 45 minute wait so we opted to go somewhere else. Today we were told about 20 minutes so we decided to hang out. I did not realize how small the place was - they really can only accommodate around 20 people at a time, including the bar + outside's first come first serve seating. We were not told outside was first come first serve, otherwise we would have sat down immediately. We waited about 40 minutes for a table before we were seated. The slow turnaround on tables is not because of service or the kitchen, it's simply because there are so few tables inside that if a party hangs out for awhile after they've paid it makes a huge difference. My friend and I were ready to order almost immediately and both got different versions of the basic breakfast. I opted to not get toast, but it would have been an upcharge to substitute it for anything else. I always hate this about breakfast places, but it wasn't the end of the world. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered my eggs over easy and they were more medium, but once again, not the end of the world. The bacon was delicious and the potatoes weren't too greasy or heavy. It was a nice portion of food and I ate every last bite. Spend 1 year living walking distance from Pinky's and felt as welcomed as a friend by the end of it. Ishtar was a fantastic server and it was always a pleasure chatting with her about our lives. Always looked forward to my first day off after a stretch at work to get the Jamaican coffee and banana oatmeal pancakes. Their menu is appealing to my husband. Irritated beyond words. There was sadly a large group of 9 guys ahead of us and a group of 4, that would no doubt take up several tables in their small space. My stomach went dormant after the long wait and nothing on the menu sounded good after the ridiculously long wait for a seat. We saw a couple that were right in front of us with a small kid leave right before we were finally called to sit down. That's bad. There's only about 5 or so tables inside, 7 stools at the bar and 4 tables on their patio. The hostess is unfortunately our waitress inside, she never once apologized for the seating snafu. She went on about the specials, breakfast burrito wiry chorizo and a scrambled egg with chorizo and super veggie frittata with all available veggies. We ordered the goat cheese scramble with wheat toast and jalapeño cheese grits an hour after our arrival and a super veggie frittata with fruit and 7 grain toast and a coffee with oat milk in it. No waters on our tables after 10 minutes. I had to ask someone else to bring us some water to the table. The other staffer ended up bringing us the Jamaican coffee we ordered 10 minutes ago as well. She brought it out in less than a minute. Here we thought they were making my husband a special coffee behind the counter. It was literally pouring the Jamaican roast coffee from the carafe and a side of creamer. A job our waitress wasn't able to manage. The hostess should not have the job of waiting on tables and checking on seating, she's not good at either job. I think she's overwhelmed and she's not organized to take care of her customers well and she's not cognizant of her lack of attention as being rude at all. The food is finally out after 25 minutes. The grits tastes good, just a tad hard, the corn meal. Good flavor though. The goat cheese scramble is tasty. My husband felt this place really needs to work on burning and turning over tables quicker. There's a lot of things this place needs to work on to be better. The super veggie is so-so, it's bland. I pass Pinky's nearly every day but had never made my way in until today. The outside is a bit underwhelming and easy to ignore but be on the lookout for it because the food was well-priced and delicious. I dined in for breakfast and enjoyed an iced coffee with a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast for $17 and some change pre-tip. The menu had some cool options like a pancake breakfast sandwich and breakfast sandwiches made on cuban toast. They even offered breakfast specials: today's was a strawberry french toast made from cuban bread and topped with fresh strawberry purée, and a version of eggs Benedict that came with turkey sausage and a tomato and herb hollandaise. Having dined there, I am disappointed that I waited so many years before giving it a try. Definitely do not sleep on this place!! Note that they are only open Thursday-Sunday. Went here for brunch the first time ever and it happened to be on Easter. They were open till 1pm so we barely made it lol. It was such a cute little place with quick and friendly service :) I had the Oatmeal pancakes with blueberries and strawberries on top. The server mentioned that I should try it with the strawberries baked in next time. And yes there will be a next time! The pancakes were perfect. Delicious and fluffy! I also had the Classic Benedict and all I did was add some hot sauce, salt and pepper and they were good to go! The hollandaise was nice and creamy and it's made in house. We added some chefs bacon and it is a must have! It's thick and crispy but also perfectly meaty and juicy. If that makes sense lol. They have $3 bottomless coffee as well and their coffee is great. There were only two servers on the clock when we visited, even though Pinky's was pretty packed. Regardless, they were attentive, conversational, and friendly. Major points here for customer service. It's somewhat of a bland atmosphere, which is totally fine. As long as you're with good people it won't matter! Seating is currently limited due to COVID rn, but they seem to be making it work well. Even though seating was limited, parking was still completely full. Quick tip here - you can legally park across the street at Cappy's! They serve bones coffee here. For those familiar with Bones Coffee, it's absolutely spectacular. They were serving the Jamaican blend, which has vanilla and caramel notes. More diners should go this route! Really solid coffee experience here. I had the Asiago Mushroom Frittata with rosemary potatoes. The meal was very pleasant. The frittata could have used some more mushrooms and seasoning (doesn't need any more garlic though!), but I enjoyed it overall. The potatoes were solid. Seasoned well and had a nice rosemary flavor. The portions were a little small so I split a small stack of pancakes with my brother. The pancakes were delightful! Very fluffy and dense. Nice golden outer crust. I'd definitely recommend Pinky's to anyone in the area. I drove 2 hrs to meet some family members here and the experience didn't disappoint. Aaah Pinky's! I frequented this place a lot when i was younger, now every calorie counts lol. Located in the heart of South Tampa, across from Cappy's pizza. There aren't any parking for Pinky's in the plaza they're situated in but you can park at Cappy's. Most of the seating is inside the restaurant, few chairs are available outside. They don't take any reservations or call aheads. I had the ultimate BLT which is what i usually get but it was lacking something, i didn't like the bread they used, not as buttery toasted like i had in the past. My friends loved the Italian frittata, i had a bite and it was very very good. The rosemary potatoes were good too. I usually don't care for the service if the foods good but our server seemed little pissed off, maybe it was because the restaurant was busy or she was having a bad day but it got awkward.. fast. Came here to try it out for brunch. It is small so expect to wait but not too long was maybe 15 minutes. We waited outside but you could get coffee and water while you waited which was nice. Once we sat down the craziest thing happened someone at the bar fell from being dizzy. Our waitress jumped into action told other to call the ambulance and stayed with the customer. Once they were taken care of she came back and apologized about waiting so long to put the order in but me and my friend were of course like are you kidding don't apologize that was amazing. It was okay, maybe a little underseasoned (nothing that some hot sauce couldn't fix!). It came with a side of fruit, which was cut a little smaller than I prefer. When we first got there, it was kind of difficult to find parking....there was a lot of places to park, but it wasn't "supposed" to be for Pinky's customers- a bit frustrating to say the least. When we got there, there was a pretty good wait to be seated. You sort of sign in with your name and how many people there was in your party and wait to be called. Though, no one told you how long you might have to wait. Again, a bit frustrating. But we waited inside because it was rainy and cold outside. Inside, it smelled delicious! While you were waiting, you could help yourself to some coffee (unlimited refills for $3). So that was nice! ended up sitting at the bar area because it was able to cut our wait time down by a lot. Our server was very nice and helpful. Gave us a few suggestions on what to get. Although the pancakes looked absolutely amazing, I decided to try out the Cuban breakfast sandwich with home fries. And I'm so glad I did!!! It was amazing. The home fries might be in my top 5 for best I've ever had. (A little bit on the salty side FYI). Overall, long wait, but its worth it. It's a cup, grits are creamy and smooth ... they sprinkled a dusting of cheddar over them and two slices of fresh jalapeño, I expected more for $1.50 extra. My daughter asked for her bacon limp / soft. This seems to be a challenge for most places because they pre-cook their bacon or bake it. Just take 5 min and sizzle some up ... she wants it limp so doesn't take long. Like most places it appeared they picked thru and grabbed the limpest pieces they could find, but they were beyond oink. This is charming little breakfast spot that I would've missed but for Yelp. It seems so well hidden on its street. The inside is cozy with a quiet, traditional counter and tables lining the partially brick-lined walls. There is antique Tampa art on the walls. We both got the breakfast plate and it was perfect. Scrambled eggs, really excellent sausage (or you can get bacon), rosemary home fries, and toast or Cuban bread. And it's a very reasonable $9, which makes me so happy. The coffee station is self serve and located in the front of the restaurant. There were two coffees to choose from, one regular and the other flavored. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. We arrived at this restaurant at about 11 am, now just left at 1:38 pm. It took about an hour and a half or more to be seated when we were told a 30 minute or less wait. We then ordered and sat for an additional 45 minutes or so before we got our food. We saw a table sit down after us and get our food before us. We saw a table seated 5 minutes before us, walk out the door before we even had our first bite. Although they have a shortage of staff, they need to be a little more transparent with expectations and fair. We waited a whole 2 hours before even eating a mediocre meal. The owner didn't even offer to discount our bill or comp anything as he walked our meal to us. The waitress was very nice and apologetic that's the only reason why 20% was tipped.
