Five Cheese Pizza and Beer Garden... enough said. (okay, I'll add more in case you haven't been privy to go here) The five cheese pizza is a bit expensive, but go try to buy five cheeses and you'll see why. It's excellent!! The Beer Garden is a go-to for unique and very good beers, especially for the state of PA and outside of Philly. The staff in the beer garden are very knowledgeable of their inventory, so if you don't quite know what to get... describe what you like and they can show you around. You don't need to be a beer expert. They also have some on tap and growlers (in two sizes!), if you can't get enough. The beers are expensive, but they're no miller light. (although they probably have that crap beer, too, if that's what you prefer) They are usually 5% and up on the alcohol content, so be careful. Don't let the good taste lure you into drinking more than you should. read more

My mantra is, I have never met a pizza I didn't like. ALL pizza has some intrinsic value. Ellios has a place. Pizza from the school caf holds a special place on my pallet. Well, my manta is dead. DEAD. I have finally met a pizza I could not eat. I ordered the overpriced pizza using their online system, paid the service fee and the delivery fee (plus tip of course), and $45 later my large veggie pizza and anemic iceberg salad arrive. It came quickly, I will give them that. That is the only positive, sadly. The pizza was gag worthy. I wish I could articulate the flavor, but it was indescribable. Ordered a hand made garden pizza... the crust was over done and dry while the veggies in the top were raw. Pineapple pulp was added as a topping which did not taste like one. My wife and I visited Pinocchio's on our visit to Media and had some great food. This was the first time we had a Stromboli and it ROCKED! Their pizza was just as good. Overall, decent pizza - not the best, but good. Good appetizers and beer selection. The main con is that the quality of your food is really inconsistent. One day, it'll be great, perfectly made pizza, but the next, it could be terrible. Also, if you get the Greek salad (takeout), make sure to check for the Feta Cheese. best take out beer in the area-- HORRID food. I kid you not, our family has gotten food poisoning type stuff from 2 out of 4 visits.

First the layout of the place. There is a bar/dining area,off to the left is a kitchen, in front of that is a enclosed area with a separate entrance for take out and around back is the beer garden.I sat at the bar and had a few beers and ordered a mini pizza and a small antipasto to go.I have to say I have never seen so many employees in a place of this size. As I sat at the bar I saw dozens of pizzas going right by me on their way to the dining area. They looked awesome, crust perfectly browned, some I could see the cheese bubbling.So when I got my order back to the hotel room I was shocked, the pizza was not cooked, the crust had no color and the cheese was barely melted,on top of each slice was one scared little piece of pepperoni .I was very hungry and ate two slices and it was so bad I threw the other two away.The salad was good so at least I was full. I dont know what to say,everyone was ordering large pies,I might have been the only mini of the night so the kitchen said lets really screw this one up. I tend to order from Pinocchio's a lot when I'm staying at my bf's apartment in Media for the sole reason that it's pretty much the only place open after 9:30 on a weekend night in the whole town (with the exception of Iron Hill, which I think serves food until 11?). Their pizza is just not good. The crust is too thin and if you get any toppings on the pizza, it immediately falls apart from the weight of it. I've tried the everything, BBQ chicken, plain cheese, and margherita pizzas (beware this one has pizza sauce on it, not fresh tomatoes). None of them have ever given me reason to try them again. Which is kind of weird for a pizza place. Their cheesesteaks are decent, as are the wings and coconut shirmp, but for as large as their menu is, there are very few things that I would order again after trying them. I've heard the beer garden is cool and stocked with a large selection of beer, but for food, I wouldn't recommend coming here before 10 PM and sober. read more

Pinoccchios is one of my favorite places! Pizza is delicious with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese.. they even give you breadsticks at the restaurant.. not much has changed there, which I like, other than the craft brews amazing selection. We were first timers (five of us).. finding Pinocchio's on Google due to their Beer Garden. Spent the day in Philly (from Baltimore) and decided to stop here for dinner on the way home. Great choice! Buffalo chicken pizza and pepperoni pizza were big hits with us and the kids, warm and tasty breadsticks served prior to the meal. Our waitress, Sue, was awesome - very attentive and extremely friendly! LOTS of beer on tap! I went with the Oskar Blues Momma's Little Yella Pils and glad I did. Sue also brought me a sample of Van Diest Früli Strawberry Beer which was very yummy! But much more a dessert beer. Very fruity. They don't make their own desserts, but they were good nonetheless - Hershey's chocolate pie, lemon meringue pie and milkshakes. After our great meal, we wandered next door to the beer garden to create our own 6-packs to take back home. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and will recommend new beers based on your current likes. I walked away with some English and Irish brews and ciders, all very reasonably priced. This establishment is a small neighborhood place, off the beaten path of the highway, but well worth the trip! read more

We had our rehearsal dinner here with 33 people. Up until the night of, I had great communication with Athena - She was super helpful, accommodating & quick to reply. Unfortunately, the night of quickly turned into a mess. They had 1 waitress for all 33 people, she was MIA for long periods of time, & told my mom she was bogged down with other tables & patrons. 2 people waited an hour & a half for their first drink & when I told the waitress that, she sat stone-faced like she had no idea what to do or say. (We had opened a tab for our guests so all orders needed to be handled by the waitress). I'm assuming she ended up asking for help because a more pleasant girl came up to take orders, bring food, refill water pitchers, etc towards the end of the night. In short, they did not staff for the event & it quickly became stressful & disappointing. The food that did come out was good & enjoyed by most, but I could never in good faith recommend this place for an event. read more

Called this place for delivery, ordered the Italian stromboli. I told the lady I wanted the 12 inch one and she asked me what size that was.....um...isn't that your job to know the menu? she asked for every piece of information at least 3 times (phone number, what the order was, etc.) she clearly just wasn't paying attention at all. We went to pick it up and the woman who checked us out was having a non-work related conversation with a co worker the whole time while she was helping us. We get out food home, open it up and its a cheese stromboli with tons or sauce on it. This is a problem because I am lactose intolerant and allergic to tomatoes. (the Italian does not have sauce and we had ordered it without cheese.) We didn't even bother taking it back because we had no confidence that it would come out correctly the second time around so we pitched it. We'll be going to Apollo's from now on. I've always liked their food better anyway. The beer garden is nice. I love being able to get singles without having to drive to total wine in Delaware. read more

I have been a faithful customer of Pinocchio's for about 25 years! I love their pizza, strombolis, cheese steaks, chicken steaks, burgers, curly fries, their house salad with grilled chicken, and of course their Fajita Thursdays with the best salsa ever and $2 margaritas!!! If you haven't tried it yet- order a small (12") Buffalo Chicken Pizza, it comes with Bleu cheese on the side, it's awesome. Plus, if you sign up for their preferred customer club on their website they send you a postcard on your birthday for a free dessert & you get entered into their monthly drawing for cash prizes- VERY nice. Seems to be going downhill lately. Was hard getting the waitresses (Desi) attention, she seemed pretty focused on the guys drinking at the bar. I had to ask someone to get her twice. Ordered a large everything pizza, only ate two slices, asked for the rest to be put in a box, they came out with two small pizza boxes with all the slices crammed in there, no paper in between. Finally getting a chance to praise the most unlikely elite craft beer location in Philadelphia. Pinocchio's is a family pizza establishment which has stood the test of time (60 years!) and is an indelible aspect of the culture and experience of Media, PA. That pizza is good, the Stromboli (and especially the meatball Stromboli) is great, and the fresh roasted turkey and cheesesteaks are outstanding (special nod to the best chicken cheesesteak in the area). That said, the reason this is a 5 star review is that the Beer Garden is a must visit location for any craft beer fan in the Philadelphia area. The draft list is large and expertly curated by a cicerone and other highly-knowledgeable staff. The community which has grown at this location is knowledgeable and welcoming, even in the tiny dimensions that the Beer Garden occupies. The family which runs the restaurant/beer garden are present all the time and put enormous effort into making it a quality experience for a highly diverse crowd (a party for 6 year-olds in the front, a bridal shower in the room upstairs, and a tasting of barrel-aged craft beers in the garden). It's so tough to review pizza. Everyone has a style, crust that they prefer. It's just not fair. Pinocchio's should be reviewed for everything else they have to offer and how well they make their style of pizza. Thin crust, good sauce and decent cheese sums it up. Their specialty pies are very good too. My favorite is the Buffalo chicken. I usually don't get anything for my main course but pizza, but the couple times I did order a steak or hoagie, it was decent. Apps are pretty standard, however the onion rings are huge and battered nicely. The wings (the HOT ones) are ridiculously good. They leave your lips tingling. My kids love it here (they get a ball of dough to mess around with until food comes.) There's always a good selection of soups of the day. Their chili is decent. And what makes this a 4-star spot for me is the BEER. Delaware County has a severe shortage of places to sit down and have a good pie and drink some decent beer. Pinocchio's usually has some sort of Bud/Bud Lite or other mass produced style on special during a Phils' game. I'll partake of that every now and then. But the real stars here are the craft beers that are rotated through the taps and the myriad of bottles you can select from the beer garden. It's a perfect marriage, beer and pizza. Prices are right where they should be. Parking is tough, especially Fri. and Sat. nights, but it isn't a deal breaker. For me personally, service has been good about 9 times out of 10. And that one time, it wasn't terrible, just not as good as others. Very few repeat eateries in Delco, but Pinocchio's is definitely one of them. read more

I used to love this place and we had a tradition of going there around 11:30 to midnight. Not anymore! It seems that the staff there does not want to really work to closing time at 1:00. They start cleaning at 11:30 and the ammonia smell is horrendous while you are trying to eat. Last night, while we were eating a guy came out and started mopping the floor right under our feet! I asked him to stop and he did... but the damage was done. The stench of ammonia ruined the meal. It's a shame because the pizza is great but I find it hard to come back to a place that can be so uncaring to its patrons. I guess they forgot that without us, they have no business. I think I'm not the first to experience this. The last 2 times I have been there I have never seen so few people there on a Saturday night. read more

Love this place! I live within walking distance and have had the best experiences with this place. From pick up to dine in, their food is consistent. I mainly order pizza, and I think it's the best in Media. If you order on-line you earn points towards free food, SCORE! They recently held an anniversary event, open to the public, and it was a great time. They appreciate the loyalty of their customers, which shows! I grew up in North Jersey where there were quality pizza shops everywhere. When I moved to Media I was so disappointed with the pizza in the area - until I came to Pinocchio's! I was treated very badly there by the year ago got tired of every time I ordered they always had my food wrong and you hardly ever found out to you got home with your food the N word was you there the night that I had a problem with the manager because my food was made wrong he promised me it would be remade the next time I came so when I came back maybe a few weeks later and I always spend 25 + 30 $40 whenever I do go that store and I'm not a bum and I don't try to get anything for free and yet when he took my information to give me what he said he would give me the next time I came in when I finally did go back to to get my credit plus I was going to spend about $21 he tells me that I'm in there trying to get free food that my name is there and nobody ever took my name down but I recognized his voice and knew it was him and I believe his name was Chris he was the manager there and he threatened to call the police on me the N word was used and it ain't the first time that I seen racial bullshit at the North Hills will never ever ever go there again they don't even deserve a star read more

We have been here so many times tonight we went there again but this time I feel that the waitress was not happy to have to serve us she was short and so apparently not happy that she had to serve us like I said before we have b there numerous time all of us r servers so we have always tipped 20% or more however tonight the serves was so bad I only tipped her 15% I have no idea y the servers there go out of there way not to serve us we always ask them if there cut we would b happy to pay r tab and go to the bar area but they always say no I'm here all night it's fine. Well apparently that was not the case she NEVER came over to ask if everything was ok we waited 1/2 hour to get around of drink there was only 4 of us only 3 were drinking when she finally came over we asked for one more round and we would take the check and a box for the remaining pizza that was left a few minutes later she threw the check on the table and 5 Minutes later she threw a box at us for the left overs at this point I was pissed really not even thank u nothing she literally threw the check on r table and walked away I kno her name but I am not going to mention who she is mayb she was having a bad day however as I said I work a full time job and on the weekend I work at a higher end restaurant and as always before r shifts we r told that these ppl choice to dine with us so make sure they have a great experience there has been a few times I have been tipped $15. On a $170.
