So I asked the food server what she recommended. That wouldn't have been a problem, except that she didn't speak English. But she could speak Spanish. Only...I didn't know how to speak Spanish. Claims to be open 24/7, if you go after 12am when usually everyone is calling an end to the nightlife they don't have anything available and tell you the wait would be around 2 hours. I don't believe that a restaurants should claim to be open 24/7 and not have the menu available. The best way to avoid an upset customer like my self is to strategize a marketing plan and set a limited menu after 12am and let it be known. If they did that then the consumer won't set their expectations on high, just to be let down. Then again you can't expect much management from a cafeteria style eatery. This might have to be one of the best fritangas in Miami. You can smell this place from a mile away. One thing that gets me here is the parking and the brutal line. It is always packed during the day and let's not even talk about weekends. The variation in food is great and there is plenty to select from. Customer service isn't great but the location and the idea of it makes sense because in Nicaragua this basically street food. So don't expect good customer service but the food is amazing. My son and SO stopped by to grab some food, he had called me to tell me his experience with the service. He had informed about the workers who were behind the food counter. They were speaking Spanish and mimicking my sons ticks. He is the autism spectrum so every now and then he will have his ticks. I find this to be highly disrespectful on every kinda of level. My son can understand when someone is making fun of him and to have this kinda of behavior in a business establishment is beyond me. Absolutely love this place. The line is constantly out the door, and for good reason. For under $20, my husband and I bought 2 take out boxes filled with food. The carne asada comes with 2 sides and a salad for about $8. The carne asada is juicy and tender, cooked perfectly. And they are definitely not stingy with the gallo pinto. Only wish they would have given us more of that delicious sauce. We also had the queso frito and the fried corn tortilla burrito. That burrito is it's own meal! What an awful experience I just had. I ordered the Carne Asada to enjoy it after a long day at work. I get home and find that there a small decent size of meat and a barely small piece which really shocked me knowing that they used to offer bigger pieces before. I had to drive back from my house wasting gas and time because of this and yet they couldn't even apologized the right way and offer something better but excuses. I advise everyone to inspect their food from now on before stepping out and waste your time. I won't take it that their food is good. But their service has never been their best. Traditional plate comes with gallo pinto (rice and bean mixture), maduros (sweet plantains) carne asada, and maybe some queso frito (fried cheese). As you could guess its very "heavy". As for the rice, the flavor was extremely good but what makes this place a 3 star instead of a 4 is the fact that the rice was undercooked. Ok. I went in here looking for baleadas. I just had a conversation w a woman from Vera Cruz and wanted great Mexican food... basically none existent in Miami. And you might say, well baleadas are Honduran, so I'm even further off base. But after the conversation I was sold on any Latin-American cuisine that sounded amazing. Through a Yelp search this place caught my eye and WW, it won't be my last visit. Perhaps the most delicious steak I've had in Miami and look, frankly, the food in this town is less to be desired. The ropa vieja and the picadillo are decent but NOTHING like what Mexican cuisine has to offer. So regardless of what this Nicaraguan place does, they do it right. If your looking for a real full meal in Little Havana area, this is the place! I've been coming to Pinoladia for years and it never disappoints. Like most people, I got for the Carne Asada Meal. Along with Gallo Pinto (Rice and Beans mix), Maduros, and of course the best Queso Frito (Fried Cheese) period. One of few restaurants open late, except Wed. If you go late, to some people the place might look "sketchy" but it isn't. They always have a security guard outside, no one messes with you and I've never seen anything bad happen their late at night, and I go eat late at night at least 2-3x a week at Pinolandia It's not the ideal place to sit down and eat but you can. They recently got about 3 new big flat screen TV's which was great during World Cup period. Only drawback for me is that the line is sometimes long but you'll be ordering your food before you know it and it's well worth it. Staff is respectable and they move quickly with food orders because of the demand for it. Enjoy! read more
