8-6-25. Located in a small tucked away spot within a nook just off a very pedestrian busy Kennebunk downtown street. Their offerings aren't as big as other ice cream shops in the area, but they are of decent quality. I came here primarily because a short time earlier, I ate at "The Crab Shack" around the block and over a small bridge in Kennebunk. They provided me with a "buy one single scoop cone, get one free". So being the frugal foodie I am, decided to capitalize on the 2 for 1 deal. Not sure if it's worth paying full price for.....but the "deal" certainly made it palatable. Everything in the area is overpriced because it's an extremely touristy area that relies heavily on summer business. But the young gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant and a hard worker, so I recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area and in mood for some ice cream. read more

The blueberry ice cream is excellent. Aunt Marie's ice cream is made by Gifford's in Skowhegan, Maine. I subtracted one star because the selection of flavors is very limited, 8-10 flavors. And the cones they use are pitifully tiny. The small cone ($6) is a baby-sized sugar cone, and the "large" ($8) is a slightly larger but stubby cake cone. Best whoopie pies in Southern Maine. They are the size of a big hamburger and absolutely to die for. They aren't dry like many others you buy around but moist and scrumptious. Black rasberry regular cone and the campfire s'mores regular cone. In the heat of summer I should have gotten the black raspberry cone instead because that was so much more refreshing than my super heavy campfire smores cone...both delicious but would definitely go for the fruity ice cream next time around! Loved the lobster roll, ice cream and lemonade! Their lobster roll was the best one I had during my recent family trip to the east coast. Not too much mayo, light and tasty! I'm just sad I decided to split it with my mom. Other rolls in New England do not compare. I tried rolls in Boston and Portland, Maine but was sadly disappointed. This is a window in town that serves food. Ice cream mostly but they advertise the best lobster roll in town so I had to try. It is a hot dog bun full of lobster. The unique thing is it also had lettuce on it. The roll was warm and the lobster cold. It was really good and a nice price. There is only one guy working the window and doing everything. So we went here for the first time to have ice cream. We both got the peanut butter pie, which was very good. The regular size was 2 decent size scoops of ice cream. The next time we went my boyfriend had the lobster roll and I had the hot dog. The lobster roll tasted really good, the lobster meat is from the clam shack. It's a decent price and if you are looking just for a small roll to hold you over, this is the place to go. I had the cheese hot dog with ketchup and onions. Save room after hitting up the clam shack. You get a discount here for ice cream! They only offer a few flavors, but it is solid, and they give you a good size amount for the price. I had some raspberry/vanilla/chocolate ice cream. I forget the name of it, but it was solid. FYI - this place is a hole in the wall, so there is no indoor seating. Luckily the weather is nice enough that you can walk around the quaint little town while licking up some delicious yummy ice cream. If you haven't stopped at Aunt Marie's for an ice cream in KB, you're missing out. Get the Muddy Boot ice cream, regular size cone comes with two flavors and is pretty darn good size. Lobster roll is good but my wife and I are starting to think that most of these places figured out it is not that hard to pick up a bunch of hot dog rolls and fresh lobster meat since we're in Maine after all, making it a fairly overpriced commodity. Before you go to Aunt Marie's drop by the Clam Shack around the corner. Each time Sarah and I ordered from there, we received a coupon for a 2-for-1 ice cream at Aunt Marie's. I'm not sure if it was just a promotion that we caught, or a long-term thing. Aunt Marie's is a tiny ice cream shop with just a window facing Ocean Avenue. I would say you'll need to look closely to find it, except there is usually a small crowd milling around it, so look for the crowd. They serve very good ice cream. I'm not sure who makes the ice cream, but it is very rich. Among them was a mint ice cream that was the mintiest we've ever had. No flavors disappointed, and you won't be, either. We went back there a couple times in our short trip. Suggestion to Marie's: put example cones out front with labels below them to try to curtail the repeated confusion about what's a regular cone vs a sugar cone vs a waffle cone. read more

Flavorful, creamy, local-made ice cream--just marvelous. Portions are generous, especially if you go to the Clam Shack for your previous meal and a free coupon. My personal favorite is the Maine wildberry flavor, which featured delectable chunks of local berries, but the more conventional flavors tasted excellent as well. I had a great experience at the Clam Shack and was given a coupon to check Aunt Marie's out. I ordered the lobster roll, 2 smoothies, the lemonade, ice creams and some other food for the kids. We paid over 50 bucks and when I mentioned I had the coupon, the guy said it was too late. I asked for a free ice cream if it was too difficult to get a refund for the difference as that made sense. The guy was a jerk and wouldn't provide it. My neice was looking forward to trying another flavor as well... well suffice to say, this is a shop I will never come back to. Also, the guy wasn't using gloves either... it was a little disgusting in his food handling... especially making the lemonades. What you get hiring a college kid who doesn't know better. It's a tiny window around the corner from the dock. We tried chocolate and the caramel caribou (sp?) flavors. Both are delicious. The caramel one is vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl and chocolate chucks in it. I loved it even though I normally don't like things in my ice cream.
