A family friend had a wedding upstairs here and it was great. We arrived a day early were staying in the hotel across the parking lot basically so we went over and had lunch and some drinks. We played bocce which the kids absolutely loved. That day the kids had the lil burgers with fries and bread sticks which tasted good. Then for the wedding dinner we got to have what I think was manicotti then we had the risotto which was my absolute favorite along with salmon. There was also pork and asparagus and two different types of salad. All the food was delicious and the service was great. Then on sunday they have a huge buffet style brunch that was fantastic. If you go for the brunch buffet you want to call and make a reservation. I highly recommend this place for a casual dinner or some sort of event!!!! read more

I have ordered many meals on the menu and everything has been delicious. The bowling and the bocce are a lot of fun. My kids always have a great time here. Held a work event here recently for about 25 people. Robyn was amazing to help coordinate my event and was very accommodating when I had to change the date of my event at the last minute. We reserved two indoor bocce ball courts, the area was very spacious and allowed for people to mix and mingle with drinks while waiting for a turn on the court. Banquet food was good too - chicken skewers, veggie platter, meatball and chicken parm subs and stuffed mushrooms were all yummy. The extensive wine list was a hit! Plus our server Jon was easy to work with and kept my coworkers well lubricated. Easy enough to pay the bill at the end of my event. Would certainly host another work event here soon. Great concept but every time I go, we just end up eating and not paying attention to the game. That's not their fault. Service is okay. It's just a good place for all ages to go, but if I had to choose, I wouldn't go. I love competition and bowling, but having children around really takes that away. And although the couches are very comfortable, I always manage to sink in and never get up. Also, they were very slow with our waters the last time we were there. read more

We have been there with and without the kids and our experiences have been good ones. Nice place. My friends and I went there last week for their happy hour. Their pizzas and flatbread were delicious. Our server was great. The only thing was that when it was getting late, the stuff were getting less attentive. We wanted to order another round of drinks before going back home, but could not find our waiter. We went on Mother's Day for Brunch at 12:30. Reservations were made weeks in advance and we were told the price would be $28 for adults. The two hostess at the restaurant entrance were very frazzled and told us to wait on the side, our table was being cleared and it would be a few minutes. Well about 15 minutes later there was a line of people with 12:30 reservations and they wanted to seat us outside and we said no. Then they seated us at the end of an indoor bocce ball court at a table with not enough chairs. We waited for the chairs, but they never came. We decided to talk to a manager, who moved us to a table in the dining room. So we thought we would enjoy our brunch but unfortunately the food was not very good and most things were cold. Waffles were cold and hard, breakfast potatoes were soggy, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches were all dried out sitting under heat lamps. The entire buffet was a mess, food spilled everywhere. The donuts and pastries were grocery store bought quality. Some things were good, like the omelets were cooked to order so they were warm and delicious, but the omelet bar had spilled food everywhere. The prime rib was delicious and carved to order. They had a large selection of pizza which was good, but not really a Mother's Day brunch item. The bill came and they charged our daughter under 5 the wrong price and added an 18% gratuity for our party of 6. Our waitress was nice, but all she did was get our drinks. Plates did not get cleared from our table very quickly. Not sure she deserved a $23 tip, but we had no choice. read more

Didn't make me feel comfortable and I had questions of pricing and menu which I got a response that was snobbish and made me feel like not setting up a birthday event. She not explain anything well. Been to this location a couple times for a work event and a night out with friends. Have to say service was friendly but not very prompt, at all. I felt our server was overwhelmed with too much going on in the bowling area. I feel like the building is too big for its own good in a way, as a simple request for more ketchup takes over a minute, or drinks 5 minutes, because our server had to go so far for everything. I remember the same problem at a work outing in which we just ended up and getting drinks at the bar ourselves rather than wait on a server. Been here several times. Actually attended a wedding reception here which made nice use of the upstairs space. It isn't huge so I would say if you have around 100 people it is a good fit. I'm gonna diverge from the consensus here and say that I like this place as a dining destination. It's not the kind of place you go just for food - you can get much better food nearby. But if you want good food and good service in a lively circus environment for a very reasonable price, give it a shot. My girlfriend and I stopped by here when I got off work to have a drink. Surprisingly it was happy hour. The customer service was fantastic the food was just OK. So disappointed in our experience here. We came with 5 kids and 4 adults to bowl. Very poor service. It took longer than normal for a server to come & greet us, we had to press the service button to place our order. They brought our food with 3 utensil settings & when we asked for more, we waited, & waited, & waited. Drinks were empty with no server coming around to check on us. It looked busy when we first arrived, but became less so. Too bad since we were scouting this place for a potential party. Have been here many times because the concept is fun. Bowling, Bocce and music. Atmosphere is fun. Service is not that great ever. The bar service is horrible. Try and chase down your waiter. Tonight went for my son's birthday. Service started out great. By the middle I had to chase down our waiter. Not sure what happened. Kids went to bocce and we sat outside. It took 20 minutes to find a waiter outside. I flagged one down who told me she will find our waiter. Ridiculous! I will still come here but its frustrating. read more

Very good place if you just want straight up american and italian food. To start, the bowling alley is very nice and spacious. The service is also very good here at the restaurant. I tried the spaghetti and meatballs, prime rib sandwich, and chicken marsala. The prime rib is fantastic, flavorful and tender and the pretzel roll is a nice change of pace from the typical french bread on most prime rib sandwiches. The spaghetti and meatballs are the best I ever had. The meatballs are amazingly tender and juicy and the sauce is incredible as well. I wish however that the spaghetti had a little more sauce for my taste. The chicken marsala was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so good and a great consistency in the sauce. The side of parmesan risotto is to die for, and I am not a big risotto fan. It has the right texture and amount of Parmesan cheese. Check this place out for good classic italian food and I will come back to try some other menu items. read more

This place is perfect. I'm actually extremely surprised at all the negative reviews -- I've had nothing but great experiences here. For one, the service is just excellent. Every time we go, we get the best waiters; they're so attentive and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the lasagna (to die for!) or the steak. Also, I practically live off the bread you are served right when you sit down. The ambiance is great, and the view from the outdoor seating is beautiful. Bocce is a blast. Food was okay, but the overall experience was severely lacking. Service: Service was poor, unfriendly, and lacking overall. We were seated promptly but waited over five minutes for anyone to stop by our table for the first time. Waitress (Jessica) seemed to take pride in using the least amount of words possible and seemed bothered to have to wait on us. We had to ask for bread plates, silverware, and napkins from another waiter because our waitress didn't provide them and was nowhere to be found. I went here recently with some friends on a double date. We had made a dinner reservation and had to wait anyway b/c they did not have our table ready and they blamed the guests for our wait. The food was decent. The service was so-so. The wait staff was very pushy and seemed to rush us and wanted the table to be turned over to new guests. We went to bowl afterwards and (of course) our lane, which was reserved, was not ready for us and we had to wait... again. When we got to our lane there was milk all over the table and the people across from us took up all of the seating area. They also filled the entire ball area with theirs. This would be a minus one star if it was possible. I recently attended a retirement party and had quite a few disappointments. However, I will begin with a positive. Our servers were friendly, respectful, and attentive. Now for the reasons why I would probably never return to Pinstripes in Northbrook unless they made some improvements and offered me a solid reason to return. While the appetizers were presented nicely they were mostly bland, mostly low quality frozen mass produced food items that were doctored up, and the $9 glass of Pinot Grigio was so sulfite laden that I was sick before I even left the restaurant. I am still paying for it today with a killer migraine. I understand that Pinstripes is a chain restaurant which I do not often frequent but the food and drinks should be of higher quality. read more

I recently went to Pinstripes for a group outing. The cost of beer was $1 more for our group (which made a domestic bottle of beer $5.50) than at the bar for walk-ins because we had a waitress assigned to us. This extra fee was never explained during the booking process and when addressed with the manager she was unable to correct it. As a matter of fact we were told we weren't allowed to go to the bar and order although some of our group did. We would have eliminated the waitress had we known about the extra charge. When the bill came there was also a $125.00 charge for the waitress. Seems like overkill. To make matters worse, as a group you get bowling for a certain amount of time and they do not bend at all. One group in our party had one frame left and they shut the game off anyway. Finally we had a buffet and although most of the food was good the burgers were extrememly rare (moo). Three people in our group reported that they got sick. We finally figured out it was probably from the pasta salad. Overall, a very poor experience. read more

I really like Pinstripes. The whole business model is great. But this location has one major issue: it is SLOW. We had a party of 6 on a Sunday at 5:30 PM. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks right away. When the drinks were served we ordered appetizers and our main courses at the same time. Food came pretty quickly, and I have to say it was great. I had the Roasted Cauliflower Pasta which was light yet filling. When we had finished our meals it took us a while to flag down our waiter to order dessert. Once we finally did, we ordered which came at a normal pace, and once we had finished dessert and wanted our check, our waited had disappeared. We waited for 20 minutes before we could even find him to get us our check, and then it took another 15 minutes for him to bring the card back. The place wasn't even busy. It was unexpected and a little annoying, but I try to give our very kind waiter the benefit of the doubt. I will not let this deter me from coming back, but I would like to see this location step up their service a little! Overall though, great food, great atmosphere, and a whole lot of fun. read more

The hipsters are more prevalent at the downtown locale. $55 for 1 hour of bowling and $80 for 2 hours on a Saturday night so probably not a time to practice your skills. This was my first visit to Pinstripes and I thought it would be a noisy place being that there is a bowling alley & bocci ball court inside....but no, they have a lovely dining area that is very upscale and an outdoor seating area as well. My friends and I decided to dine inside (lunch). They have an extensive lunch menu. For $10, you can get a sandwich with either soup or salad, flatbread and salad and drink is included...more choices too. I had the chicken dumpling soup for $5 and it was more like a meal, or a chicken stew, than a soup. Will return! read more
