Best Tom Kha soup our family has ever had! I also had the red curry with chicken that was just spicy enough. I really enjoyed everything. Friendly service w a smile. I'll definitely come back!

I used to go to this cute little place called Pinto on Adams Ave in Normal Heights. Out of curiosity, I looked up my old review and clicked on the link for their website, and that's how I found Pinto Thai Bistro. Thought maybe they relocated, but no, this is a family run business that has been open for 12 years! Dang, I must be living under a rock! I can't believe Erica P didn't tell me about this place! They are located in a small strip mall with ample parking!!! Friendly greeting when I walked in. The dining room is cozy, but I was getting food to go. I ordered the usual as a good test: fresh spring rolls with tofu, panang curry with chicken, pad see ew with chicken, and garlic pepper stir fry with beef. The spring rolls were great! Nice fresh vegetables and that peanut sauce...Mmmmm. Delicious panang which is my favorite! The pad thai was good as well, though not enough bean sprouts. The pad see ew was very good! I really liked the garlic pepper stir fry but should have said mild, cause my mouth was on fire! Each dish tasted different and I felt was more authentic to Thai cuisine. My nephew's wife said it tasted like the food she grew up with in Thailand. I also really appreciated that the way everything was packed to go. Definitely worth coming to and seriously, one of the best parts is easy parking! It took me the same amount of time if I went to that other place where you're circling around and trying to find parking.

One of my favorite places. The lunch specials are the best. The mixed vegetables with shrimp is my go to! My mom got the Thai basil noodles and while she didn't like them she was glad to try something new. The Thai iced tea is the perfect drink, not to sweet. The lunch special comes with a soup and it was so good, a little spicy with vegetables and cubes of tofu. The service is amazing and the restaurant is small but it doesn't feel small, it's really cozy.

I still love this tiny Thai restaurant. It is so cozy. Food is always delicious. I love their pad thai among other items. My family loves them too! They are right next to Round Table, definitely try them out!

Had a lovely dinner with the hubs on a Friday night . Service was great and the ambiance was relaxing . Will definitely be back to tryout more items from the menu .

I came for lunch on a weekday. It was not busy. The parking lot and restaurant are small. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken lunch special. It was a really good deal. The lunch special came with soup, salad, potsticker, and egg roll. Everything tasted good. I asked for the hot spicy level but felt it was not hot at all. I asked for chili oil to make it more spicy.

A small, cute thai restaurant in the Tierrasanta area. Service was excellent, staff was attentive and pleasant. I only ordered the glass noodle soup with chicken, mild spicy and it had a nice kick to it. I def enjoyed it. Unfortunately my friend and I were in a rush but i will def come back here to try other items on the menu.

Best food in Ramona! Never had a bad experience. It's adorable and clam inside so I love to sit down, but picking up is so fast and easy. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Definite go-to

Can't believe that Chun P and I have lived in Tierrasanta for 2 years and we just finally tried Pinto Thai. We arrived at on a weeknight and were welcomed kindly, only one other diner was in the shop but lots of folks were coming to-and-fro getting things to-go! Pa-nang curry was a bit spicy for my wimpy taste level, but the Massaman curry was just right. Thai veggie egg rolls were a tasty appetizer! The restaurant is cute and modern - plenty of options for neat pics for you Instagram types. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Maybe they were just having an off day today, but I thought this restaurant was just barely OK…read more After hearing how good it is for so long I was a bit disappointed TBH. I went with one of my girlfriends tonight at about 5:30 PM. We were quickly seated. I ordered a mango lemonade, which came out quite fast and was beautiful. It tasted pretty good too. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

Fantastic window into Laotian food!…read more Nam Khao Tod is consistently fantastic, just an explosion of flavor in every bite. Khao Piak Sen is typically very flavorful. I love the starchy noodles and how it thickens the chicken soup. The Lao sausage is also delectable, comes with a fresh and herbaceous sauce with a side of Lao glutinous rice made presumably the traditional way, soaked in water then steamed. It has a wonderful chewy texture that's different from short grained glutinous rice. All of it is amazing and it's hard to deviate from the regular rotation, but my eye is on the Khao Soi and avocado curry next. No complaints about the ambiance, it's cute with plants and wooden tables, and the bathrooms are very clean iykyk. The owner is there pretty consistently working, a sign of good business practice!

It can get pretty busy so do Depending on the time of day, it can get busy, but there are usually enough spots to make it manageable. Seating: Inside seating that's casual and comfortable with enough room for let's say 15 groups good for pairs or families. Vibes: Welcome to City Heights! It's not the flashliest place of San Diego but it's a nice local grit and grind neighborhood. It's not overly flashy or trendy, jst a neighborhood spot serving food that clearly comes from culture, family, and tradition. The spot itself is well decorated with Lao and Thai artifacts to represent their culture. There are tvs if you want to catch a show or game and I dig the pop music in the background for a nice familiar tune. Great place for a friendly food adventure or dinner with family. FOOD / DRINKS Dragon Fruit Sugarcane (Recommend) Refreshing and fun. The sweetness of the earthy sugarcane paired really well with the subtle fruitiness of the dragon fruit. It was light, cooling, and the perfect drink to accompany the meal. Sausage Platter (Highly Recommend) This was delicious! The Lao sausage was incredibly flavorful with its herbal notes and spices, while the jerky had that perfect chewy, savory quality that made it hard to stop eating. Pairing everything with sticky rice and papaya salad gave it that unique Lao feel. Mok Fish (Recommend) This impressed me. Delicate fish wrapped and steamed with scentful Southeast Asian herbs and seasonings, creating a dish that felt both comforting and deeply flavorful. It had a home-cooked quality that made it memorable. Chicken Skin Laab (Recommend) Your solid chicken skin crisp but what separates it from your usual crispy chicken skin is the mixed laab herbs and lime. Every bite had a little crunch and a little kick. CUSTOMER SERVICE Awesome! Friendly and welcoming. The staff seemed genuinely excited to share their food and answer questions, which always makes the experience better. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good food, reasonable prices, and an opportunity to experience flavors that you don't often find everywhere. So Saap isn't just serving a meal--it's sharing a culture. This is no hidden gem, much love to Owner Carrie and the So Saap crew for sharing their Lao/Thai culture with us. #RepresentAZN TIPS * Bring a friend to share and check their social media for good deals!
