    Fried rice with chicken
    Keizzel C.

I think I found one of my new go to food carts whenever I am craving Pad See Ew! I'm glad a cancelled DD order from another Thai restaurant happened otherwise I probably would not have checked out Pinto for lunch. I got my usual beef pad see ew and chicken fried rice and it was enough to share between two people. If you know me, I enjoy my pad see ew noodles on the drier sauce and brown. Pintothai didn't disappoint and they were nice and chewy without being overcooked and had plenty of flavor (more on the sweet side). The noodles didn't have any excess sauce so it was perfect for me! The only thing was that the beef wasn't the most tender but still pretty good. As for the rice, it was also tasty! Rice was flavored well and was a little saucier which wasn't bad since it was absorbed really well. Both dishes held up well as leftovers the next day too. Would be keen to try other dishes as well but will likely always get the pad see ew as one of the mains.

I struggle finding good Thai food, having lived next door (Malaysia). Recommended the pad tom yum, and it's really good. A touch sweeter than what I'd find in country, but delish. To be fair, I've never had Thai food in the US that wasn't too sweet. Flavors on point, and definitely felt they nailed the flavors. Used the lime that came with to cut some of the sweetness out, and it's among the best in Portland

    Golden Crab

If I'm being honest, I would give this place 3.5 stars, but there is no option for half stars on the Yelp app. I started out with the golden crab, which was very disgusting, frankly. While beautiful and fried to be a perfect golden color, the filling was 90% cream cheese, 10% crab. Not worth the money, and I ended up throwing out the other three after eating the first. However, the dish that saved this review was the duck curry!! The duck was cooked beautifully and was very tender. The skin was absolutely perfect too. I loved the broth and the mixture of flavors. It was a little spicy, but not so much it disturbed the dish. The rice was cooked well. Not to mention, the kind lady who took my order was extremely friendly and the service was quick! I hope to come back and try this cart again. Maybe the mixture for the golden crab filling was off today, so I'm giving a generous 4 stars in hopes that it was a fluke.

    Duck curry special
    Matt E.

I came to this pod to eat at another cart, but when I walked past and saw that they had duck curry on special, my plans quickly changed. Who has two thumbs and likes duck? This guy. Well, the TLDR is that it just wasn't that great. The duck was fine, but so overpowered by the sauce and such that you didn't really pick up that flavor. I think it's because the curry was just SOOO sweet. There has to be a ton of sugar in it, and then they go and add pineapple. It was too sweet for me to finish and once I passed it off to my friend (a total curry fiend) he agreed. I wish I had gotten more than just this one dish, so that I could base my opinion on more. But this being their special, it left me with little desire to return. There's so much Thai in this city, I doubt I'll be back to give these folks another chance.

    Pad Eggplant, Salad Roll
    Lilah S.

Needed Thai to help me with my mild hangover... it wasnt super cheap but what is these days? I got the eggplant with veggies and the tofu salad rolls and both satisfied me! Veggies weren't over cooked, sauce couldve been spicier but it was still yummy! The salad rolls couldve used some basil or something but I am very pro shredduce so they also hit the spot. The woman who helped me was incredibly friendly and my food came out in like 10 minutes. Ill be back!

Everything Naughty (A scratch-made buttermilk biscuit covered with hickory-smoked bacon gravy or…read morerosemary-mushroom gravy, two potato cakes with sour cream and green onion, two scrambled eggs, and your choice of bacon, pork sausage patty, chicken-apple sausage link, or two vegan sausage patties) - I picked rosemary-mushroom gravy and chicken-apple sausage link... absolutely one of my favorites from this place... it's a perfect way to sample different things instead of ordering one thing! Biscuit itself was so soft and so tasty! Coated with amazing and drooling rosemary-mushroom gravy. The potato cakes itself were crispy and tasty with perfect amount of saltiness with a side of sour cream, even better with their homemade hot sauce! The chicken-apple sausage is my favorite... cooked to its charred and retained some juicy inside the sausage, very tasty with potato cakes and scrambled eggs cooked to its perfection. I can't even complain as I wiped the plate clean. Very filling for one big plate. The service was quick and very friendly... very accommodating to food dietary restrictions if needed and very attentive to the table. The vibes there were friendly and opening. Basically very chill like it is on the street. Great spot in this nice artsy neighborhood across from a cool shop, Frock.

*3.5, rounded up*…read more Came for breakfast on Mother's Day with a reservation. Checked in ~5min early, and ended up waiting for ~15min past reservation time because the hostess did not let us know we had to check-in *again* when the person parking the car had made it to the restaurant. We ended up with what was, in my opinion, the worst table in the restaurant, after watching several parties of the same size seated at 'better' tables, all of which had arrived after the driver, who was there less than 2 min later (so still prior to scheduled time) after I was at the hostess stand, and we were seated waiting in direct view of the hostess. PLEASE be clear in your communication about this policy: it was neither clearly posted anywhere nor voiced - it wasn't a huge inconvenience, but I would have much preferred being sat in the main area. The restaurant areas are each different: the bar area itself is the least interesting: several seating booths and the bar, closest to the bathrooms. The main dining area has more seating, a fireplace and the self serve coffee bar - I LOVE this feature, and even saw a Wonderwood Springs mug. Shoutout to my favorite neighborhood merriment maker, Mike Bennett (if you haven't been there, go. Do the mini golf... but this review isn't about WW, so... moving on) We ordered a couple of adult beverages: the Bloody Mary was *fantastic* and I'm grateful to the server for suggesting to mix the two infused vodkas I was torn between. Hot peppered pickle was *chef's kiss* and gave me all the things I crave in a bloody: slice, twang, umami. The mix was the perfect consistency (nothing worse than a great tasting Bloody Mary that's too thick/thin), and it didn't get too watered down as breakfast went on. Baby Daddy's iced "Shed's on Fire" was... alright. The highlight was the espresso bean that he didn't even get because I stole it (Mother's Day... amirite?). I'm not sure if it was the 151 or if it's because I don't drink much anymore, but all I could taste was the alcohol, so I didn't feel it was very balanced - I would have preferred a more coffee forward taste, especially since our server said the iced version was made you cold brew. I had anticipated it being stronger in coffee flavor. I'm a sucker for anything crab, so when we were told the special was a crab cake Benedict, I was sold (so was my kiddo) - didn't really look at the rest of the menu, and if I'm honest, I'm kind of sad I didn't. It's not that the CCB was bad, but it was just alright/nothing to write home about. I couldn't tell if the crab used was Dungeness, fresh, or something from a can, there wasn't much flavor to the cake itself (it was honestly overpowered by the egg & hollandaise combination) and made me want to go home and try to make my own (Dungeness) cakes. The highlight of my breakfast was the grits, when they first came from the back: note to future me/the person reading this reciew: eat them first/fresh & hot- by the time I came back to them, they had cooled & congealed *sad panda* My son is a culinary student (has studied at Johnson & Wales) said the same thing about the cakes - lack of flavor, needs something additional, couldn't tell what type of crab was used, etc and was also disappointed. The highlight for him was the potato cakes, and I'm pretty sure he is going to try to replicate those at home now!! All in all, we weren't exactly disappointed in our Tin Shed visit, but I'm not sure it tops the list of our favorite Portland breakfast/brunch spots. I'm sure we'll come back, but next time I'll try something on menu and get a biscuit - those b*+ches looked dang amazing on everyone's plates as they walked out of the kitchen!!

Highlights; carrot hollandaise served with broccoli, nettle risotto & the rhubarb cocktail. Only critique was the Lions mane mushroom entree was difficult to cut and eat. My dinner date was put off by the mass & texture of it. Perhaps cut in strips & prepared in the style of Trippa alla fiorentina could make this ingredient amazing. Overall great night.

We ordered five items to share. We had to take leftovers home, so I would say 4 dishes for three people would've been better. But it was just really hard to choose because everything looked amazing. My favorite items by far were the Chantelle chowder and the watermelon radishes. The tortellini soup reminded me of a Ramen broth, but with tortellini in it instead of Ramen noodles. The table next to me ordered the kimchi and chips, and I wish I had ordered it, but usually kimchi is too spicy for me so that's why I didn't. I think they even ferment the kimchi there. I'll definitely order that when I go back. My least favorite item was the barbecue tempeh, and that was mainly because of the soft consistency of the tempeh. But the celery root mash that came with it was delicious. The service was exceptional. The bathrooms were clean and nice. And I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.
