Not your typical onsite hotel restaurant, in a great way! I'll be honest, I did avoid it during my stay except for a late night drink and an actual sit down dinner (on our last night) but wish I had tried it sooner. It is an entertaining spot at night with TVs behind the bar with a local or big game on, a mix of hotel guests and some great late night bites and drink specials. Dress casual or dress up if you want - all styles excepted (but still no shirt no shoes no service). If you're going to dine here for dinner I would recommend coming early, like 6pm as the place gets busy quickly, especially with large groups. We did go on a Saturday night which probably contributed to the rush but 6pm also lets you take your time. The service was fast and professional. My husband booked a reservation through OpenTable and the chef sent out two appetizers as a thank you (not on the menu!) The first was a salmon bite wrapped in puff pastry? I don't like salmon but LOVED this. The second dish was risotto with a grill shrimp. Not really a fan of shrimp either but this was really, really delicious! Nice way to promote! I got the Tomato Soup and a Caesar Salad (added chicken). The soup comes with a crostini with a pesto spread (a little sparse) and some frisée on top. I opted to scrap the crostini and put the frisée in my soup (pictured). The soup was indulgent and comforting. It's a little chunky and rich but in a good way. The Caesar salad was HUGE! I ended up taking 1/2 back to the room fridge for the next day. I was planning on ordering dessert because the menu looked amazing but just couldn't fit anymore food in my stomach. Too bad :(. Since my sweetheart loves loves loves Italian food, I decided to indulge him during our anniversary week. I researched on the web and found this strangely named "hotel restaurant". Again risky but we just had been very lucky at Mikado, also such a place. And it did not disappoint. We were seated outside overlooking the lovely grounds. The gardeners' power tools were only slightly distracting. Out waiter José Luis was fantastic. He made sure we were protected from the sun by opening and later adjusting the umbrella. He was such a personable man who shared immigration inspection stories with us that reminded us of our own experiences. But now the food. We ordered a Caesar salad to share. What we got was two good sized plates, beautifully plated, each with a shiny anchovy filet. Since our tastes are often similar, we both ordered the fettuccine bolognese. What we got was two ginormous portion of noodles cooked al dente with one of the best bolognese ragù ever. It tasted totally authentic. Light on the tomatoes with visible slivers of carrot. The only other bolognese this good that I can remember was at Il Fornaio in San Francisco. We had so much left, we took it home for another lazy meal at our resort. I don't understand why this place can't rate at least 4 stars? This review is for breakfast only. The restaurant was very nice and up-to-date. There are indoor and outdoor seating options. The interior features the three storey pizza oven in the center. Our free deluxe continental breakfast was valued at $19 each. I don't know if I would have paid that much out of pocket for it, so value is the only thing that keeps this out of 5 star territory. I made a perfect open faced bagel lox cream cheese sandwich complete with capers and red onions! Excellent smoked salmon. We loved the house-made granola, which even had pistachios in it! Coffee was very good and there was lots of it in our own carafe...loved that! We really enjoyed our breakfast, and didn't see the need to spend the extra $10 ($29) for the hot items, such as eggs, potatoes, meats, etc., but no champagne. We waited quite a long time to be seated and ordered dinner for 7 of us. Pizza, pasta, and other meals. Our poor waiter worked hard but kept coming out to tell us " we have no margarita pizza..... we no longer have any pizza available..... I'm sorry the credit card machine doesn't work so we have to charge your room." How the hell does a restaurant run out of food at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night??!! We gave up and ordered a chicken Caesar salad to try to get some food and it was smaller than a Wendy's side salad with frozen chicken thawed up with no dressing! I'm sorry but if your going to charge me $75 for a salad, a beer, and crappy pizza alternative (bread and pepperoni) you better provide food that's edible. I come here for my favorite Portabella sandwich. I found this restaurant by near accident. UPS store is located on the property of this resort. I stopped in to the restaurant since it was convenient. And what a find! If you like Portabella mushrooms this will not disappoint. It is served on the brioche bun, that by nature never disappoints. The Portabella mushroom is seasoned and juicy and topped with a arugula, grilled tomatoes and Burrata cheese. Then aioli. WOW!! I just left and want to go back again! Love, love, love, this place. Luis and Elizabeth took care of us during our entire stay at the Westin Villas Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage. Pinzimini is a great Italian restaurant with a full service bar, with an amazing Sunday brunch, and an awesome lunch and dinner menu as well. From the moment we arrived for our annual girls weekend getaway, sitting at the bar and meeting Luis was a blessing in disguise. He is so attentive and so polite with a personality you can't help but love. He tolerated all our shenanigans while we got our drannnnk on thru happy hour. And man can Luis make them stiff! Skinny margaritas, strawberry margaritas, sangria, Moscow mules, vodka cran. Loved the fact that he was stocked with my goose AND stoli!!! We stayed at the bar for a few hours since we decided to order a few appetizers since we didn't stop at second round. We ordered their special Asian chicken salad - so good and delish. Love it when they add the wonton chips in there! Their shrimp avocado salad was fresh and flavorful! Tomato bruchetta was perfect for us who needed some carbs to absorb the alquihol! And of course their crispy calamari. Pinzimini has a great Sunday brunch spread with bottomless mimosas! This includes an omelette station, fresh fruit bar and breads as well as hot items like bacon, french toast, their yummy chicken sausages, etc... And for our Monday breakfast, we ordered their smoked salmon with tofu which was undeniably sooooo delicious!!! And the other girls ordered their spinach eggs benedict. Sooooo good! Their dinner menu was just as impressive as the others. Grilled white fish dressed with mangoes, tomatoes, and other refreshing fruits. Their risotto with mushrooms, red bell peppers, and some greens was divine! And their polenta was one of the best I've ever had! So glad we ordered it. Cesar salad with grilled shrimp was bomb! And their Pappardelle de bolognese is a must!!! Desserts that made it to our table was on the house. Their tirimasu was amazing along with their chocolate soufflé! Tack on the calories!!! For a foodie like myself and my girlfriends, the flavors of Pinzimini kept us within the resort. There was no need to go outside of our compound to search for good eats. Pinzimini had it all. Enjoyed the best tomato soup with kale I ever had. My meat sauce pasta dish was excellent. The panacotta dessert is a winner. The ambience is classy and is decorated nicely. This restaurant has the best parts of this resort. We came here for dinner and also for the buffet brunch the following day and both times we had a good experience. For the dinner or food was good and the price was fair. My ribeye was made exactly as I wanted and expected it to be. The rest of the party was also happy with their meal. Service was also exceptional, we were attended to nonstop from our drinks being refilled to our table being cleaned. The next morning brunch was also a good experience. Although the brunch was nothing exceptional and included the regular brunch type of food everything was perfectly made and great tasting. That your reservations I have about this place was one; that's there were so many flies flying around that at some point it was very annoying and difficult to enjoy the food. Although we were sitting inside the doors were constantly being opened and closed. The second reservation was the price, although the food was good I think that it's slightly overpriced for what it was probably because it's at a resort. When they saw I booked with open table they sat us down and brought us a chefs special appetizer, shrimp with risotto, very good We had chicken parmigiana, blackened salmon and prime rib, nothing was a disappointment, all dishes were on point. While my parents (Asian) were vacationing in Palm Springs and staying at the Westin Resort as guests, they went to this restaurant within the resort for dinner and faced outrageous discrimination. Upon entering the restaurant, the host sat my parents down in the back corner next to the kitchen that was dark and uncomfortable, claiming the front and middle of the restaurant that was well lit were all reserved for the night. The food took forever to come out, but the waiter was courteous enough to give complimentary wine, which was nice of him. While making conversation with the waiter, he confirmed there were no reservations tonight at the restaurant as it was relatively a quite night. Later on, as my parents finished dinner and was exiting, they saw all tables in the front of the restaurant completely empty. Looked back to where they were sitting, and actually saw another family sitting in the dark corner next to the kitchen. Guess what? This family was a colored family. While speaking with the restaurant manager regarding this incident on the way out, all he offered was "if you come back tomorrow, we will make you a reservation". This restaurant should be ashamed of itself to displaying such racism and discrimination. Marriott as a hotel chain should do a better job a filtering restaurants they partner with, as the restaurant made their loyal members (Ambassador/Titanium status) experience at their resort a negative one. They will not go back to this resort ever again, nor will they ever step into a Pinzimini. And we advise anyone who is against racial discrimination to do the same as. read more

We went for breakfast and I pity those who spent even more for dinner. The fare was typical of a free breakfast included in many chains, not what you expect in an expensive resort. Soggy eggs, burnt toast, missing or constantly empty container which supposedly contained potatoes, sausages or pancakes. The sausages had a mysterious taste I have yet to identify. My girlfriend barely had any food after a taste and agreeing, we both left. Shame on Westin, I am sure we all expect more and deserve better. read more

When you arrive at the Westin Resort you valet your vehicle at the roundabout and you proceed down an arched corridor which leads to a rock formation/outdoor pool area. The door to this restaurant is immediately to your right. Who knew? This is a stone's throw from our home. As we entered we did not expect the VAULTED ceilings and the beautiful archways. The décor is simple and sleek. They definitely did not try to overdo it. Just enough style without too much glitz. After all, I'm sure many golfers and families come in to dinner here. Our reservation was at 6PM for a party of five. We were a tad early. I am waiting to get the ball rolling when the hostess states " It's 5:41." As if to say you are too early and we are not ready for you. I would understand if we were a party of fifteen but we were NOT and the restaurant was ECHO empty. A seasoned hostess would have made us feel important and welcome. A glowing smile and a suggestion to enjoy a drink at the bar would have been expected. While they were "preparing" our table we bellied up to the bar. The bartender was three feet away from us and there was no acknowledgement. He was putting together some Sangria and five thirsty guests at 5:45PM meant nothing. Another small punch in the gut. My impression before we ordered our drinks was that the employees did not want customers today and that we were going to have a bad time. Once we received our Jalapeno Margaritas things started to change. The drinks had a little bite with a sour citric undertow. NICE. We even coaxed some dialogue out of the bartender and we finished our cocktails in a relatively good mood. We were seated in the main dining area which feels cavernous if you look up. IMO, our server Gabriel saved the day. He was attentive, pleasant, engaging and he went out of his way to make us feel special. I selected the $34 price fix which consisted of a Caesar Salad, a pizza and a dessert. My wife ordered the fix including the Caesar, the Pork Chop which was THICK and a dessert. Everything was GREAT. Halfway through the meal we had absorbed the bottle of wine I carried in. We had questions about some of the Italian possibilities and Gabriel was nice enough to bring us tasters allowing an informed decision on our part. His demeanor and service was exemplary. If it wasn't for the first twenty minutes of our visit this restaurant would have earned four to five stars. This is not diner food at diner prices. While I do not consider this place expensive I expect to be treated with class and interest when I bring you my business. I realize that this review is centered on service over product but both items should be equal or at least up to par. Nevertheless, I will return to see if they have their act together. Love this place! Every time we go to Palm Springs, we eat here. This review is long overdue. The restaurant is clean, COVID compliant. The service is excellent. Arial ( server), is warm, professional and anticipates your needs, before you ask. The food is delicious. I generally order the shrimp pasta, which has a flavor that you will crave the day after and the day after that. You will want to go back! Lovely ambiance, but unfortunately the food was quite a disappointment. Asked two guests as they were leaving how their dinner had been. They unenthusiastically said 'it was just okay'. We were shown to our table and our waiter greeted us promptly. Drinks were delivered and orders were taken - all in a timely manner. The food arrived and it was warm, but truly not very good. There were four of us. We all had something different. No one was pleased with their meal. On the way out, we commented to one of the guests that we should have had the spaghetti and meatballs (what he was having). His comment was 'You're lucky you didn't!' Lunch on 7/14/19. Ordered the margarita pizza and the salmon plate. The pizza was bland and I tasted mostly dough. The salmon was dry and tasted like unseasoned fish. Waited about 6-7 minutes before order was taken and twice as long for the food to come out. The place was empty too. read more

The pasta, freshly made, was just okay. The check was thin and dry. The grilled Vegies, as good as The presentation was, we're a bit better and the grill tomato was flavorless. The bread was a hunk of bread, not your typical delicious bread you get at an Italian restaurant that offers olive oil and balsamic.. Now if throw in the fact that the price, although fine for hotel restaurant, but if you actually do you compare it to a typical Italian restaurant, then it was even more disappointing for the price. First time here while on vacation in Palm Springs. This very casually nice restaurant is at the Westin hotel on Dina Shore. Beautiful decor and views. There is a bar with a flat screen TV. There is also music playing overhead that is just right. We were greeted with genuine happy faces. Our server "Elizabeth" was very nice and provided excellent customer service. We were also taken care of by "Maria" who was very nice and attentive. We ordered calamari that was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing with the aioli dip. My son ordered rib eye steak that was juicy and cooked perfectly, however, the side dish was a little mushy. It also came with asparagus that was cooked well. The garlic mashed potatoes are excellent. The salmon was also cooked perfectly but sadly the vegetables could've been better. All in all our whole visit was very good. Customer service was very good but I gave it only 4 stars because the whole experience has room for improvement. Would definitely come back though read more
