Great food, tough parking! The Rio de Janeiro pizza is a must-try (validated by a Brazilian local!) and the portions are surprisingly large. Make sure to save room for the Nutella pizza at the end. Just a heads up: street parking in this area is a bit of a struggle, so plan accordingly. Overall, a great experience!

On my journey to clear out my fridge post Thanksgiving, it's pretty much empty. I needed some freshness and veg in my life and in my body. After a super long day of family stuff, I ordered delivery using a restaurant credit. Restaurant delivery NEVER gets the "do not place my meal on the ground instructions" whereas grocery delivery ALWAYS gets it with grocery orders. That's for another review. Anywho....I got the Bruschetta and the Lollo salad. The bruschetta was made with heirloom tomatoes, the right amount of salt and so tasty. The tomato basil garlic mixture could have used a bit more basil and fresh garlic, but I do like to ward of vampires with my garlic breath...soooo....take that with a grain of salt. The bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and not too soft as to drench it with the goodness of the topping. The Lollo salad had about $10 in Italian cheese (not Parmesan) huge shaved pieces that was delectable. Arugula is my absolute favorite green on earth and I love them all. I'm not sure where the side of "the best dressing I've ever had in my life" came in, but it was amazing when I dipped my salad into it. Oh, and I may just drink remaining in the container after this post. When I looked at the address for this location, I remember we had a work event there a number of years ago when we went to a nearby escape room adventure. I remember the atmosphere of the restaurant and company as well as the food, were exceptional. I would like to dine-in again, but I'm never sure where to park in midtown. Anyway, I loved my meal this evening!

Piola is a casual Italian spot located in Midtown next to Jinya and Gen. We've been past it many times but just never tried it (Jinya is the usual target in this area). There are both interior and outside seating; they have a legit pizza oven inside. Service was quite poor, it was very slow to get follow up service and getting the check even when the restaurant was very empty. Food wise; the Caesar was a letdown; the dressing was not good despite the lettuce and cheese being what looked like decent quality; 1/5. The pizza's were fine but slightly burnt on the bottom. The hot honey pizza was a bit too sweet; pizza's at. 3.5/5. Their bolognese pasta was probably one of the better dishes there that we tried; 4/5. Overall, the food we've tried was fairly average, ambiance is alright, but I think with the stiff competition in the loop for similar style fast casual Italian restaurants, this one does not rise above the rest.

The food was flavorful and the employees were so nice! (We asked to split our pasta into two bowls so my picture is half of the regular portion.)

Ordered 3 pizzas amongst the 3 of us. Smells amazing. The atmosphere is fun and clean. The staff are quite attentive without being overbearing. The place has good music without being too loud. 9.7/10

I absolutely love Piola! I have tried many flavors, though I have to admit the Rio is my favorite, and I always add olives on top for that extra punch. At one point, I was so obsessed that I had it three Saturdays in a row... no regrets! The crust, toppings, and flavors are always spot-on, and it's quickly become one of my go-to spots for Brazilian pizza. I just wish they'd offer it with a catupiry border. The location I go to is the one in Memorial, and the customer service is excellent. If you haven't tried Piola yet, you're missing out!

Went on a weekday evening and wasn't too crowded. The drink with sugar, vodka and choice of fruit was so good. I did pineapple. Highly recommend. Just came in for apps and had the garlic knots. They were soft but not garlicy at all. The sauce was good. The meatballs were pretty good too. The bread that came with them wasn't my favorite but it was soft. I would come here again for some basic apps and I'll try the entrees. Food came out fast. Staff was nice. Place was clean.

I absolutely cannot believe that this was my first time trying Piola! My friends and I were trying to get ramen next door, but it was super packed. We opted to go to Piola right next door! First impressions: I like that there's a parking garage and I like that this restaurants has a little patio area if people would like to dine outside! Service: service was excellent! So friendly and helpful. I did not catch my servers name but she was a woman and worked night of 11/25. Food: We shared a meat lovers pizza. I will say the pizza was a little floppy. Didn't hold its shape, BUT I'm not sure if that's just the styling of pizza? Just something to consider! After getting over the floppiness of the pizza, the taste was actually pretty good! I also got the Penne Cividale. This is a must have! I've never had a pasta that tastes like this, it was so good that I would just come back for it. Come and try yourself, definitely recommend the Pasta!

Rio De Janeiro Pizza & Canareggio Pizza is amazing

We went here on a whim since we were craving Italian and it was close by. Plus the pics looked great on Yelp. Monday evening around 7pm and it was not busy. Nice ambiance that is laid back. We had friendly service although it took a while to receive our check. Price point is a little higher than I expected for the portion sizes. Enticing drink menu but the drinks are a bit pricey including the non alcoholic lemonade ($6). We would have ordered dessert if the offerings were not so limited. We wound up grabbing ice cream to go at the creamery around the corner. Free parking in the garage is a plus. Caprese salad was great but for the price (we upgraded to burrata) there could have been more cheese. The caprese salad, one cocktail, 2 glasses of lemonade, lasagna, and bolognese came to $90+ tip. Truly I feel the meal should have been around $72 for the portion sizes and quality. Skip the beverages and have water to save $24 ;)

I was so excited to try Piola's all you can eat gnocchi night, but honestly it was a disappointment. The gnocchi was doughy and heavy, and there wasn't anything to break up the denseness of it all. We did get the meatball appetizer that came with bread, so that helped a little. I did appreciate that there were many sauces to try with the gnocchi. The most unpleasant part of our meal here was the service. The waitress was very rude, and when I asked if she could bring out the big plates the gnocchi would be served on at the same time as our appetizer, she began complaining to the other servers in Spanish about our table and gave us a not very nice look. I would not recommend.

Pizza. Pizza. So my cousin surprised me with a delivery of a mushroom pizza. unsure but I think the place delivered and it wasn't via a food delivery service; that being said, the pizza was not hot (lukewarm) when it got here. She was a bit upset but it was edible. Reheated it in the air fryer to keep the crust crispy and the pizza was deliciously made. I really like the crust and how it was not overwhelming the actual pizza toppings. The base of the pizza was perfect, not too doughy. The mushrooms and cheese went well together. The ratio of sauce to cheese to mushroom was perfect. They do large cuts to the pizza. The fact that the reheat the next day was almost as good as when the pizza first got here says a lot about the quality. Def willing to give them another visit or order.

The best dining experience of my trip to Houston!…read more We visited on a Wednesday during happy hour and had an incredible meal from start to finish. The restaurant itself is absolutely charming, with a warm, stylish atmosphere and adorable decor that made the space feel both inviting and memorable. We ordered the carrot hummus, pepperoni pizza, bigoli with crispy guanciale, tomato, and pecorino, and finished with the vanilla ice cream sundae. Every dish was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend any of them. A special shoutout to Fran, our server, who was phenomenal. They guided us through the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and made sure our water glasses were never empty. Their attentive and friendly service elevated an already fantastic experience. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was wonderful, and the service was just as impressive. If you're visiting Houston, this restaurant is a must-try. It was easily my favorite meal of the entire trip, and I can't wait to come back.

It took me far too long to come here and I'm mourning every past meal I didn't have. Originally had a reservation for 6 and needed to adjust the day before and they kindly accommodated! We sat outside and had one of my favorite meals in Houston. We had a good mix of apps, pasta, and pizza with the salami piccante pie stealing the show. No joke might be my favorite Houston pizza bite. Also our server Jackalynn was awesome. Great conversation and kept up with our chaotic ordering and questions. Tiny Champions you've won my heart!!!
