I have nothing but praise for Steve at Pipedreams Plumbing. I called several plumbers to get a gas line moved. Steve was the most professional on the phone and in person. Additionally he was cheaper and hooray for that. While he was here doing a great job we happened to talk about my hot water heater, it was 22 years old. I asked for a quote to do it as well and his price was reasonable. He updated the straps and added a pressure relief tank too. There was no pressure or upselling at all, I just figured it was time, better to put in a new one than call a plumber at 4:00 AM on a Sunday (when it surely would have chosen to blow). We talked a bit and I learned he has years of experience which means a lot to me. If you'd like to do business with an experienced, pleasurable and down to earth guy who won't gouge you Steve is the guy. There are several factors here that contribute to the stars: My phone call was answered right away. I was given a quote over the phone (flat diagnostic charge and then told there would be a flat service fee). He maintained communication and was up front with the fee for the service. My issue was the water main valve had shot off - so we were without water for a full day before I could any plumber to respond. And of course this was the weekend. I called Mr. Rooter first - on a Sat. during open business hours and they never called me back. Then I called Economy plumbing and was told that it would be their double time fee for service on a Sunday. I quickly understood why plumbers live well. Pipedreams was less and friendly and prompt. These guys are terrific! They installed 2 low-flow high-end toilets in our Guerneville vacation home in less than 2 hours! They were on time, professional, and did a stellar job. My hubs and I just bought a house and the inspector identified a "minor, soon-to-be leak"...we moved-in and after being referred by a friend, we called Steve to come out and give us an estimate. He diagnosed a severely corroded pipe and was completely honest with us about the imminent disaster under our house. We received a great estimate for the pipe repair and for some other work we wished to have done. We got two additional and identical estimates and both were way more than the one from Pipedreams. We also received a discount (on top of the already low estimates) for having all three jobs done at once. Michael came to the house to do the repair and he was great. While working, he caught an issue under our kitchen sink and gave us a great deal on the fix. He even endured the awkwardness of me having a minor meltdown and encouraged us to inquire about what recourse we might have with the inspection company. Michael also found some corrosion at the main water valve to our house. When we've adjusted to home ownership and saved some money, we will definitely be calling on Pipedreams to do the repair! I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Murray at Pipedreams Plumbing. We had a huge leak in the line between the street and the house - about 10 gallons per minute, so we turned off the water at the meter. That meant we had no water in the house. On a Sunday morning we called Steve at Pipedreams. He had Murray come take a look between noon and 2 pm - he came at 1 pm. Murray rigged up a temporary fix so we had water for the rest of the day, then returned Monday (Labor Day) at 7 am to do the final repair. Very weird experience. Request was to have Pipedreams assess plumbing system in our home. Employee came late, told my wife "your husband has a litany of plumbing problems!" Ended up doing things I could have done and did not ask to be done, pulling off the insulation from the water heater and trying to sell my wife a new water heater (I had to put the insulation back as he did not have the courtesy to do that), fixed a slow sink using OUR plunger, as his was "not as good, since I bought it from a Dollar Store." The kicker was his not charging for toilet plunging he did, then winking, saying "Yelp does not want us to solicit reviews, but note that I did not charge you for (this and that), soooo....." We have a business, and we do NOT solicit reviews, which really upsets me about the low ethical standards of this company! read more

I called from our office regarding a leaking toilet. They were here promptly. The Plumber was friendly, helpful and courteous. They advised us that we were in need of a new toilet and provided us with a fair estimate. I would recommend Steve and his crew to family and friends. My first thought when my landlord told me "pipe dreams plumbing " was coming to fix my leak was that this has to be a handyman with a felony. And boy was I right! Josh (I only know his name is Josh from my landlord ) showed up early. Good sign right? Yet the first words out of his mouth was * my 17 year old daughter told me she was pregnant " Josh was dressed like a gang member. Complete with neck tattoos. He never did give me his name even after asking several times. I asked him several questions about problems I was having around the house. He had no answers and instead only offered excuses. Josh was very unprofessional and discourteous. I would more expect him to have a felony than business insurance. I do not recommend this plumber. read more

Steve initially came out for the inspection, and made sure he knew exactly what the problem was (unlike the first company). He ended up saving me over $6,000! And like the other reviews, my calls were answered right away, everyone was very professional, and I have nothing but good things to say about my first experience with this company. And once the problem was properly diagnosed, it was fixed within 24 hours (less than 24 hours, actually). I had the privilege of meeting the owner of this fine establishment. He installed my sink, faucet, dishwasher and a garbage disposal in my condo. After having terrible luck with many different people helping me set up/install/deliver things, they were a breath of fresh air. He showed up on time and did a great job on the install. He even replaced some of the older fittings with better fittings. They also offer a warranty on their work, so if anything should happen all you have to do is call. One of the rubber washers on my dishwasher sprung a leak and after a phone call, he sent one of his guys out and fixed it free of charge. I would recommend them to anyone! My father just had them install a new water-heater in his place and had similar things to say. Great company! Totally worth it. read more

They were late. They did a good job. Here is the rub. They charged me 240 bucks for 30 minutes of work. The valve they changed could not have cost more than 15 bucks. They are just too pricy. And they charge 70 bucks to show up. That is deducted from the bill, they do this to trap you. Because 70 bucks is a lot of money to say go to he'll, when they quote their super high prices. read more

These guys are great! First we hired them to fix our shower diverter that leaked and barely worked. They were so fast, and friendly, and affordable that we again hired them to replace our ancient water heater with a tankless. They were on schedule, on budget, and left no mess. I had my kitchen sink and washer backing up, and I called Pipedreams because here on Yelp they had a photo of their dog! Within an hour they were here. As the garage door lifted a bolt fell off of it and Stephen saw the bolt fall and started it for me (it just needs tightening now). Then he opened the clean out and noticed that my dryer vent needed capping off and didn't push when I said I would do it. He suggested that I add 6 inches to the washer drain pipe and again accepted that I said I would do it. Stephen was friendly, efficient, and personable, and he was friendly with my dog. To cap this all off, the price was less than my plumber neighbor, who gave me a "neighbor discount". I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I explained all we had done, Steve said he would be willing to come out and take a look. He gave us a few suggestions over the phone and said if the suggestions don't work to call him back. These guys were terrible! They didn't know how to install our shower and sink fixtures asking us why we purchased German-made fixtures they didn't know how to install. They scratched the marble in our bathroom along with the fixtures. Our original estimate was increased due to the fact that they didn't know how to install "high-end" fixtures. One of the guys showed up late and had the audacity to ask if he could bring his dog in the house... We allowed him to leave his dog in the yard. He took frequent breaks to check on his dog and play with his dog. These guys were incompetent, rude, and disrespectful. Do not hire them! read more

Ok so they showed up on time and fixed my problem. It was a relatively simple job. However I chose them because they said they had competitive rates 20- 50% below average on craigslist and I dont have a lot of extra money to play with. The guys was here for 45 minutes replaced a 22 dollar part and charged me 250 bucks. I dont recall ever paying that much for a 45 minute job so I was dissapointed with the price. My husband and I were in the upgrade program with the water dept for a free high efficiency toilet (for those who had old water wasting ones!). No one in our area was on the list to install so we called several in SR area. Steve got right back to us ON A WEEKEND (!) and gave us all the info we needed. we set up a time and ordered new flooring for the bathroom. we were pretty sure we had a leak and needed to replace the underlayment at least. My husband felt he needed more time to install the floor (the way of DIY repairs he DEF did need more time!) so Steve moved the date up a week. He made a trip out her to the ends of the earth even tho it was the only job out here because he had been without a flushing toilet at all for almost a week. It was very generous of him. Super professional and very very nice and would highly recommend his work. He kindly inspected something else we had concerns about that someone else had done with no charge as well.
