We ordered a dozen oysters and one of our nephews, my husband and I ate them. The three of us contracted vibriosis. The oysters were infected with vibrio bacteria.. Our symptoms appeared on Sunday morning around 3 am and our nephew ended up going to urgent care for IV FLUIDS. my husband and I are severely dehydrated and currently on antibiotics. My sister in law called the restaurant and they didn't call her back. My mom keeps calling with no response. We've been here twice and spend alot of money here. I really hope I could like them but unfortunately I can. Ordered a lb of crab with corn and the full house sauce. One lb was about 2 clusters. The crab meat was not fresh and mushy, the sauce was extremely salty. I eat outside food very often and have high toleranceof salt and msg, but it was by far the most salty I have eaten in a long time. They have to take credit card info over the phone, which I wasn't too comfortable but still did it. I understand sometimes customers might order and never pick up. Then you have your add ons which is where they get you. $9 for Cajun fries is high but they make up for it by having $3 canned Modelos. Lately though the shrimp is old, 3 times this has happened. You can tell it's old by the way the shrimp comes apart when you're peeling it. It's hard to chew. Hope they work on this and bring in fresh shrimp so people don't get sick. As far as service, well service is horrible. They have 1 waitress and she clearly can't handle all the tables on her own. She tries though. The music is depressing. The restaurant started to get pretty full by the time we sat down, but she was very good at checking back on us despite how many tables she was helping out too. Food: We ordered calamari, garlic noodles with no cheese (allergy), and a mild bag with full house sauce (1lb of shrimp & 1lb of mussels). Garlic Noodles - (10/10) Really good, will come back again for the garlic noodles. Calamari - (8.5/10) Very crunchy and really good Seafood Bag (8.5/10) Mild Heat has a bit of a kick but was bearable and sauce was really good. If you order a bag, keep in mind that they don't do 1/2 lbs. If management or the owner of this place see this review, please look into the incident on 4/6 at around 12:30-1:34pm and speak to your two employees about their customer service skills and how to treat guests with kindness and respect. We customers are the one spending money for quality foods and quality service not the servers so they shouldn't act like they don't need our business and that we are there begging them for foods and respect. I would like to file a complaint about the female server working this morning shift and the male server that claims he is the manager but was only the "head server". The "manager" was not even dressed up in uniform and is wearing rings all over his fingers like he is going to a party and is not there to work and the only asian girl that was working with him the morning shift on 4/6 Sunday morning. First of all, he shouldn't be serving foods at all because that is a safety hazard like he is not complying to the dress code whatsoever. Does this place run without proper safety violation standard or should I contact OSHA directly. Second of all, he gave us attitude since we started ordering. He came out all aggressive and annoyed for no reason. I ask specifically for extra garlic butter in the bag like I always have asked on my order and he said okay and walked away with minimal to no care of the world. When the bag came, there was minimal garlic butter and is spicy even tho I specifically asked for mild. I brought it up to his attention just for him to say that I can't request extra garlic butter in the bag and that I have to order a separate garlic butter sauce on the side. He then proceed to say he knows about me and that I have been here before and that he knows I always order the extra garlic butter in the bag. So if he know about me why didn't he brought it to my attention about the garlic butter before he bring me my food to avoid all unnecessary conflict. I mentioned that I come here a lot and that other servers would always add extra garlic butter in the bag for me and that's when he brought up that the female server working today with him told him I was "extremely rude" to her. So thats his reason for him being extremely inconsiderate and extremely unprofessional to us and his "reasoning" is because that female server today talk about me to him saying I was rude to her before. So he doesn't hear both side of the stories and would assume I'm a bad person based off of his coworkers point of view but did she told him she would intentionally avoided my table the last time I came so we had to confront her about it and left no tip. She also felt the needs to gossip and spread rumors to make herself feel better and to make other servers treat me differently. He made me look extremely bad infront of my boyfriend and everyone at the restaurant. So pirate kitchen is a place where employees are allow to gossips about guests and are able to get revenge for their coworkers like a bunch of high school students. So he thinks I am at fault because he is biased based of his coworkers' opinion and instead of handling the situation like a manager he treated me and my boyfriend like we were bunch of criminals lol. See with your own eyes before you judge. Also this is a running restaurant/ business, you can refuse service but you have no right to treat me how you treated me. I come there almost every week and spent tons of money eating out for the "manager" to imply that we are broke by saying we look like we don't got jobs. This place has left a bad taste in my mouth. I came on a week night and was surprised at how empty it was. There was a deal for 2 lbs of shrimp for 20$ which these days is a steal! I did wish the sauce had more garlic since I'm used to boiling crab style sauce with small chunks of garlic but otherwise had no complaints about the seafood. We also ordered clam chowder fries which were interesting but next time I would pass. It made the fries too soggy since they weren't crisped up to begin with. The calamari was super crunchy and delicious but at the price point, I probably won't get it again. There was a Yelp check in offer for a free beer can and free stuff is always nice at a restaurant. The server was top notch and very attentive without being annoying. I appreciated the fun pirate ship decor which added to the ambiance and the gloves and bib provided. I knew I had to check this place out when I saw their TikTok video that showed AN AMAZING DEAL for seafood boil. You can't beat $20 for 2lbs of shrimp!! I was excited to see that their deal is valid any time of the day. If you show them the TikTok video, they allow you to order it any time and you can even get the deal for takeout! The restaurant is located in a huge plaza, there's plenty of parking spots but we had to park pretty far since there wasn't any spots nearby. Walking into the restaurant, it was big and well decorated with a pirate theme. We were greeted and seated immediately. The two workers were very kind and attentive the whole time! We had to scan a QR code to view the menu, it's very cute with pictures! Their prices are decent for seafood boil so I was excited! They offer plenty of appetizers and foods. We ordered the 2lbs of shrimp deal, 1lb of crawfish, and added 2 corns and 1 order of 3 potatoes with their All In mild sauce. The food came out pretty quickly and gave us plenty of juicy limes. First impression was that the bag lacked in sauce.. it was not drowning in sauce like typical seafood boil bags. I was pretty disappointed because I love dipping my peeled seafood into the sauce for extra flavor. But I was still hopeful since there was an abudant amount of seafood in the bag. The shrimps and crawfish were big!!! We were so satisfied with the sizes of them and they seemed fresh since they were easy to peel. We counted how many we got for fun and it was: 32 shrimps and 9 crawfishes, not bad! Now for the sauce... It was the worst I've ever had. There wasn't enough butter or garlic.. or even flavor at all which I'm usually used to. It was the worst sauce I've had which I'm super bummed about because that's my only complaint... But a very major one which is why I took away a star. If they fix their sauce then I'd be more than happy to make the 1 hour drive again. The corn was expensive ($2 for one) and it was the worst seafood boil corn I've had. Other than that, the portions, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness was great! This place was so good! We had the PK Platter that fed 3 of us in the group easily and all for $50 which came with 3lbs of seafood (shrimp, clams and mussels were our picks).
