I've been avoiding coming to this place since last year when I've read a lot of bad Yelp reviews about it - but thought we should give it chance on a less-busy middle-of-the-weekday and arrived about 5pm. It wasn't busy at all - which I was thankful, because in general, if a restaurant is busy, that usually means we don't get good service - SO I was very happy the server came and seated us right away. Our order was taken promptly and was stoked that they had an open bar for sides (buffet-style) to serve myself immediately for the salads, kimchi, sesame oil, seasoning, rice-paper (wolnamssam-yong), radish wrap (Ssam-mu), etc. - because in my experience with other KBBQ restaurants, the servers NEVER come fast enough to refill those sides for you, so I'm super relieved about this place for allowing us full control of that - without my feeling like I have to keep waving down a server. I was also excited to see additional sides offered as part of this very reasonably-priced All-You-Can-Eat! I had Miso-soup, even got Korean Seaweed Roll, Fried-Rice, fruits - Pineapple chunks, Orange slices, Jello (my fave)! They also had Mac-salad, Potato salad, also offered cooked fried chicken, baby clams, crawfish, fried wontons, edamame, eomuk (Korean fish cakes), Japchae (Korean Glass Noodle), etc. Plenty of sides also offered self-serve that you can cook on the grill, like onions, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. I was impressed with their choices at this price point! SO, my recommendation is - give this place a chance - sometimes restaurants do have bad days (as do servers and employees) which can get them a bad Yelp review). Today I appreciated that the servers were helpful and attentive. I LOVED the food: We ordered the Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Bulgogi, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Belly - and yes, ALL included at the same price point (we went for the cheapest menu option) at $24.99 per person - so much value for that low price! Parking was decent on a Wednesday night around 7pm without any lines and we were seated quickly. That's when things weren't as copacetic. Initially we were sat on one burner for 6 people and was exceptionally tight. We asked to split our party to get another burner and was grated with attitude from the make server with a tattoo on his right arm. We asked multiple times to restart our burner because the pilot light kept turning off. According to the waiter, we didn't have enough venting on our grill because of the meat. Second and third time the pilot turned itself off we have to track down a different waiter to restart the light. Service is poor, especially from make server with Polynesian tribal tattoo on right arm. If you don't want to be at work, don't come to work. Next, the buffet line. Great concept: get your own sides. Nothing is labeled, albeit kimchi, fried rice were obvious, but others less so. When we finished the bill came with 18% gratuity included. With this 18% gratuity, I had to track down the waiters/ waitress 3 times to restart our burner, get the you're not worth my time attitude for it. I wanted to like Mr. Lees but with the decent food and subpar service is hard for me to do. I think the saving grace here was my God son pick this place for his graduation dinner. I dined at Mr. Lee's in Cerritos a long time ago before the new place took over. I am not sure if this is the same place as the one before? If it is, they definitely upped their game with the venue, space utilization and buffet bar offerings. I brought my family here to try this new location out. We were greeted, checked in and seated within 10 mins of arriving. Not bad for a friday night. The place gets packed quickly and definitely feels a bit crampy. The most disappointing aspect of my meal service was the service. It was inconsistent. The server who got our drinks rarely came by, we had to wave our hands in the air frequently to get the attention of other servers to assist with ongoing orders. This is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to these AYCE places. You are truly at the mercy of these servers. There was one server in particular who had a crappy face- like everyone owed him a million bucks. Appears korean, thick plastic framed glasses, with a flat affect (don't give a f*ck attitude). When I had my hand up, he stopped by to ask if I was done eating. I said no, we are waiting to order more meats. He said, please wave down someone else. WTF?! super crappy response for a server. We were simply asking one of the workers a question about whether they still offer free ice cream for birthdays, since we were there celebrating a birthday and they used to offer it. Instead of politely saying, "Sorry, we don't do that anymore," the worker responded very rudely and, even said "I don't do that shit." His tall coworker said his name was "Tam" but he didn't look like he wanted to give his coworker his real name as he only spelled it so I'm not too sure if that was the rude worker's actually real name. Regardless, the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. We were just asking a simple question and didn't deserve that kind of attitude. This happened on Tuesday, August 11, at around 8:00 PM. (I'm pretty sure the lady who was in charge of the the counter should know who the worker we were talking about.) if I could give zero tip we would have given them nothing as it was a really bad service. Absolutely awful experience!!! We've been here plenty of times with our small dog, who sits quietly in her stroller and has never caused a single problem. Suddenly, this time, some staff member decides to make up rules on the spot, claiming dogs aren't allowed without paperwork--something no one has ever mentioned before--and then has the nerve to kick us out after we were already seated. We were a large group, the place wasn't even busy, and yet they still chose to handle it in the most incompetent and inconsiderate way possible. If there's a policy, maybe learn how to communicate it properly instead of blindsiding customers. The inconsistency and complete lack of professionalism made it clear they don't value their customers at all. Came here on a Sunday night and had a pretty disappointing experience. Service was slow and disorganized from the get go. We were seated with no menus. When the server finally came to greet us, we were brought a water pitcher but no cups, he tried to take our order and we told him we needed menus. At some point he brought us a menu. When he finally brought the cups he also took our order, and when the meats came out, 2 of the 3 meats weren't even what we ordered. We didn't say anything as we were fine with eating the wrong meats that were brought and who knows how long before he comes back and this gets corrected? The meat quality was surprisingly fresh and tasted good. Throughout our dinner, we had to flag our server down multiple times for basics like water refills, grill changes, and scissors (which we needed because, ironically, we couldn't cut the thick pork belly that we didn't order). I gave this place a shot, because there is another cheaper kbbq spot by where I live and it's delicious so I did not want to judge this place based on its reviews. The most ironic thing is my experience was worse than the rating on Yelp and Google. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know, and would not even feed the food to my dogs cause I would be concerned if they were to get sick. I don't live too far from Mr.Lees and when it was in Cerritos me and my family loved to eat there and it was a weekly thing however since they move locations the service quality has gone down significantly every time we go in it's the same thing we wait a few minutes we get sat we already know what we like we give them our orders and we wait but after that we have to flag down servers constantly if we want refills or more meat If one of the sides is missing from the buffet line you have to ask them to make more which isn't an issue until they look at you in a way that says "Not my problem" and then never tell anybody about it They've tried to overcharge us twice now which we luckily noticed and had waved off our bill Me and my mom also went in one day 20 minutes after they said they were supposed to be open and when we got there we were surprised to see a line however we asked the other customers waiting and realized that the reason there was a line was because they had stopped the customers in front of us from coming in by closing and relocking the doors on them and saying g they needed another 20-30 minutes to get everything ready All in all this place has gone from being one of my favorites to a spot we now avoid like the plague and instead we go to the Red Palace which is located not too far from Mr. Lees original location I do not work for or at Red palace but I am simply informing others that there is a better option that feels like the original location read more

Mr. Lee's was a great gem to find after my go-spot was overly crowded over the weekend! The wait wasn't long and the service was good! We had never been to this location as our waitress was patient in explaining how their AYCE works. I appreciated that the menu was simple and straight to the point. The buffet was also filled with an array of options to accompany the proteins which was great. I thought it was great how large this place was & observed that hosting large parties wouldn't be difficult here because they have ample space. Many years ago, the Mr. Lee's on South St. in Artesia/Cerritos was my OG KBBQ spot that started my KBBQ obsession. It's nice to see it evolve a bit more to cater to the big deal that KBBQ is now. First off, this place is HUGE. There is SO much seating and huge tables. When you go into a room, you take a peak around the corner and there is another huge room with more tables! I came in on off hours on a Sunday, so I'm curious to see what it's like when it's REALLY busy. Service - I came during off-hours so the service was attentive and fast. Again, I would have to come back during busy times to see if it's just as good. Food - good quality meats, the salad buffet style banchan is always the best because we then don't have to share a measly bite of a side dish between multiple people. I can stack a plate of my kimchi and potato salad and that's that. That's for meeeeee. They also advertise that you do have to pay extra if you want Kalbi short ribs. I remember coming here many years ago when it had different owners. I had no idea it had reopened and on MLK day, many KBBQs in the area were not offering lunch specials which was absolutely frustrating. We came here because their prices seemed very fair and I was really craving KBBQ. Well the entire experience was meh. Yes, we were seated immediately; upon asking for meat, we were told that we can only order up to 3 plates at a time. The server only brought us two for the first round and after this, we did not see him again for like twenty minutes. He eventually shows up after attending pretty much every other table except ours and changes our grill, brings us more meat (only two plates again). From then on, we were attended by two other servers who were more inclined to come check up on us, which was good but this inconsistency in service surely does not go unnoticed. Though the meat itself was not bad, the items at the buffet were not very good. Everything I piled onto a plate, besides the radish paper, was really cold and you just knew after tasting it that it had been sitting out for an hour or two. Even though the place is huge, I guess they do not get enough people to be constantly moving out old sides and putting in new ones. One thing I should note is that the bathroom was very much not clean. By the urinals, there was a big puddle on the floor and they looked like they had not been clean since last week.
