our shots with lime and salt haha

I came here for 2 reasons: 2lbs for $20 and $1 soju shots. Pirate's Kitchen did not disappoint!  2lbs of head-on shrimp for $20 is a great deal for seafood boils in this area. It;s also just a pretty good quality seafood boil as well. The shrimp was well cooked, and everything was flavorful but not salty. I do think that the deal is now $25 for 2lbs, but that is still cheaper than most places around. I added sausage, corn, and potatoes, and my party of two was full. I also super enjoy the $1 shots of soju. It's 6 shots max per person, but that puts you at a nice buzz for your meal. You can also opt for their Buy 2 Bottles Get The 3rd Bottle Free deal, which would be nice if you have a bigger party.  The service here was super nice, and there wasn't a long wait at all. I would highly recommend this spot if you want to have a good time and eat good food. It will be messy, but it'll be worth it!

The food was great, also the service was excellent. They welcome you right away. Any questions we had they were very helpful. The place was very clean and nice. Flavor and drinks everything was on point. I would definitely come back again.

My family and I come here all the time, but today for the first time we came in and its six of us 2 adults( my sister and myself ) and 4 kids( my twin 2 year olds and my sister's 8 and 11 year old and the waiter told us ill be add Guarantuity on your bill unless you want to seat separately across the room from each other???? Like what??? Since when is it mandatory??? I get it if its 6 adults my toddlers dont eat here I bring them their food and drinks because they dont eat sea food. Forcing 18% tip for two adults that are eating here is crazy!!! Like I said we come here all the time with our kids and this is the first time we are being told this! And I want others to know about this and your thoughts. No one should be forced to pay for tip a tip is a token of appreciation for their service. She hadn't even serve us yet and she straight up decided to tell us she was going to add the gratuity???? Let the people decide how much we want to tip it's not our fault that they only put one Waiter on the floor when they have a special! Makes us not want to come back! Its not the tipping im upset about. Im upset being forced to tip someone who hasn't served anyone yet.

In the Long Beach/Cerritos area, we are lucky to have several options for quality seafood boils. I chose to come to Pirates Kitchen this time because I was able to order snow crab, shrimp, and popcorn shrimp. I came in on a Friday and service was great. I did order a little too much food; however, I really enjoyed everything. If you're looking to order a seafood boil combo, it is a little on the pricey side here; however, I was pleased with the portion sizes. Unlike some of the other seafood spots, I would have loved if they had stations to wash hands as seafood boils get very messy! I have them throw my seafood boil into a mix of all three of their sauces and I order level 3 "Hot" level spicy. The shrimp is good, but it did get overcooked in the very temperature hot sauces in the bag. Their snow crab legs were so huge that I thought that they accidentally gave me king crab. The popcorn shrimp was delicious, it's a generous portion, and they serve it with cajun fries. The only thing that could have made that better for me would have been a nice cocktail sauce with strong horseradish. I definitely would come again. If you are free, they have a great lunch special during the week before 3pm where you can get 2lbs shrimp for $20. The thing is that I can't pass up their crab, which was incredibly meaty and delicious.

came here for the 2 lbs for $25 seafood boil! really good deal for sharing with someone else. we ordered the: * shrimp seafood boil - ordered with full house sauce, mild spice, and added white rice. i typically get spiced out easily and, mild wasn't too spicy. will try medium spice next time. * cajun fries - pretty tasty and had a nice crunch. came with chipotle mayo and ketchup. * soju - our server let us know about the buy 2 soju and get 1 free deal, so we got peach, green grape, and plum. it was good enough for 4 people. we came on a tuesday night and there was no wait. they gave us gloves and bibs. plenty of seating available. clean bathroom.

Ordered this today and it was an absolute hit. We got the lemon pepper/ garlic butter shrimp & the full house head on shrimp. It was amazing and every last shrimpy was consumed! Thank you!

Really like this place I come a lot and bring my fam and friends for the 2 pounds for $20 deal. The fries are really yummy and the food is great, but went yesterday and omg the bathroom is disgusting!!! It made me scared to eat there because if you can't keep your bathroom clean makes me think how's the kitchen? Please clean the bathroom I couldn't even sit down to pee cause I was so disgusted. Other than that thanks for the awesome deals! And this place isn't bad for the prices.

Sooo good This our go to shrimp spot can't beat the price, taste or the service!!

Loved my experience here at Pirates Kitchen! I dined here with my family over the weekend and was so impressed with the yummy food and the amazing service. We ordered the butterfly shrimp and Cajun fries with a chipotle aioli to start us off, and this was incredible! Everything was so well seasoned and the chipotle aioli was so flavorful and perfectly balanced with the food. We then ordered 2 lbs of shrimp and one lb of mussels with the full house sauce, spice level 2. I would say I have a pretty high spice tolerance and I didn't find spice level 2 (medium) to be spicy at all but that's just me. Next time I'd be curious to try spice level 3 or 4. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to try it again soon!

The sauce in the bag felt a bit... watered down like it went for a swim before meeting the seafood. For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. I came here salivating with such a craving after browsing Yelp for a great place to eat, which I…read moreusually do when I'm searching for something new to try. I came here for seafood, specifically their Oyster Rockefeller, because I haven't had it in decades. It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, along with foie gras, bone marrow, head cheese, suckling pig, and more. I was happily surprised to discover it's located across the street from my favorite studio, Mr. Inkwell's Classic Tattoo & Piercing. I guess I didn't pay close attention when I mapped out directions--a real downside of relying on GPS these days. I remember when I used to memorize streets, locations, and directions every time I visited a new place or traveled. Anyway, I digress. The place is fancy and spacious, with a market out front, divided into three or four sections: the bar stools right in front of the bar, the bar seating area, the main dining space, and an enclosed patio. The employees all looked experienced and mature, like they had been there for more than a decade. The three hostesses at the front were younger. After looking at the menu, I decided to start with their peach puff pastry topped with vanilla bean ice cream. When a dessert catches my eye, I often prefer to indulge in it first because I might be full afterward. It didn't disappoint. I took my time, savoring every bite. The freshly cut peaches had a nice bite, while the puff pastry was crunchy and flaky, with its very tasty cream. The vanilla bean ice cream was simply delightful. After finishing, I didn't want to spoil the high from such an amazing dessert, so I decided to take the oysters home. It's half a dozen. Presentation-wise, they're a bit underwhelming compared to previous ones I've had. And just so you know, I used to work part-time as a server at an upscale American restaurant at the top of a fancy old hotel in Long Beach, at a well-known authentic Italian pizza place in San Diego, at a small Korean bar in Torrance, at a family-owned Filipino restaurant, and at a Japanese fast-food chain, among others. Even with a full-time 8-5 corporate job, I still worked part-time as a server, dining host, and karaoke hostess. My three favorite pastimes are enjoying delicious food, meeting new people, and discovering new adventures. To continue, my biggest disappointment was that two of the six Oyster Rockefellers didn't contain any oysters at all! It's baffling how that could happen. Usually, Oyster Rockefeller looks bulky with build-up depth from the spinach, cheese, butter, and seasonings on top of the oysters themselves. But these looked dull and bland with a plain flat top. They also weren't that hot. It wasn't really appetizing. Two of them only had the adductor muscle (that round, fleshy part attached to the shell), which I actually love, by the way. So you see, I couldn't be mistaken, as I slurped the oysters only to taste the spinach, cheese, butter, and the little bitty meat muscle I had to scrape a little off the shell with a fork. There were definitely no chewy, soft, and tasty oysters. I hope it was just a simple mishap, especially for an upscale restaurant known for its seafood dishes. Hopefully, a member of management sees and reads this review and takes corrective action to ensure this never happens again. Please note that the usual price for great-tasting Oysters Rockefeller at a well-established restaurant is $30. This place charges $25, which makes me think twice. But then again, some of its dishes are priced a few dollars lower than most, except for the dessert, which costs a few dollars more at $15. However, I still enjoyed it so much that it doesn't matter to me. In life, there are always pros and cons when it comes to overall preferences. It is always up to you to try things yourself and not rely on someone else's opinion, which might prevent you from discovering new things. That said, I am willing to come back to try other dishes that look equally scrumptious and reasonably priced: Toodle-loo, my darling readers. Until next time.

The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. I will definitely be ordering out or coming in for Chinese because that reminded of many other places that put out fantastic dishes.

Made my way back to eat my way through the lunch specials…read more I ordered more mainstream dishes this time around and they did not disappoint: -sweet & sour pork ($13.95) -kung pao chicken ($13.95) Each entree comes with white rice, though you can upgrade to fried rice for an additional $2. To be honest, the fried rice was a nice way to break the monotony of just plain ole white rice. I'd you like a good value, the entrees are also proportionally very generous. I thought both were quite good. You get plenty of protein and each dish tasted exactly how you'd expect them to taste. Highly recommend L V if you're in the mood for good ole Chinese food.
