Have been there twice. Neither time that I have been there Has the food been that great. It's over priced, the portions are small. I booked it for my wife's 40th birthday and we had a bad experience and I reached out to the owner/manager and set up something for us to go back in, we went back in, the food again wasn't great, the service was much better, but she didn't even offer us like a free appetizer or a free drink or anything like that. You spend Close to $1000 somewhere and have a bad experience and they don't even offer to make it right? Thats terrible customer service. We have been there twice, won't go back. I have talked to so many people who have had the same experience with the food not being great, customer service not being that great, and the portions mean small for what you pay. read more

We just had an excellent meal at Piripi. The menu is nicely varied, and each dish was well prepared and enjoyed. My only complaint is that we felt the wait staff was rushing us (for a 6 pm seating). Plates were cleared before everyone was finished, and the check was presented before we were done with dessert and before it was requested. My mom needed to get out of the house so she invited me to dinner at this new restaurant she found in Erie on Google...and it was fun. For an appetizer, we had the seared scallops tapas plate and the 4 large scallops were perfectly cooked -- colorful & crunchy on the outside with moist & tender insides. Super yummy! My Columbia Crest cabernet arrived a bit chilled so it didn't have as much flavor as her house pinot noir. I had the Mediterranean Salad which was very tasty with generous pieces of beets & many green olives. For dinner, I tried the Vegan Moussaka (because it's not something I've made at home recently) but found the colorful & individually tasty ingredients (slices of eggplant & zucchini as well as diced red peppers & other veggies) to be drowned out by way too much of the flavorless vegan bechamel sauce served as a casserole. Did you forget herbs & white wine in the sauce? Mom ordered the Coconut Curry Shrimp which was excellent with crunchy (but not chewy) tender nice medium-sized shrimp, a deliciously slightly spicy sauce, over nutty wild rice. In a few of the Google reviews, folks mentioned issues with reservations & it seemed we had one too. Mom had called the restaurant at 3p & booked a 7p reservation. However, when we showed up at 6:55p, her name was not on list. The hostess apologized & was able to seat us within ~15min...so not much of an issue. All in all, a tasty meal, in an attractive & roomy setting with good service. read more

Disappointing. Called to make reservations for my wife's 40th birthday, hostess set the phone down but didn't put me on hold, and I could hear her conversation with what I imagine was a manager saying no that we couldn't get reservations for a party of 15, and then she came back to me and asked what time I wanted to come in, I told her, then she left and came asked if I could come in at a different time. So I didn't even get the reservation at the time I wanted, it was dictated to me. We showed up, and they had us set up to sit on the patio when it was cold, they finally agreed to make a space for us inside. We sat at the bar while the table was being prepared, food came out and was excellent, that's the one thing I will say. Service was Meh. And when we went to split the bill up at the end of dinner, multiple people in my party overheard our server talking to a manager who told him to "just charge them more" to split up the check. I don't even think that's legal. So needless to say from start to finish the only thing that was good was the food, I emailed the restaurant and let them know About my experience on October 13 they responded saying they would make it right and here on November 22nd I have received no follow up. Sad Because I come from a family of small business and like to support small businesses But as a small business, you have to do it better than the big guy and unfortunately they didn't. We will be a 1 and done as will other people from our party. Would I recommend the food? Yes. Everything else? No. $850 bill, and we were all just so turned off leaving. When I reached out about our experience, I wasn't doing so in order for them to offer me anything, I reached out to them personally instead of leaving a review so that I could try and help them fix what I felt was really wrong. We ate both lunch and dinner at Piripi. We were in town and had eaten at three of their restaurants in Belize and were excited when we found out they had opened a restaurant near my hometown. We had never tried Octopus before and it was so good we had it for both lunch and dinner. Other highlights were the Bacon wrapped dates, Capresa tower and the Lamb and Beef meatballs. My girlfriend and I tried dining at piripi this evening, but the high school aged staff didn't seem to know how to serve us. The host greeted us with a "sup!?...." And preceded to explain that they closed in an hour so it would be good if we could order quickly... Which was fine but when we tried ordering cocktails and they had never seen an original Colorado ID and tried to explain their recent ID training, they took my ID for an awkward amount of time and brought it back still unsure if they we're going to serve us... super awkward. So we went to 24 carrot and everything was peaches. Sorry your staff is super young and inexperienced, must have been a really hard thing for them to just ask their manager if they could verify this ID. That's okay though, downtown Erie is young so you can't really even be surprised when it's amature hour still. (But don't worry it's not really at 24 carrot) ;) read more

Piripi is fantastic! Everything on the menu is flavorful and unique in its own way. Even their lunch menu is amazing!! Who would think that a mozzarella and shrimp melt could taste so good? We love tapas, so gave this new place in Erie a try. The staff was attentive and the food was pretty good. We enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates, lamb meatballs and gambas. I didn't care for their version of Cesar salad with actual anchovies vs the traditional version with anchovy paste integrated into a dressing. The patas bravas were good, but I prefer smaller, crispier bites or potatoes vs the larger wedges that they served, but the tangy sauce on top was spot on. The bar service could use some work. Got a French 75 cocktail that wasn't shaken, so all the gin sat at the bottom of the glass, plus they put a strange flavored sugar on the rim. Then we got a bottle of Spanish white wine that was so over-chilled, it took over an hour to warm up so you could actually taste it. With a few tweaks, I could give this a better rating. read more

We've been craving good tapas and didn't want to drive to Denver. A friend recommended this place and we went for my daughter's birthday. We were all pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We ordered several tapas and entrees and every single dish was delicious! Favorites included the calamari, meatballs, papas bravas, filet mignon and chicken picatta. We even happened to be there for Sunday happy hour which was a great deal on several tapas and drinks. They also had special touches like an adorable flower arrangement, card and parting gift for the birthday girl. Will be back for sure! read more

First time here. Went with husband and daughter. Food was good as was the Kir Royal drink. Service was lacking. Ordered appetizer and meal at same time. Meal came out first. Appetizer showed up 15 minutes after meals came out. Child's meal came out after our meals. Husband ordered Fish and chips. This came out with ONE piece of fish($24). Piripi has quickly become on of our favorite spots in downtown Erie. The food is delicious and they always have amazing specials. It is clear that the owners (one of whom is head chef) care a lot about their business and patrons. We love even just sitting at the bar and ordering a few tapas and a couple Elderflower gin and tonics. Great spot! read more

We had a outside table reservation for last night that we even confirmed on Friday and were told that it had already been noted it was for outside. We arrived 8 minutes early and were told no tables were available, but they suspected one may become available within 15 minutes. So we waited. At ten minutes past the reso time, we ordered a glass of wine and waited. Finally, at 15 minutes past the reso, a server came over and said he would do what he could to "respectfully open up a table." We told him we'd wait five more minutes. At twenty minutes past the reso, we decided to leave and paid for the wine; if the restaurant emphasized any level of customer service, they would have comped this wine that we wouldn't have ordered if we didn't have to wait, given their negligence. At 25 minutes past the reso, a table opened up as we walked out. And still no motion made to make up for their mistake. Given the zero concern for customer service, zero stars should be an option for this restaurant. read more

Another great restaurant in Erie. Piripi was awesome with full tables and people waiting. Great variety of entries. I had chicken parm, another person had the filet, and last was the fish and chips. The only small miss was no malt vinegar for the fish and chips. Everything else was perfect. I'm have the filet next time. read more

Pretty good. Food needed some more TLC and everything definitely needed salt & pepper. Also thought it was overpriced for the size of the dishes. $24 for fish and chips came with one fish portion and half a hand full of under cooked chips. We made a reservation on the patio for dinner. We made it just in time for happy hour. We ordered the eggplant hummus which was underwhelming. We weren't expecting to be served tortilla chips and a few veggies with the hummus. We definitely expected some house made pita bread, etc. Our entrees were really great, though! We had the filet mignon and the almond crusted cod. Our waiter was nice and provided great service. However, with covid, we expected the patio to have the tables 6 feet apart. It's crowded up there!! Definitely not following regulations and makes me reconsider coming back for my safety. Please limit your patio!! read more

Started out rough. Waited a bit for water and greeting, and then a full 30 minutes before anyone came for drink or app order. Waitress was apologetic and service improved from there. Drinks were good, food was very good, if a bit pricey. Nice ambiance and patio. They were packed! I am so sad because we were really looking forward to this new place in Erie. I would like to start by saying the food is good. The filet mug on was cooked perfectly. However, the good stops there. And we have given them multiple tries in the hopes new business kinks would be ironed out. Not so much. We had reservations last weekend and were told we would have to wait in the hall for a table, but that someone would be out to take a drink order while we waited. We waiting for 30 mins and saw no one. Finally, we were seated at a table on a very crowded patio, no social distancing precautions being taken. We put in a drink order and 1/2 of us got our drinks, while the other 1/2 waited 30 mins. Our server let us know that the bartender "Angela" was in a bad mood and kept yelling at her when she would inquire about our drinks. We asked about specials and she opened up her booklet and said, "would you like me to read them or can you just read them to yourselves?" We thought she was joking but she wasn't so we took the paper and read the specials aloud to the table. The service just went downhill from there, and we could tell the poor girl was overworked and exhausted. This was the case with the previous time we were there as well. Sadly, I don't think we will be back. An email was sent to the owner after the first terrible experience, and she said they would make changes in the service experience, and it seems to only have gotten worse. read more
