I have had Pistoleros Parrilla on my Happy Hour hit list for a while now. After seeing their content on social media, I HAD TO add it to my bookmarks! I'm so damn glad my coworker and I went after work today. We had the best time! Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in to when we left 3 hours later. The entrance to the upstairs bar makes you feel like you're a V.I.P.! If it's your first time here like it was ours, the downstairs isn't open quite yet. Head upstairs for Happy Hour at the bar. I'd also like to point out that they are one of the rare places that have a longer HH, from 4 to 6:30 pm. Score! Do note their HH runs from Wed to Sunday only! We ordered 4 cocktails and 2 appetizers. Mine: Tropical Threesome & Pistoleros Margarita Coworker: Mexican Espressotini & Smoke and Seduction Apps: Guacamole & Pulpo a las Brasas Let me just say the drinks are on point. I love it when they know how to make then absolutely perfect with just the right amount of alcohol. Some places make them too strong, others are underwhelming, but Pistoleros nails it on the head! The appetizers were filling and the flavors meshed so well together! From presentation to our last few bites, we savored every morsel. The food and drinks were great, but the staff and ambiance really made the whole experience even better. Chef ans GM Marco was walking the restaurant and came to chat with us a few times. He told us they opened about 6 months ago, and that he is working on some special menu items for the upcoming fall season. The downstairs area, known as the Pisto Lounge, is set for a soft opening sometime next month, with a grand opening planned for September. You'll want to follow them on the gram for the actual dates! @pistolerosparrilla Our bartenders Kimmy and Jenna were so welcoming and attentive to our needs, checking in often. Fernando the security dude was super cool, too! Before we left, Chef Marco even gave us a quick tour of the Pisto Lounge downstairs. I love the details, right down to the wine cellar style inspired booths! This is going to be a poppin' spot once it opens, trust!! They even have an outdoor patio upstairs which will be so nice when the weather chills out. Thank you to the staff at Pistoleros Parrilla for an exemplary first visit. It speaks volumes when management reaches out to you and really wants to make it the best experience possible. We felt the love, so stop by and do the same!! This place deserves way more than 5 stars!

Arranchera entree - plus beans and tortilla, very good!

Great ambiance and very friendly bartenders - excited this place is so close by I came in here last Wednesday and sat at the upstairs bar, highlight was the skinny marg and the arranchera entree (super good!) downside was the chicken entree dish, was extremely dry and disappointing.. Good experience and I recommend to anybody in area will most likely be back, I just won't get the chicken dish again lol

Old Town Scottsdale has no shortage of restaurants, but Pistoleros feels rooted in something deeper than trend. Founded by brothers Luke and Jake Kory alongside Chef Marco Garcia -- whose culinary perspective was shaped by the borderlands of Nogales -- the restaurant draws heavily from the traditions of Northern Mexico and Sonoran fire cooking. The design language immediately sets the tone. Breeze block walls, dark steel staircases, warm walnut woods, glowing amber lighting, leather banquettes, and contemporary Mexican artwork create a space that feels modern and distinctly Sonoran. Both visits featured a live DJ, and while it's louder than I would typically prefer for a long dinner centered around incredible food, the atmosphere is undeniably vibrant and social in a way that fits Old Town Scottsdale beautifully. Standout dishes included the Pulpo A Las Brasas -- smoky mesquite-grilled octopus marinated in achiote, citrus, and warm spices with Sonoran chimichurri -- along with the bubbling Queso Fundido with chorizo and the bright, herbaceous Aguachile Verde layered with lime, serrano, cucumber, avocado, cilantro, and crisp red onion. We also ordered the 1855 Ribeye, a beautifully cooked Black Angus boneless ribeye with an incredible tenderness and mesquite-charred finish. The centerpiece of the evening, however, was the Vaquero Tomahawk -- a dramatic 40 oz bone-in ribeye from Arizona's Local Stockyards. Cocktails were equally memorable. The Dirty Horchata arrived with fire-lit cinnamon smoke, while the Thirst Trap balanced passion fruit, tequila, lime, vanilla bean, and sparkling wine into something dangerously easy to drink. For steak lovers and Sonoran cooking, I Highly recommend!!

First time enjoying a seat at the bar for dinner last night. They have a beautiful open air patio with decent views. Our server, Lizzie (bar manager), provided great service and made our visit enjoyable. The chicken and roasted vegetables were a perfect light dinner for sharing. The chicken was seasoned great! Of course...when it's Scottsdale the prices are a bit higher than what I believe makes it a great value, but it was over-shined by great execution.

I'd probably give a 4.5 if that was possible, but 4 isn't really a fair rating. Overall the experience was great. We had reservations and were seated pretty quickly. Service was helpful and friendly but maybe a bit on the slow side. I do wish that we would have gotten a seat indoors since the reservation didn't specify that we may be outside and AZ this spring is hot as hell. Appetizers were delicious. We had the tuna crudo, which is essentially a tuna tartare with avocado and a delicious sauce. We also got the fried beef and onion appetizer, but don't remember the name. Texture was different, but we were warned of this, and it was really good. We ate almost all of it. The appetizers' size was almost too big, that we didn't have much appetite when it came to ordering entrees. We shared the mahi mahi (dorado?) and it was the bomb. Highly recommend this. The churro dessert topped it off nicely. I'd definitely recommend Pistoleros. The vibe and food were both very enjoyable!

Located in the Old Scottsdale area, Pistoleros Parrilla is a lively environment, yet dimly lit. It's a trendy Mexican restaurant that is moderately priced. Initially walking in, I loved the indoor and outdoor seating and environment. There was a DJ playing music in the background and it looked very cool. We ordered the Aracherra and Pollo Nogales Entomatadas. The Aracherra was requested "rare" and was perfectly cooked. While it was spiced quite nicely, it also came with chimichurri sauce, salsa, manchego cheese cubes, and pickled onions. You can season your steak as much or as little as you like, although it didn't need anything extra. The steak was wonderfully spiced. While my guest enjoyed her steak, I ordered the Pollo Nogales Entomatadas, which are chicken enchiladas. They were also presented beautifully. While it's meant to be tomato-heavy, it was perfectly cheesy and had chicken in every bite. Three enchiladas were provided, topped with crema and tostada strips. I ate about every bite. It was rich, but not heavy. The chicken was very good and in every piece of the dish. It also looked pleasing. We ordered a side of Frijoles Negros de la Olla, which are vegetarian black beans. Served in cast iron dish, it was very standard tasting. For a cocktail, my friend ordered a Spicy Watermelon Margarita, and she loved every bit of it. It looked awesome, too. Our server was also great. She really was patient as we asked question. The con of our meal was the dessert. We ordered churros, and they came with three sauces - chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I was surprised to say the strawberry was my favorite. It was perfectly sweet and tart. What made the dessert bad was the fact the churros weren't fully cooked inside. The churros came out dark, but clearly not finished when we bit into them. Overall, the restaurant is worth the price paid (except for the churros). It's a great spot to hit on the weekend or with friends. The entrees were wonderful and full of flavor.

Went there for Chef's week as well as celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant atmosphere was low key and inviting with Hispanic music playing in the background.. My husband ordered the special chef's menu and I ordered the skirt steak. Service was very good.. We ordered chips and salsa while deciding on our food. Salsa was nice and with a little kick. We didn't care so much for the tortilla chips which seemed without taste and like a hard tortilla shell turn in half, the chef's menu consisted of a delicious appetizer with crispy beef pieces, avocado, red onion. And spices. The chicken dish, rice, steak, and tres leche cake were all wonderful. It was a pleasant surprise that the chef came out and visited the tables and shared a bit of information on the food and restaurant. As the restaurant started to fill up with patrons, the music got louder as well as everyone's conversations. We decided at that point to leave as we were unable to hear each other. The delicious food will make it a repeat but maybe an earlier reservation. Comida deliciosa, todo el mundo debería probar.!

I was really excited to try Pistoleros Parrilla, but it ended up being pretty disappointing. The atmosphere is definitely cute with a fun Spanish-inspired vibe, but that was honestly the highlight. The food just wasn't memorable. The queso dried up super fast and became almost hard, with a strange taste. The filet mignon was average at best. The only standout for me was the ceviche it actually really good!!! Service was also extremely slow, which made the experience even more frustrating. Overall, I wouldn't go back

Great spot. Very nice yet hip. Amazing steaks. Great cocktail + wine selection and the service was excellent and very friendly. Can't wait to go back!

We've been to Pistoleros twice now. What an amazing new restaurant and bar in old town Scottsdale. We feel like we're transported to a restaurant in Mexico. We've had the chips and salsa, ceviche de Camaros, Sonoran short ribs, and Arroz Mexicano. The short rib was big enough to share. All of the margaritas are amazing.

We decided to grab a table in the bar instead of our reservation in the dining room since it was 8pm we wanted a little more action. We ordered the pork chop and pork tenderloin. The pork chop showed up completely different from the menu description and didn't look like any photos at all. Even had a different potato without being told. I actually made a joke about the giant steak knife provided, assuming I wouldn't need it for pork cooked medium. Boy was I wrong!!! I could barely cut the meat and chewing it was impossible. I asked the server to take it back as it was honestly inedible. After seeing the pork tenderloin I decided to go with my trusty chicken flatbread which is actually very good! My dining companion asked for her dish to be redone without the very sweet sauce. . The manager even decided to argue with her about the sweetness of the dish. They brought out the rock hard pork chop again instead! At this point we just decided to share the flatbread. The server was a nice guy but made sure to remind us they closed at 9pm (It was 9:02). We would have been gone by 9 if the food wasn't so messed up. Plenty of people were still in the restaurant. We ended up leaving our half full wine just to get out of there. I would return for HH at the bar but NEVER have dinner here again.

The staff and service were friendly and attentive right from the start. The drinks were fantastic--a little too easy to drink! As for the food, the short ribs I ordered were incredible, and my wife really enjoyed her Mac and cheese. The only real miss of the night was my daughter's beef stroganoff. They swapped traditional egg noodles for spaghetti-style noodles, and overall the dish just missed the mark for her. Thankfully, the desserts brought things back on a high note--they were absolutely delicious. Overall, a solid spot with great atmosphere, service, and drinks.

Instead, we were publicly embarrassed and treated like criminals for absolutely no reason. After we were seated, I closed the curtain because the table next to us was loud and obnoxious. Minutes later, the manager, Hannah, walked over and decided our entire group was "too intoxicated" to be served. Not a single person in our group was causing a scene, being disrespectful, or acting out of control. We were sitting at our table, ordering dinner. What makes this even more ridiculous is that after taking our drink order, Hannah personally brought out three green tea drinks in champagne glasses. Then, almost immediately afterward, she decided we were somehow too intoxicated to stay. Which is it? If we were supposedly too drunk to be there, why were drinks being served in the first place? We had already ordered what would have been around a $700 meal, and instead of being treated with basic respect, we were stereotyped because we were a bachelorette party. It felt like Hannah had already made up her mind before giving us any chance to prove otherwise. Restaurants absolutely have the right to refuse service to genuinely intoxicated guests. What they should not do is make assumptions based on the type of celebration or the size of a group. This wasn't responsible service--it was poor judgment, inconsistent management, and an incredibly embarrassing way to treat paying customers. We'll happily spend our money somewhere that values its guests instead of profiling them. !!! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! We ended up at ZUZUs, they treated us with respect and dignity. Food was 10/10.

The bar is a little loud and there's way too many lights on and open windows for a dinner spot in my opinion. We ordered cocktails east coast sour is amazing I could have drank 10 it was dangerous lol They were offering a signature summer menu and it was excellent. The food and price. $79 each person got and app entrees and side plus dessert. I got crispy calamari fries and my man got meatballs. We shared everything so it's like having the best of the menu! I got the pork chop and mashed potatoes. He got the filet and roasted broccoli with lemon. For dessert I had some butter cake and he had crème brûlée. The service was outstanding and again the food was 10/10.

Food was great. The restaurant was super clean and they had complimentary valet. Service at the restaurant was where I rated them lower. Our waiter, was less than attentive. We told him it was our first time at Bourbon & Bones but he was more focused on regulars and a manager. The servers and support were fantastic. We received a phone call 2 days later, which I thought was a nice touch. We frequent Mastro's, Maple & Ash, Fleming's, and Steak 44. Food wise I put it in my Top 3. Unfortunately. I would put waiter service at the bottom. If you are going for food alone it's a great choice. If it's for service. I would suggest Mastro's or Maple & Ash. They are the best!

Found another spot to walk to for lunch!! Bootleggers Modern American Smokehouse is LEGIT!! I know…read morebecause Guy Fieri said so!!! The service we received was superb, and our food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the Hickman Deviled Eggs to start and WOW!! They definitely put their own twist on these bad boys!! They are plated beautifully and taste even better! I chose the Pick Two option for lunch and I was very satisfied. I was a bit worried when someone mentioned the brisket was dry.. although I had a tiny part of one that was dry, the rest of it was juicy and tender. Yummm!!! The Prime Brisket and Pulled Pork were perfectly cooked and d went well with the Sweet Potato Fries. My coworker got the Snitch Burger and even though the bun was on the thick side, it was a tasty burger! Prices are reasonable and parking isn't an issue. This place has a very casual vibe with the bar seating on one side and the dining room on the other. Give it shot and hop on The Joy Bus at Bootleggers Modern American Smokehouse!

Well, this was not the review I was expecting to write. I was first introduced to Bootleggers when…read morethere was one on Shea. You can go there to see my review and how happy it made me. That location became something of a semi regular stop even after I moved to the other side of the valley. I use to introduce all my friends when they visited me to Bootleggers at that location. After it closed, my husband and I decided to do a small gathering (5 people) at the Scottsdale location expecting the same experience at 4pm. Oh god how wrong I was. TLDR: If you want to be full after you ate, cool, ice in your drink, ADA accessible and have clean bathrooms, this place is not recommended. Full Review: We walked into an empty restaurant and you could tell the AC was dying/dead. It wasn't as hot as normal and we figured a place has a problem every once in awhile and continued to stay. We should have left the moment we got there The 2 girls working appearently never understood the concept ice. The water had like 3 half melted cubes in it. Considering that even though it was 120, but 101 out, and we were seated inside, you'd think there could at least be that. Now this where you might say "wow, you sound picky and entitled. its just eater." I wish I had the forethought to take pictures. Because if you were there, you would get it. I had to ask for refills for the table because they never even tried and were barely around. Reminder the place was empty minus us at 4pm. The ladies restroom had a small layer of water and I had to move random furniture to help get my mother (who is a veteran in a wheelchair) into the bathroom. It smelled horrific and was just gross. Getting her in and out was like a puzzle. So if you are wheelchair bound looking for ADA friendly, skip this unless you have a friend willing to just move the stuff in your way because there is no way you can do it. Now the Food. You would think that at least the food would be fine. That was of course the main reason I brought people there. The Apple pie moonshine and Peach moonshine were fanatic. The food tasted delicious BUT...big BUT here all the portions are hyper reduced. Like I use to get 5 eggs on the deviled eggs, only 3. The sweet potato fries of heaven, was half of the portion. Same with every single appetizer. My pork belly tacos had 3 tacos but the plating wasn't just different, but the tacos were ridiculously small. The only item that had the same portions I was accustomed to was the BBQ platter. My husband quietly paid the bill (around 300) and we left to find a place with AC and apologized profusely to our family. They were hot, still hungry and my mother felt like a burden due to the staff. I don't know if that was just the naturla difference between the 2 locations or if it has new management but, Good bye Bootleggers. NEVER AGAIN. Which is really sad because this use to be one of my favorites.
