I have always appreciated the thorough and attentive service at Take 5 Oil Change, which is why this recent experience was so surprising and disappointing. During my visit, several standard procedures were not performed. My fluids and tires were not checked, and my windshield was not cleaned--services I have come to expect as part of your regular oil change process. When I noticed that my windshield washer fluid had not been checked, I had to specifically request it, at which point the technician added it. I had my front breaks worked on 3 weeks ago. No noise came from these breaks but I was told they…read moreneeded to be replaced. Since then the breaks in the front make a loud squeaking noise almost every time i pull to a stop. It's beyond distracting and frustrating to hear this loud sound at each stop sign and stop light. I took the car back and explained the issue. The mechanic came back and said the noise was from the back. I already had the back breaks replaced and the loud noise was clearly coming from upfront of the car, not it's rear. When I pull forward to a stop they squeal. That is what front breaks do. The breaks do not squeal when i pull backwards to a stop. The back breaks would do that. I asked the manager to give the car a test drive and he declined saying he would not hear the breaks because he has bad hearing. The money I spent put me in a financial hole. I spent over 500 dollars. I paid for good work and they refused to fix the problem. Instead they tried to sale me more products to maybe give a solution to the issue they said was not an issue... Yet the poor break job they did, they refused to fix. Trust in people is supposed to mean something. Such trust can create lasting clients. Breaking faith can loss them. My review was responded to by telling me to give a certain call and when I did, it went back to the incompetent that did the damage. I have already spoke to that and he will do nothing for me. He is rude and unethical. I am considering taking this to small claims court. I have been writing by two different mechanics that it was total incompetence. The alternator was bad and the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. They took care of it all and it was great service and a very reasonable price. A couple weeks later I needed some brake work done, oil change and tire rotation and there was a noise when I would accelerate. I made an appointment to drop it off at 9 am and at 1245 they called to let me know it was done. They replaced all rotors and pads, adjusted the parking brake, oil change and tire rotation and replaced the serpentine belt since it had cracks in it. I waited to speak to a manager and the manager adamantly stated that no one that works there has an iPhone so no one would steal it. I kept explaining that if it got vacuumed that they should have told me as it's not that expensive to buy a new one. I doubt they vacuumed it because it's not easy to remove from the ac line. This man hung up on me when I said I am more upset that my item was either stolen or vacuumed without anyone telling me as the item only costs $9 and I could have replaced it before my trip. HE HUNG UP ON A PAYING RECURRING CUSTOMER. #1. It's ridiculous for him to state that no one the works there has an iPhone. How does he know what type of phone everyone has? #2. If a customer is stating that the item is missing after leaving then work with the customer. #3. Extremely unprofessional to hang up on a customer with a complaint about service. They just lost a good customer over a $9 iPhone jack adapter.
