Today was the first time that my wife and I stopped by after visiting Lake Livingston. We were originally going to stop at Whataburger but after some searching for a local restaurant we decided to stop here. From the outside the place looks a bit small but inside its pretty spacious and decorated very nicely. It reminds me of a 50s style restaurant like on the movie Grease. I had a baked potato with chopped Beef and I can definitely say that it was one of the best that I have had for a while. The meat tasted very fresh like if it had been cooked earlier that day. The service staff was very nice and attentive if we needed anything like drinks or napkins. The price was not expensive at all and we definitely left full and satisfied. After we finished the owner came around and greeted us and asked if we had enjoyed our meal. That was a very nice gesture that doesn't happen too often in restaurants and it is definitely welcomed. Overall I will be stopping by again and definatley recommend to anyone thinking of stopping by. read more

The food has been great the last 3 times I have eaten there. The dining area needs a good clean. I notice some wipe at the table with a hit & miss attitude & some really clean it. First of all, we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant; the ambiance was neat and the decor was adorable. Secondly, the positive attitudes of the entire staff made this experience so refreshing. They were so friendly and service was very quick! We didn't realize when we showed up that they were closing in 10 minutes, but not one employee made us feel like they were inconvenienced with having to serve us so close to closing time! And lastly, the food was awesome! The ribs and homemade BBQ sauce were full of flavor and the ribs were very tender. The potato salad and beans were also on point!!! I visited the Pit Row Pit Stop for the first time, about two weeks ago. It was definitely an enjoyable experience. The staff was very nice and accommodating, making sure we received a table large enough for our party. The owner made it a point to come out and ask how the food was and how his customers were doing-which BTW is amazing and I wished more restaurants would do the same. I ordered the regular burger, and it was delicious. It was very large and there was a considerable amount of veggies on it too. The bread-which I believe was sour dough-complimented the burger very well. The price is a little high for just a burger and no fries, however, I think it's okay to pay a little more for the excellent service, and for the experience. For Livingston, the Pit Row Pit Stope is definitely a better alternative to McDonalds, Burger King, and Sonic. Definitely a great place to dine out! read more

In town for a wedding and wanted some place fun and local for breakfast. Fun exterior and interior. All the waitstaff were great. HIGHLY recommend the blueberry pancakes. Tons of blueberries inside, not just sprinkled on the top like some places. The french toast was recommended by our waitress and it was also fabulous; lots of cinnamon and cooked to perfection. One person in our party ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet; she wouldn't re-order because of too many peppers. The homemade biscuits were also a hit. My 10 year old and I stopped in here on the way home from Camp Cho Yeh. My son told me to give them 5 stars because he loved the jukebox, the huge jars of colored sprinkles and the clean bathrooms. I have to agree with him because of the fresh cooked food, the generous portions and the friendly service. We came at rush hour and the wait staff kept their cool. They were sweet, smiley and polite the whole time. Plus, there was plenty of nostalgia up on the walls to keep us talking. My cheesesteak was 8 ounces of top sirloin on a toasted bun with grilled onions and sweet pepper. My son got the spare ribs, which were perfectly moist and tangy. Dessert was a "rainbow" milkshake with every color of sprinkles and a mountain of whipped cream. Super cute place. read more

The inside aesthetics were absolutely pleasurable. Unfortunately, the decor was the only aspect noteworthy. Unless you love waiting an hour and a half for a plate of scrambled eggs, I recommend looking elsewhere for an easy breakfast dish. Our server forgot multiple items off our plates when the food finally did arrive and did not bring our drinks until 30 minutes of sitting there. For 2 years, my mother, all her friends, my uncle and so many have RAVED about Pit Row Pit Stop! I FINALLY got the chance to experience this place for myself...twice (no shame)! First and foremost, I have always loved the look of this little gem from the road. The decor is bright and exactly what you would expect from its name...centered around old cars. There is a friendly feel as soon as you walk in & it is only enhanced by either one of the staff, or the owner himself, welcoming you. The menu is the perfect size; plenty of options, but not too overwhelming. And, as someone who lives in the big city (Houston), I could give a soliloquy on how amazing the prices are for the very generous portions of food you receive! Now, let's get to the good stuff...fair pricing is great, but if the food isn't, then it's not so exciting. But, I can honestly say that the food is....FANTASTIC! Everything is fresh and made-to-order and EVERYTHING is flavorful and, again, the portions are VERY generous! To top off the experience, the waitstaff is very friendly, attentive to your needs and (my big thing)...keeps your drinks filled! The owner, Frankie, also makes his way around the restaurant greeting every patron, but more than just saying "is everything okay", he actually engages, thanks you for coming and finds out a little bit about you! On our travels we enjoy eating at local places. This Pit Stop had a great atmosphere and decor. The waitresses were very outgoing and caring about our experience. The chopped ribeye sandwich and bake beans where superb. The Chile cheese fry were good... just too much cheese sauce. So if you order that ask for light sauce and it will be balanced with yummy goodness. Oh and it would be nice to serve that meal on a hard plate not a plastic tray with paper.
