This is the cutest little place. It's in a spot that I never would have found on my own since I don't usually go that direction, but I decided to look at review suggestions for restaurants. It is reminiscent of 50's diner style and one of the few places you can find a traditional malt shake (I vaguely remember making those as a child). It's decorated very cute and you will recognize the place by the flags outside of the little diner. I'm not a super talkative person and not everyone is always friendly at the restaurants. I try not to be demanding and don't expect small towns to have the same type of service as the city, but I have to say that I did feel very welcomed here. They were busy and didn't act stressed. They checked each table consistently and went above and beyond. The food was ready in a very acceptable amount of time. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I saw their sign that they were offering the jalapeño cheddar bun as a new thing and I asked for my Philly to be made on this bread. It's a really delicious bread that is soft and not too spicy. Much better than a bland bread to me. I believe this place would be able to handle anyone's specific orders on how they would like their burgers. Always good to know when you are craving something specific! I ate my food too fast to get an appropriate photo so I only have a pic of my half eaten Philly. The onion rings were good and well battered - not too greasy like some places I've been. My son ordered the double cheeseburger and downed that pretty fast (it looked good also). I was too full after eating my onion rings and Philly to have a malt, shake or ice cream. However, I tried a sip of the malt my son got and it was delicious. The ice cream my little one got was Blue Bell ice cream. She thoroughly enjoyed that and the extra sprinkles they gave her! She was a happy mess! Check out the menu as you will find more on it than just burgers. I will be back to try that banana split or a sundae with marshmallow, fudge and butterscotch. That sounds good, but my belly was too full to try it just yet. Staff is friendly and attentive. I noticed they can handle large groups. Not all places I've been to around here can handle small groups in a rush and with ease so I was happy to see that in case I wish to have a celebration or gathering there in the future. Great food and very friendly service. Went out for lunch and had the three meat platter. It comes with sausages, brisket, and ribs and they were phenomenal. Brisket was tender and very smoky just the way you would want it. The sausages were bite size and packed with flavor. Last but not least were the ribs. They cam right off the bone and were great. We just stopped in coming back from a fishing trip at Lake Sam Rayburn and have to say that the BBQ brisket, ribs & sausage platter was some of the best BBQ the 3 of us have had in some time. The burgers look outstanding as well & will be trying that on out next trip through Livingston in a few months. Can't wait to go back!!! Stopped here for lunch with a large group recently and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is 50's malt shop and is cute as can be. Bright colors and old-time signs decorate the walls to create a lively atmosphere. The food, standard sandwich shop fare, was served hot and fresh. I chose a BBQ pork sandwich with onion rings, which was very good. Others at my table had the CFS, a huge piece of steak that was reported to be delicious; the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches (yum!); and cheeseburgers (dee-lish!) - and let's not forget the soda shoppe ice cream for dessert. Service was very good, especially for the size of our group: fast, attentive and efficient. The owner even came over to visit with us, a very friendly fellow. We were driving through town & thought we'd give this place a try. It's a delicious, fun place to stop. The decor is really cute & cheerful with a fun atmosphere. We didn't have the BBQ so I can't comment on that. I had a cheeseburger. The cheese was plentiful & perfectly melted. Don't know what kind of hamburger bun they used but it was delicious--very soft & flavorful. The onion rings were very good & not greasy. My husband had the Frito pie which was also delicious & very cheesy. Portions were good sized & I feel very reasonably priced. It seems to be a very popular place. Bbq plate was soooooo good! Plate has ribs, brisket, sausage, potatoe salad, and baked beans. You have your choice of sides but I got potato salad and baked beans and they were also very good. Waitress was exceptionally friendly and owner walked around making sure everyone's meals were good. If you are ever around Livingston, TX I highly recommend this hidden gem. read more

This was the cutest little diner off 190 that I highly recommend!! Food was GREAT. My husband ordered a double burger thinking that patty would be thin. The patties were HUGE! I had a grilled shrimp po'boy oh my! Grandson had a kids cheeseburger and of course an ice cream! AWESOME food!! The owner, Frankie, had visited Harley-Davidson of Kingwood a while back and mentioned he owned the Pit Row. I was setting up a ride for Riding Academy graduates and New Riders but needed a destination. I gave Frankie a call and he agreed to host us. The kicker is they are normally closed on Sundays!!! We arrived and hit them with over 50 hunger riders and passengers all at once! Frankie and his staff were on game and worked to get everyone drinks and appetizers out as fast as possible (corn and jalapeno fritters were delicious!!). The main meals took a little longer, but with 50+ customers at once, that's understandable. I'll tell you it was WELL worth the wait!!! A simple cheese burger and onion rings and DANG!!! Homemade buns, perfectly seasoned beef patties (handmade), fresh veggies. Every one of our group said they enjoyed the food!!! Everything is fresh and made to order!!! We were told about their steak nights on Friday and Saturday nights. Going to make it a point to go back and try it!! read more

I was passing thru Livingston and I came to Yelp for suggestions. Yelp led me to this restaurant. The food and the service here was great. There were four of us and everyone got something different. There is bar b que, stuffed potatoes, sandwiches you name it. The sundaes and other desserts looked wonderful. We were just too full to eat any. What a great little gem!! My father came up from Houston and we came here to eat with the whole family!! The place is set up like an old diner and they were spot of with the decor! (thumbs up) the wait staff was friendly and Victoria our waitress made sure we were happy while we waited for our meal... they make everything fresh and on the spot. My dad got the chicken fried steak and said it was fantastic, one of the boys got the Frito Pie and gobbled it up (he's the picky eater) and said it was great I snuck a couple of bites and the chili did not taste like cheap canned chili! Great job on that dish! My other son got the bacon and chicken fried chicken sandwich (yes it's a mouth full to say) and even bigger to eat! The chicken was tender and the batter was crispy the perfect combo! Myself and the boys friend got the hamburgers and again perfect they were juicy but not oily great flavor and the buns are superb . Last but not least my husband got the pulled pork sandwich they place the pork on the bun and you get the bar-b-que sauce so that you control how much sauce you get! The sauce is not a cheap bottle variety and has a flavor that can only be tasted to appreciate. So overall our first visit to the cute little gem was definitely one that will be repeated!
