We've been out here in big bear for 4 days and we were tired of breakfast in the morning so we came for breakfast here and it was delicious. I got a mimosa to make it a breakfast meal hehe. I don't leave reviews often but this one deserves it. We absolutely annihilated our food and still couldn't eat it all. We expected quite the opposite when we walked in. We didn't think the food would be homemade, service would be subpar based on walking into a slow wait; and a "new management" sign you always take a risk....but much to our surprise, they completely blew our minds - this will 100% be a staple for us in Big Bear moving forward. We are locals, and when they opened 3 months ago, we decided to wait until this new restaurant ironed out the kinks of a new business. The food was outstanding! We tried their hummus, beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, gyro wrap with fries, salad, tzatziki, garlic sauce and for an exceptional ending.....their homemade rice pudding for dessert! Delicious! What a hit! Carlos and Naraya were awesome working together. Best meal all year. We will continue to frequent this restaurant. We will also be sharing it with our friends and neighbors. I saw this place was newer on this trip so we decided to give it a try. It took over another restaurant and it's still pretty big. We ordered a too go order so we waited in the restaurant. They have a air hockey table that costs 1penny to play which is very reasonable but it's not the best air hockey table. The corners need some work or something. It's not quite working right. Everyone was very friendly. We got the chicken shwarma and it was good. I was excited about the pomegranate sauce but it could have used more. It was good. So worth a try. read more

This place was a GREAT surprise! When strolling down Big Bear Village, we looked up a few places to eat. Pita House was a 2 minute walk from where we were. The cashier at the store we were at informed us they that they've heard positive reviews. When we arrived it was very empty and we didn't recognize it. Turns out they are new to Big Bear Village. The vibe is upbeat and slightly elevated. The mini brewery caught our eye when we first walked in. We sat down and Dennis was our server. He was amazing and attentive. 3 of the 4 in our party ordered the gryo (beef/lamb) and one chicken shawarma. Both of these dishes were BEYOND flavorful. They tasted fresh, the tzatziki sauce was tangy, minty, and slightly spiced. I ordered the rice as a side dish and it was so buttery and light (def recommend as a side, but the fries that come with the dishes were crispy and warm too!! So either option is a good one!) Me and my boyfriend took a spontaneous getaway trip to big bear and we ate here two days in a row! the baba ganoush and the hummus was amazing as well as the service. The first day we stoped by just to pick up some baba ganoush to go as well as play a game of pool with some beers. Noah was very helpful and showed us where to get the cue ball after I scratched the ball. The second day we came back before leaving and got lamb gyros and the appetizer with tzatiki, baba ganoush (again), and hummus. the gyro meat was nice thick and well seasoned and the dips were tasty,,, i loved the pita very soft. Everything was seriously delicious! I especially loved the arugula salad and the hummus was incredible. The pita bread was warm with a slight crisp that tasted really good. Our server was actually the head chef and he was super personable and friendly. He brought us the baklava they had just made for dessert. It was still warm and incredibly delicious. Came with my family and we ordered a variety of food. Dolmas came first and they were good. Add some of the included Taziki sauce and they were great. I only got 1 before my daughter finished them off. Next was the dip plate. Lightly toasted Pita bread, along with Baba Ganoush, Hummus and some more Taziki sauce. The first two sauces were good, but with the garlicky Taziki it was even better. My wife got the chicken sandwich and fries. There was plenty of tasty meat. And follow the pattern here, we added some of the Taziki sauce and it was superb. My niece had the Lamb/beef platter. And I shared too. In addition to the meat there was some fresh salad, and yellow rice. Plus some hummus. It was good. And once again I have to say it was better with the Taziki sauce. I do think both the sandwich and platter would benefit with included sauce. All four of us enjoyed our lunch. read more

I have never left a negative review before, but our experience here was completely unacceptable. The food and service fell far below even basic standards. I ordered the Gyro A' la Carte and the Mixed Plate, along with a dessert. The dessert was missing from our order. We were also served burnt meat and cold rice. The kitchen took an incredibly long time to prepare the food, even though the restaurant was essentially empty. Unfortunately, I now understand why. I'm including photos with this review so people can see exactly what we received. The restaurant is only about a 3-minute drive from our home, yet when we opened the containers, the food was already cold. I tried to eat it, but the food was so disappointing that I simply couldn't. I eat one meal a day, so when I finally sit down to eat, I expect that meal to at least be edible. What made the experience even worse was how the situation was handled afterward. The next day, I went back and asked to speak with the owner. He refused to come speak with me and instead had an employee tell me that there would be no refund. I returned the unacceptable food and left. Later that evening, I disputed the charge with my credit card company and ultimately received the refund. There are so many good restaurants around that there is absolutely no reason to waste your time or money here. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else. If you're looking for a much better option, try Teddy Bear across the street. read more

First of all, the food is spectacular. 5 stars for the food. I took my mother for drinks and appetizers and was very disappointed with the service. I had to get up multiple times to find our server including asking for meal setups on the patio. His lack of attention and customer service was 5 stars as well. After getting up to ask for multiple to go boxes, I also had to go ask for a bag. He was pleasant although better qualified to buss that serve tables. The restaurant wasn't especially busy, he was just lacking awareness. And most importantly, our drinks took twenty minutes for the first round... still left a customary 20% tip. Our waitress was very attentive. Went in on a Friday around 2:30. Lots of tables with a tap room that was cool to look at. There are 2 big rooms (see pics). One a bar area with a foosball table and a pool table with plenty of room to play. We ordered the shwarma wrap and the falafel wrap. Both came w/amazing french fries. Asked for a side of tzatziki , but think we got another dip as it was not cucumber forward. The pickles didn't make the plate either, but the shawarma wrap was chock full of beef and very tasty, although a little on the skinny side. The falafel wrap was a little meh... falafels were small & squished- next time will get the platter that comes with pita bread, which is how we usually get it. The drink menu is extensive and draft beers reasonably priced. Will definitely go back and try the platters instead of the wraps (which clearly stated on menu that they were tortillas - the tortillas were very nicely grilled & tasted fine, but think pita bread is the way to go. read more

But after 28 minutes still no food, I went up to the front and I asked why it would take this long? The owner it looked liked, told me that everything is fresh and it takes time? Um excuse me it's shawarma on a spit, you shave the meat , open the bread , put the toppings and sauce and it's good to go? She even gave me attitude. Saying it's not jack in the box. after 33 minutes my Togo order finally came out. Atleast the blond waitress was very kind offering me a water while I wait. Fast friendly and delicious! The smoky babaganoush has me dreaming about returning just to have more. The garlic hummus with the lamb plate is outstanding. We added a side of fries to round out our meal. These fries are so crispy and crunchy!! To top it off, the freshly baked baklava was perfect. Not too sweet but perfectly balanced.
