Mediterranean PITA
Elle S.

Soooooo awesome. It was our first time here and we will most definitely be back ASAP. Service was great! Portions were large and so fresh. The place was clean and inviting. I loved the Mediterranean Pita. My boyfriend loved the baba ganoush.

Chicken Philly

First time here! That has to be one of the best chicken Philly I have had with tzatziki sauce! It came out piping hot and just as ordered, because I don't do green peppers. Small quaint restaurant, but the food is excellent! Service was spot on. Had about four customers in here at the same time. I would say definitely come in here for either lunch or dinner. They are open Monday through Sunday!

Amazing pita sandwich!

We came here on a Friday night about 7:00pm because of the great Yelp reviews! I have to say we agree with them! We had a gyro pita and a gyro pita plate. They were the best we've ever had! We can't wait to go again. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large! Everyone here is so friendly! Our new "go to" place for gyro pitas.

Falafel Pita

Great lunch spot, the pita and falafel here are both delicious!! I love that they have a drive thru too!

Everyone here is so friendly and the food is great I don't get by that side of town often but when I do, I have to stop here The food is so good. The price is reasonable.

So good - yummm! We tried their drive through tonight. Food came just as hot and fresh as if we were sitting inside.

The food is yummy in my tummy. Give the gyro sandwich a try. Decent price and a lot of meat.

Amazing food. THE best shawarma and beef pitas I've ever had (and I've had a lot). The baba ganush was incredible.

Ask the Community - Pita Island

Do you use seed oils for the food / fries?

Hi, we use canola oil.

Are there any gluten free options?

Yes there are. I recall seeing them posted on the windows at the drive thru - check their site, I'm sure they are listed.

I see they have Greek fries however no description of what's on them; what are the fries covered with to make them Greek?

Hi, Our Pita Island Greek Fries contain a special garlic sauce made from fresh garlic cloves (not dry powder) and herbs the fries are topped off with freshly chopped parsely,…

The waitress never gave us or offered us any refills on drinks. She was gone most of the night. There's an upcharge for fresh bread and so I said yeah, we'll do it. She said she'd bring out the pee-packaged pita bread and the fresh bread that we paid extra for. Then she never brought out the pee-packaged stuff like she said she was going to. The bread was ok, but they only gave us 3 pieces of pita bread which were about the size of a sand dollar. This was not enough bread for 2 people with 3 dips. Also, the fries were the kind of fries you get when it looks like they haven't cleaned the grease in a while. The babaganoush was really good. But everything else was pretty mediocre. I've been here 3 or 4 times and everytime I feel as though the service is bad and the food is overpriced. It's really sad, but I want to like this place, but I can't. Also, they have a rewards program but my waitress didn't try to get me to sign up. I asked when I saw it. It's a pet peeve of mine. But- I guess she doesn't really care or offer it because she probably doesn't think people will come back. My friend who joined me tonight is Muslim and she needed a place to pray, but this place didn't have one. I was surprised to learn that tonight as well. Spend your money elsewhere.

A very nice server came to take our order and bring our food. We were there talking for quite a long while, and he checked on us often, even after we had finished eating. We paid at the counter. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat. It normally comes with bets and olives, but I ordered it without them. My friends ordered the chicken shawarma plate, which is huge. Both were really good. This place is a solid choice for Mediterranean food. The service is great and so is the good, served in an inviting atmosphere.

They gave us a number and we found a table to sit down at. After ordering, our food was delivered to the table in about 5 minutes. For myself, I ordered a Greek Salad wrap. My husband ordered the Great Greek Gyro (lamb) with feta fries. The food was unbelievable - especially the feta fries. I could not stop eating them. The restaurant was bright and clean. Parking was plentiful because The Great Greek is located in a shopping center. This is a chain across the country and I definitely would go to another one if I was nearby.

Many fellow…read moreYelpers raved about this place, and I knew I had to try it when I was in the mood for Mediterranean and in the area (~15 miles from my house). When you enter the Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, you have to maneuver through tricky shared parking to find a space. We dined half past 6pm on Memorial Day, so thankfully parking was easier as I believe some businesses were closed for the holiday. Though parking is tight, there is no shortage of seating in this establishment. Some bench-style seating as well as chairs to accommodate whichever you prefer. What We Ordered: ~ The Great Greek Gyro (no onions) x2: My boyfriend remarked that the gyro meat tastes like it was reheated, which I also noticed it slightly tougher than a more authentic one I've had previously. Still a very solid gyro given this is a chain and fast service place with a generous portion. ~ Sides with our meals: French fries and lemon potatoes Personally, the lemon potatoes are a pass next time as very buttery and heavy. The French fries however, were fantastic! They appear to be twice fried to have an extra crunchiness. Overall, if I'm in the area and in the mood for Mediterranean, then I'd pop in to The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. P.s. Don't forget to add your number for rewards via Toast!

The Vegetarian plate was also generous and was enjoyed by my friend. It included three crispy falafel, hummus, tabouleh salad, baba ghannoug, 2 stuffed grape leaves and tahini sauce with pita bread. We look forward to returning. Highly recommended for delicious Greek food and generous portions at a fair price!

Everything looked soooo appetizing on the menu and since I was going to meal prep this week, the Al Sham Chicken Combo caught my eye. For $15, you get little cute pieces of chicken shawarma with 2 dips! I was in love with the red sauce and wish the garlic sauce was more garlic-y but it was good either way! The kofta was great as well but would definitely come back more for their shawarmas but it's definitely the best bang for your buck I also got some baba ganoush on the side to dip my fries in but unfortunately, I thought the baba ganoush was too lemony/there was too much sumac added so it wasn't as enjoyable. Most baba ganoush I've tasted in my hometown also had a smokey flavor to it from the eggplant so it really couldn't compare.
