This location has a great bar area and a private outdoor patio area. They have a seasonal menu and a great happy hour menu (try the sangria!!). The hummus trio with extra pita is the perfect starter. On todays visit I placed an order for pickup and it was waiting when I got there. I had the wood fired veggie lavash wrap with a side salad. The Gyros and chicken shawarma are also solid choices. It's been here since I moved to the valley in the late 90s, and I know it's always a safe space to bring friends and family for a good meal that has something for everyone - even fussy vegans! The dish itself is tasty enough, but the caramelized onions on top are uniquely outstanding. I usually get a falafel ball or two to go with it. Late in the day this week, I stopped into Pita Jungle for a snack of hummus and maybe something else. Elise was my server and made me feel welcome at the outset. I got the cilantro-jalapeño hummus and requested corn chips instead of pita chips. This might be a sin at a place with Pita in the name, but I prefer theIr blue corn tortilla chips. The hummus was flavorful with more cilantro than jalapeño flavor...in case you're not a fan of spicy. It was not spicy in flavor at all. I also got the berry iced tea. It was thirst-quenching and delicious. (It may even be their own blend as it didn't taste like other berry teas I've had.) When Elise swung by to check on me, I decided to get the caprese appetizer. First, the appetizer was quite large and it ended up basically being my dinner and the next day's lunch. Tomatoes were big, red and juicy. The mozzarella slices were just right, and in between were crispy, seasoned pita chips. It was nicely arranged on field greens, topped with basil and a balsamic drizzle. I highly, highly recommend this. Every Pita Jungle has a different vibe based on the design of the building and the local artists they feature. I found this location to be very chic, but approachable. After boxing up my leftover caprese, Elise even offered a to-go cup for the berry tea! If Elise chooses a long-term career in food service, I hope she ends up training other servers and hostesses. She's an excellent asset to the Pita Jungle team. read more

My long-time dining experience with Pita Jungle goes all the way back to my ASU college days at their original location in Tempe. It was a big hit with the students back then and still is today. Pita Jungle opened its first Valley location 25 years ago in 1994. They now have over 20 locations. Pita Jungle serves healthy Mediterranean food. The menu consists of healthy sandwiches, bowls, and wood-fired pizzas. They accommodate all lifestyles including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. I first dined at this Phoenix location during a Christmas event that they hosted a few years back. It is definitely one of the bigger Pita Jungles that I have been to. I enjoy looking at the artwork from local artists on the wall. For food, the Gyro and Chicken Shawarma are always a go-to for me. You can't have an entrée without starting off with some hummus. The Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus and Roasted Red Pepper are good choices. If you want to add Sriracha, Pita Jungle has three flavors to choose from: red, green and ghost. They are also available for purchase if you want to bring some home with you. The Wood-Fired Pizzas, the Chicken Combo Platter and Tikka Masala are also some favorites for me.
