Let me start by saying that when you walk in you are always greeted or acknowledged. The staff most always stops what their doing to take your order and get you what you need. They make sure your pita is fresh, yummy, and made to your views of perfection. My boyfriend and I go here many times for a quick bite for lunch on the weekends. The line is usually very short and if it isn't they huddle and make sure you are moving along quickly. The reasoning for a 4 and not a 5 is because I believe that sometimes they need more than 2 people working and that the bathroom and eating area could always use a little cleaning up.l, But other than that they always have made me happy! read more

Love the gyros with tzatziki. It is an experience best served multiple times in a row while wearing sweat pants. One tip. Don't skimp of the meat. $2.00 is too much for too little extra. Love the club as well. Truthfully, I haven't had one that I didn't like. It's the perfect meal when you are craving a big fresh salad, but still want some tasty dead animal flesh to put on top. This place is horrible now...I used to go here all the time. I decided to go and get myself a pita before a meeting. There was a nice couple in there that offered I go ahead of them....and I replied no that's ok and thank you. They took several minutes which wasn't a problem at all but as they were finishing up and about to head down the line a young girl and a lady walk in and go right behind the couple as if I wasn't even there. I figured the clerk would say that I had been waiting...but nope she just went on as well. Funnily enough, we have a Pita Pit in the Marina and have never been. But I found myself buzzed and hungry late night in Chico and "The Pit" was open late. I felt like breakfast at the time and thankfully, they served their breakfast wraps all day. The food was fine and dandy and all that but the most noteworthy portion of this meal was when I put my order in: Me: Can I have a breakfast pita with bacon? I only gave this place 2 stars because I am way too nice to give anyone 1 star (...for now. Wait til my hormones are in overdrive then maybe that'll change. Pita Pit, you are safe this time). Every time I've eaten here I have thrown up within 5 minutes. And no, I was sober all of the times so, yes, I clearly remember how awful it tasted both going down and then coming back up. Blech. First off, the place is confusing. It should be where you put the pita together then pay for everything at the end - not the other way around. Also, I dunno about the whole burrito wrap technique, but mine always ripped and fell apart all over the place. Maybe it was a sign of the dire things to come once finally being able to consume it. Maybe I should have heeded the warning and stopped before it was too late. Plus, there's only one unisex bathroom here. So on an average Chico night, It's fairly difficult to go upchuck what I just ate when there are a bunch of random drunkies stumbling around trying to do the same thing (but for other reasons). Pita Pit is a mix between food and a trip to the zoo depending on what time you go. There's day-time Pita Pit which would be 4 stars because the food isn't bad, the service is good and it's pretty basic and easy to figure out. Then there's the night-time Pita Pit which is 2 stars because it's full of animals who, when not spilling their food/drink all over the floor, are screaming and trying ever so desperately to get laid. I'm sober so it's always interesting to say the least when watching a group of girls pulling down their skirts that are 8 sizes too small for their freshman 15 while a group of drunk guys half stumble in and throw out a "Daaaaamn, you hot!!!!" minutes later. I'd go elsewhere but if you're downtown and DD on the weekend, there aren't a whole lot of options other than pizza or hot dogs. At least the food is decently healthy here and the staff is good about getting things moving if you're in a hurry. read more

The food is good, the customer service is good and it is upbeat. The employees run a tight ship there and are always washing their hands and cleaning up. The vegetables are always fresh and delicious and the variety of sauces are out of this world. The only things that I do not particularly like is that they will sometimes serve sprouts that are soppy and slimy looking. I also do not enjoy the overbearing lights. If you are looking for somewhere to eat where the food is cheap, consistant, quick and yummy than this is a good place for you. They are also very nice to small children, and usually offer them a free cookie with their meal. read more

So many people rave about this place, so I gave in and gave it a shot. There are a lot of things going for it, for sure: -Quick service -Unique food -Variety of ingredients Buuuttttt, I can't let them get off that easy. I ordered the roast beef, because I figured that since I always like a roast beef sandwich I would like a roast beef pita. Wrong. They literally took some roast beef lunch meat out of the fridge and package and tossed it on the grill. I thought, "Um...Okay, guess I'm getting a warm pita." I had it filled with all my favorite things (which is sort of confusing the way it is set up), but OMG it tasted awful! My grilled lunch meat tasted like dirty grill. There was black stuff all over the beef and I wanted to throw up. I even made the other people in my party taste it because I thought I was insane to think that I had a piece of meet that tasted like a grill and not like meat. Yuck! Everyone agreed that it was disgusting. Now, the other people in my party either liked theirs or sort of liked it, I was the only one who hated it. Everyone else ordered chicken, though. My husband said the finished pita looks kind of like someone threw up into a burrito and called it good. So, I don't think I'll go back. I'll stick with deli shops for actual sandwiches from now on. read more

YUUUMMM!!! I think I'm also a little biased because going to the Pita Pit in Chico reminded me of the one on Davis. That being said, my pita was still damn tasty. I got the Philly with no onions and no cheese. It was still amazing with the sauce and mushrooms through! Their sweet onion sauce tastes a lot like the one from Subway. HAH. But it's still good! The pitas can get a little drippy and messy so be careful when eating it. I forgot how the restaurant works so I may or may not have lined up in the wrong place. Pita pit is awesome!!! I love coming here because the pitas are always good! I like the chicken Slovaki and also the Dagwood. I get both the pesto mayo sauce and the garlic aioli; those are my two favorites. Also the pocket points deal on these makes it even more affordable with a "buy one pita get the other half off" deal! Pita Pit is a good place. I've only had one or two questionable experiences over the hundreds of times I've eaten here. There is definitely an art to creating a good Pita, and the person making it does influence the overall experience. That being said, like a sandwich, if you throw the right ingredients in there, it's going to come out ok. The staff is almost always great. Fun, friendly people. I have had a few times where I might have caught someone at the end of a shift, or on a bad day, but overall those are forgotten in the myriad of good experiences. I had the opportunity to try Pita Pit at the Taste of Chico yesterday. After have sliders, chicken, and other heavy foods, it was refreshing to see Pita Pit's choices. I ended up trying their hummus pita which had a lot of flavor. I was very happy with it and would definitely try their restaurant out. It was refreshing and not heavy but filling. My friend tried their caesar pita which she said had great flavor. Both of us felt that this place was our favorite after trying 3 other places at the event. It was fresh. read more

You can't go wrong at the Pita Pit. It's a healthy alternative to other fast food joints out there, and even more satisfying. The pitas are stuffed with fresh veggies which you get to choose yourself, and it's unlimited (unlike a place like Pluto's that only gives you 7 choices). There's a wide variety of dressings, including my favorites: tzatziki and dijon mustard. You can choose between white or wheat pita, and I always get the wheat, even though it's more likely to fall apart. I usually get the tuna or chicken pita, but sometimes the chicken is a bit greasy and fatty, which I don't like. The baba ganouj is also very good. Great choice for a quick meal, either to eat-in or to-go, and it's cheap! read more

An absolute disappointing experience today. I always come to pita pit when I am home and today was the worst service and meal I have ever had. My quesapita with chicken was over cooked and they put the wrong cheese on. I also requested veggies inside and was incredibly unsatisfied that they didn't ask which veggies and put literally 1/4 of a cup of the ones they assumed in. While I stood and waited for my party of 4's food I watched the man on the grill wipe his sweat off his face with his apron TWICE. Absolutely disgusted. Will skip it next trip definitely. read more

My favorite place to go during my lunch break. I almost always get the same thing: turkey pita on wheat with romaine lettuce, peppers, cucumber, mushrooms, sprouts, olives, pepper jack cheese, and tzatziki mixed with mango habanero dressing. DELICIOUS!!! read more

I travel to Chico 3 times a year and each time I dream of having a wrap at Pita Pit. This past Tuesday, my first visit to Chico this year, I drove 5 hrs, partially in rain to arrive 3 minutes before closing. Chairs were up, server was sweeping, but the lights were on and the door open. I asked if I could get a sandwich. Without hesitation the young man told me " of course". His co worker, a young woman came out from the back, made my wrap and in 3 minutes I was out the door. Not only is the food fresh and good the service is spectacular. I love any place that offers breakfast all day. They offer about 5 bfast and a dozen or so lunch ones. I had the steak and eggs, and it was only $8 (no hummus or avocado which is extra). Basically imagine a subway but with wraps. Lots of sauces and toppings to choose from. I ate half then had the other half for the next day. read more

No too happy.. I walked in to order at 8:35pm and the guy told me "oh we are closed" In shock I said, "oh, what time do you guys close?" He said "9pm" I said, "oh well it's only 8:35" He replied, "umm actually we closed at 8:30" While there is still a customer sitting in there eating, the door was unlocked, and their sign was still out on the sidewalk. Definitely the go to place when you want something good, fast & fairly healthy. Love how you pick your protein then hand pick the rest to your liking. I ordered the buffalo chicken on a wheat Pita. TIP: ask them to grill your veggies with your protein. Me personally I like them grilled. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. Sit in one of the seats facing the street and do a little people watching. It's like having a quick bite to eat and a show. I think they're open late for those who like to hangout downtown and do a little bar hopping. read more
