Pita pit is a great restaurant. Their employees are all super nice, and the food is amazing. I would definitely recommend stopping by. However their delivery service is terrible. They have gotten my last 3 orders wrong, and it seems that the employees are incapable of reading the order off of a piece of paper. When I asked for the key to the rest room, the employee looked me in the eye and said that if the bathroom is locked it mean somebody is inside. I love Pita Pit, I really do. For breakfast or for lunch. Why did I give it two stars then? For their customer service. The food is healthy and isn't bad for the price, but what I find frustrating is their employees. My spouse and I will usually go on Sunday mornings after our runs for a breakfast pits. On one occasion we phoned in an order and the girl who answered was hesitant to take our order indicating that she was the only one working that morning so she would get to it as fast as she can but it would have been a while. I can't remember her exact words but I was hesitant on even placing the order. I did and figured we live on the complete opposite side of town so by the time we stopped for coffee that would have given her nearly a 1/2 hour. We walked in and to my disappointment the order hadn't even been started. Once I paid she started it right away. I was annoyed but that did not stop me from coming back. What has stopped me is on a Sunday morning we checked online to see what time they opened. Their website says 9:00 but when we showed up their sign says 9:30, so we stopped in next door for some coffee. A little after 9:30 we walk next door and see a girl inside who watched us walk up to the door she then turned around and walked in the back. We waited a minute or so and she came and opened the door and said super rude that we don't open until 10:00 and started to close the door, I questioned her and she said that the sign was wrong. This was the same girl that I encountered the last time... They need employees that are friendly. Not to mention, when they are having their daily specials just because I don't want a soda, why do you have to charge me more than what the actual cost is of the daily special? Just charge me the special and keep the cup, I am saving you product! I was baffled by this. I now will just take the cup and will normally fill it and give it to one of the numerous homeless that hang around the store fronts downtown. Love the Pit! There are many meat & vegetarian pita options & so many toppings & sauces to choose from & you can customize your pita exactly how you want. So you can change it up each time you go or stick with your fav. There are like endless combinations you can do just by switching up which sauces you choose or what vegetables you fill your pita with. Ask for your veggies grilled sooo delicious. I think the reason why people are giving Pita Pit subpar reviews is because they don't have the refined technique of mastering the pita picking part of the process (You will soon learn that I am a fan of alliteration). Don't worry, there isn't anything wrong with your taste, it just takes some practice. Pita Pit has become a staple for me as a grad student. I have been here so many times that I have perfected my personal pita, something everyone who loves Pita Pit has discovered at some point. Perfecting your personal pita is a necessary part of discovering your passion for pitas offered at Pita Pit. Like any build-your-own sandwich, pita, or burrito shop, your common sense tells you that caesar sauce should NOT accompany a BLT. That's why they give you the power to wield your pita prowess, albeit it may take you a few tries to perfect that pita. However, the moment you take that first bite and reach your pita peak, you will always know what combination of toppings to put on your pita. And although American culture has taught you to put ranch and mayo on everything, try something like tzatziki or secret sauce for a change. Before you know it, you will have a perfect pita that you will pine for when you hear the words, "do you want white or wheat?". On a side-note, the employees here will be your true pita pal for life. Okay, alliteration aside, I on one occasion had to stand next to a sleepwalking drunk while he proceeded to order a pita. In his catatonic state he fell into me a number of times while I was building my pita. I felt kinda sorry for the lush. However, one of the employees came out and handled it wonderfully. He looked into the drunk man's dazed and disoriented eyes and said, "If you touch her one more time, I will escort you out of here myself." Out of all the years I have been coming here, I am surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet! I love Pita Pit with all my heart - they are healthy, affordable, and tasty....I used to come here all the time when I went to Chico State, and still came here when I would visit. I'm now a grad student and have only been back twice, so I think I'll try to go again. HOWEVER, one time a few months ago I was bragging to some of my friends how great this place was and convinced them to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was one of those moments where you rave to your friends about a place and when you get there, turn up disappointed. For one, I am a Pita regular so I know where to stand in line - you line up in front of the cashier, vertically, not horizontally (leaning against the counter). I know this sounds stupid, lol, but thats just how it is. When we got there, we had some other newcomers in front who were standing in a different position. This confused me, thus confused my guests, and made the ordering process a bit of a hassle. Anywho, the workers that day weren't as friendly as the typical Pita staff, and grunted through their, "White or wheat?" saga. My friends were not impressed, as their Pita was falling apart. Again, its a near perfect place in my opinion, but just that one day they were not on their A-game. They also offer STUDENT DRINKS if you ask for it - 35 cents the last time I was there...it might be 50 cents now --- and their food is DELICIOUS! I'd recommend the Gyros myself! read more

Love this place! Good eats for sure they have a white and wheat pita option and you can make any pita into a salad (which is awesome if looking for something more healthier! There salads are huge too) they serve breakfast pitas that are to die for. For lunch I like the Caesar pit it comes with chicken bacon and choice if pita type, toppings and sauce. They are open late so if your ever out at the bars late night this is the place to stop. They have extremely friendly staff who can always throw you some suggestions. And the owners really care about there patrons and take pride in there store! 5 stars all around. read more

I've been here twice and was disappointed both times. The first time I wasn't really sure what to order so I basically ordered what I would order on a sandwich and it was not good. I figured it was my mistake. So I tried it again last week and went with a breakfast pita. I'm a vegetarian and was drawn to pita pit in the first place because they advertise that they have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. So I was pretty shocked and disgusted when I saw them cook my eggs and veggies in the same spot on the grill that they had just cooked meat... without cleaning it. The employee was also using the same spatula to cook my food and all the other food on the grill (mostly meat) at the same time - again without cleaning it. SO LAZY AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I had to watch him very carefully to make sure a piece of meat didn't end up in my pita... I should NOT have to do that! In addition to the vegetarian nightmare I experienced, the customer service was very disappointing. After ordering and paying for my pita, I stood in line for about 20 minutes and there were only 4 people in front of me. When they finally got around to my order, the guy had to come up to me and ask me what I got, ingredient for ingredient. He seemed annoyed and was very unfriendly, and none of the workers apologized for the wait. Seven dollars and twenty five minutes later... I got my pita, and it didn't even taste that great. The "avocado" was actually guacamole (I hate when restaurants do that), and the hash browns were chopped up so small and mixed into the eggs so well that I couldn't even taste them. They were also skimpy on the cheese even though I asked for extra, and the whole thing mostly tasted like spinach and egg. It was definitely not worth the price and the wait, especially because I could have made it at home much better and quicker. Even if it tasted amazing though, I would not return! It's overpriced, the service is slow and unfriendly, and for a vegetarian the food preparation is unacceptable. read more

I was disappointed with this place. I was expecting a Greek style Gyro, instead I basically got an over stuffed burrito. The "Gyro" comes with beef and lamb, and the rest of the ingredients you select yourself. There was only a handful of meat, which was buried underneath a pile of lettuce. The girl overstuffed it with lettuce, and it ended up bursting and falling out. I had to take several bites to actually get to the meat and tzatziki sauce. The entire thing was cold, and I couldn't taste anything but lettuce, half of which ended up falling out. The place smells really bad, and I wasn't happy that they put the pita on a bare, dirty, counter top, when they were making it. I've been to Greece, so believe me, these are NOT real Gyros, and they should not call them that. A "real" Gyro is supposed to look like a gordita, NOT an overstuffed burrito, and be packed with meat instead of lettuce. It cost just under $8.00, which I thought wasn't a bad deal, considering the size, but for that price, I expected better quality, and more authenticity. In Greece, you can get a "real" gyro pita for less than $3. At least the staff knows the correct pronunciation, so I'll give them credit for that. I probably won't be returning here any time in the future. If you want a more traditional Greek Gyro, head to Sultan's Bistro, just up the street. read more

Super white bread styles wanna Mediterranean. For what it is, it tastes pretty fantastic and fresh. For what it's not, authentic in any manner of speaking, I am a little sad. They wrap their pitas like a burrito, which I will now try at home because that was the easiest stuffed pita I've ever consumed! I did like their falafel (though it's super salty), and their babaganough (though it was not terribly baba-ey, just like the tzatziki). I've known about Pita Pit for years but I haven't gone until recently because I always assumed it was just like Subway for pita's, and yes that is kind of what it's like, but so much more! I like how you order first, and then go through and pick all your pita toppings. I usually always get the falafel, which is great with so many toppings (spinach, tomatoes, feta, jalepenos, pepperoncinis, red onions, olives), babaganoush, hummus AND tzatziki sauce. It ends up being like a giant falafel burrito. Definitely well priced for the amount of food you are getting. I also had the gyro once and that was surprisingly delicious! Definitely above my expectations. The staff is always friendly, and sometimes funny and personable. The stamp cards are awesome too, definitely a great place to go to get something quick to eat or to go that's pretty fresh and somewhat healthy. read more

I don't see how you could not like pita. It is a chain restaurant but they make some great food and are open very late so you can get out of the bars and get some food before you go home. I prefer the Ceasar pita which is always great. They deliver but it is better to just go to the store and not pay the extra 6 bucks for delivery. read more

I was impressed with the vegan options and the worker was very educated about the products. The service was a bit slow and there were only 2 customers total. Really refreshing and filling! Their pitas definitely hit the spot. My favorite is The Local - Bacon, Tomato, and Avocado with all of the toppings and honey mustard sauce. Delicious for any day! Sometimes there is a bit of a crowd though, so I would avoid going at the main lunch hours. read more
