    Teriyaki burger
    Carlo G.

The teriyaki burger I had here was pretty decent. For around $6, it was a pretty good price for sirloin meat. The meat was charred and I liked how the sauce it was covered in wasn't too sugary or thick. The meat could've been juicer, but still a good value relative to price. What I didn't like about this burger was how wet it was. The sauce combined with the liquid from the meat made the burger bun soggy and wet when unwrapping which was messy and wasn't ideal. They have a big and free parking lot located next to the restaurant. There's no tables or seating, so this is a grab and go type of place. They also only accept cash. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here again. However, if I was located near here I would come back for a cheap and indulgent meal.

Old school since 1966. My mom was in the mood for Yoshinoya so I had something better in mind. We ordered the chicken teriyaki small bowl and it was delicious. The owner told me they make their own teriyaki sauce from Japanese ingredients. The only drawback is that there is no place to stand or sit at a table which they have plenty of room to add to next to the parking lot.

Very disappointed. The hype around this place wasn't anything I received from a teriyaki plate combo and a double teriyaki burger with a side of fries. Double Teriyaki burger: Bottom bun was soggy after 5 minutes of sitting in our Togo bag. The meat was overcooked, dry and rough to chew. There was hardly any trace of teriyaki sauce. Not worth buying. Fries: they were just okay. Teriyaki plate combo: So much rice. Lacked teriyaki sauce. Meat was too rough. Chicken was okay. I won't be coming back here again.

It would be easy to drive past Pitburger on Normandie and mistakenly dismiss the colorful, yet unassuming exterior as just another local dive. However, when a place like this has been around for a while, you know there must be a reason. Word travels, and in this case, the hype is justified. Pitburger offers a cash-only selection of island-style fare with their own twist on it. The portions offer great value. The combo plate is enough for 2-3 meals, and it's not just rice and sides...it is comes fully loaded with your choices of grilled meat. After placing your order at the walk-up window, you wait until called back up. The vibe is very relaxed, and somehow it feels like you've been transported from bustling Gardena to laidback Kailua Kona. The food took a while to prepare, but it was worth the wait. Excited to go back and sample more from the menu.

I live on the street and I remember having their food before I was a pescatarian and it was really delicious. They're teriyaki bowls are amazing. The teriyaki sauce is superb here. Then I became a pescatarian for five years.... The first hamburger I ate after the five years was actually here and it was so delicious I had it again a week later. Fast forward a year later, here I am again ordering two burgers, fries and two teriyaki bowls to pack for lunch later this week all under 40 bucks. Thanks guys! So good Cash only Make sure to tip them

This is one of the GOAT, Greatest of all Time sources for Beef Teriyaki because it's moist and tender, not overcooked, tough nor dry. I always ask, just in case, if they could cook the beef as "medium rare" because they're constantly cooking and not necessarily scooping rice and then pre-prepared meats sitting already cooked and possibly drying out on top. There os sometimes a longer wait than anticipated because they're constantly cooking seem to "cook to order" fresh.

FYI, this is a cash-only establishment. If you love charbroiled meats, you've come to the right place! What I Ordered: -Teriyaki Burger $5.65 -Teriyaki Bowl $5.65 I must say, the Teriyaki Burger at Pitburger is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time, and I eat out regularly. You can smell the meat cooking on the grill from a few blocks away. The smell is incredibly satisfying. I know it sounds silly, but it was a lovely aroma. I was surprised by the Teriyaki burger. Many people recommended it, but I wasn't sure what to expect. I imagined a ground beef patty, but instead, it was a sirloin patty! It came on a buttered sesame seed bun with lettuce and mayo. You can add cheese, but I went with the classic. You truly can't go wrong with the Teriyaki Burger. It was hard to take a good picture, but trust me, you HAVE to order it! Since I already ordered the burger, the lady at the counter suggested I try the chicken teriyaki. I ordered a bowl because I just wanted a small portion. It came with a decent amount of rice and chicken teriyaki. I was very full after finishing the burger and chicken bowl, and with tax, it came out to a little over $12, which is a bargain. If you're really hungry, get the large combo of chicken and beef teriyaki. It comes with a buttered roll and a Thousand Island-covered side salad. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Pitburger is a no-frills, hidden gem in Gardena. You won't be disappointed!

I haven't been here in decades, but it tastes the same and my kids like it. Portions are good I just wish there was more chili on the fries. I appreciate that they serve their plates with a lot of sauce. You can buy extra cups of sauce as well. Their Teri burgers are also really good.

Still the best tasting Teri burgers in town and I've been a customer since the 80's. They used to have indoor seating with table video games.

Teriyaki Burger: Char-grilled teriyaki beef slices on a butter-toasted bun, shredded lettuce, mayo. It works! Delicious!

Pitburger was brought to my attention by my bestie (Hi Aiko M!); she knows I love old-school/landmark spots that serves good eats loved by the community and beyond. Pitburger is a favorite burger stand in the Gardena area that does a GREAT char-grilled teriyaki plates and burgers. For myself, it's that perfect secret teriyaki sauce and delicious char on the meats that keeps me coming back! Also if you love chili fries, they make awesome chili fries! Reminds me of Wienerschnitzel Chili Cheese Fries, but better in quality. This place is an old-school stand or shack, but don't let appearance fool you: the food is GOOD here! Takeout only- no dine-in seating. Locals call their orders in by phone to avoid the wait time - pro move. ))))CASH ONLY((((

Ordered a chicken dinner plate and a medium chicken bowl. Presentation was already gorgeous as usual and flavor was on point. Yummy char on the chicken and ofc that signature teriyaki sauce. The salad and piece of bread kinda made it like a teriyaki Canes vibe LOL. The service was amazing as well always very helpful and knowledgeable on the menu itself. There's a small lot for parking but nowhere to eat so be prepared to take your food home or to a picnic location!

Now, I'm not gonna hold you... it was expensive. I ordered through DoorDash and got a burger with jalapeño ranch, bacon, cheese, and a prickly pear lemonade. (The lemonade honestly just tasted like regular lemonade. Nothing to hype up.) My friend got tacos, a blueberry lemonade, and ranch, and somehow our total came out to $78. Absolutely wild. But back to this burger... I got it cooked medium rare, of course. I actually asked for no house sauce, but they put it on there anyway. Normally I'd be annoyed, but honestly... it didn't even matter because that burger was STILL incredible. As I was biting into it, the juices were literally running down my hands, onto my shirt, and onto my pants. Did I care? Absolutely not. I ate about 75% of it in one sitting because it was huge. Later, I came back and finished the rest cold because it had lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on it, and I was too lazy to take everything off just to warm it up. And somehow... it was still delicious cold. Oh, and the tater tots? Super crispy. They paired perfectly with the jalapeño ranch.

I love a good fish taco, so we decided to try a few different ones. We got some Marco Mahi Tacos that come with cabbage, tomato, cilantro, and crema. You can choose flour or house made corn tortilla. We also got the George Fish Taco that has battered Alaskan cod. Both were good, but I enjoyed it more with the salsa on top. They have a Gabe Portobello Taco which I thought was interesting! It has a battered portobello inside, which I thought was unique. I would get it again! They have a lot of fun side items. We got some Tom Yum Sidewinder Fries that have a tasty tom yum salt added to them. The salt doesn't stick to the fries the best, but you can kind of dip them back in the salt at the bottom of the container for some more of that salty tart flavor! The Potato Rings look like onion rings. They're basically a tater tot in ring form. Fun to eat, but I wish they gave a few more in the order. We also got Crispy Battered Green Beans and Fried Zucchini. Both come with ranch sauce for dipping and were pretty solid! I'll be back to try their sandwiches and pastas!

Party on Western is a hole‑in‑the‑wall dive bar in the most affectionate way possible. The kind of spot where the lights are dim, the playlist is fire, and the walls have definitely seen some things they'll never speak of again. You walk in and immediately feel like you've joined a secret society of people who just want good music, strong drinks, and zero judgment. People will always judge...who are we fooling. lol!! The playlist? It was on point for the spot, it wasn't just good, it was spiritually aligned with my bloodstream. Every song slapped. Every beat felt like it was personally trying to fix my life choices. I swear one track looked me dead in the eyes and whispered, "You're doing amazing, sweetie." Let's talk about these drinks because they were flirting with me HARD. * Jack on the Rocks, a simple classic that's smooth, cold, and acting like it knew me from a past life. It slid across the bar like, "Hey stranger... miss me?" * Chilled Tequila Shot...Wow, this one didn't flirt. This one grabbed me by the soul and said, "We're making memories tonight." * Jack & Coke, it was sweet, bold, and absolutely lying to me. It told me I was the main character. It told me I was unstoppable. It told me I could dance. It was wrong... but I believed it. Ha ha ha! By drink three, I was ready to text people I shouldn't and tell the bartender my entire life story. Didn't happen though. Ha ha ha! Oh wait a minute...I almost forgot...I ordered some hot wings to set the tone, and let me tell you, they came in HOT like they were auditioning for a music video. Perfect bar wings: messy, spicy, and exactly what you need to convince your stomach that the tequila was a good idea. Typical bar food across the board, nothing fancy, nothing pretentious, just the classics and messy at its best. But let's be real: the drinks are the main event. The food is just there to keep you from making catastrophic decisions. At one point I swear my Jack & Coke winked at me. The tequila shot told me I deserved happiness. The wings told me to stop being dramatic. And the playlist told me to live my truth. This bar didn't just serve me drinks, it emotionally supported me. For better or worse, get over it!
