Over-torqued Piston Rods from a replaced crank. So, 4 Months ago, Son with very little money, just had a "I need to pay you to FIND BRONCO PROBLEMS" checkout needed. Said he had a pretty negative feeling afterwards. How bad? He's taking his driveline OUT of Rio, for a simple U-Joint switch-out. (I helped him take them off- 30 minutes.) "OK" If you need simple & easy Emergency work done. If you want to use YOUR Quality parts and have them installed? MANY mechanics refuse to just do "labor". Nowadays a simple CAM on your Labor/work would prove your time and efforts with parts you didn't buy yourself... NOBODY WILL DO THAT! So there's that. I haven't been back... WHY? James himself told me NOT to bring back the Sorento after it didn't run right when he got done. I did as he told me... Sorry I never left a review before. Been wrenching since I was 14 years old, 70 now, but have enough money to pay people to do it now... HARD to find a "GOOD MECHANIC" (that KNOWS what the problem is from your description-there's a tranny guy who can do that, over next to Travis!). GOOD NEWS! You can USUALLY find out what's actually wrong by being good at Googling symptoms. Takes practice! Let your finger do the walking! LOTS of "mechanics & Oil-Change services" try to UPSELL you on services. "Sometimes" Each thing they have to take off they get a PRICE FOR in a book... so if they have to take off 3 things to get to the problem...SOME will charge you for EACH part takeoff job... which is about 2-4X more expensive than it should be. You have to take all 3 parts off in a row at the same time, you SHOULDN'T get charged to take each off separately! Get other estimates from the work estimate you get. Be flexible. GOOGLE symptoms. USE Napa or other auto-parts stores for FREE Engine lights diagnostics! Take your time, do the research... unless it's simple... and you know what you need and how long it should take... Harbor Freight has several OBDII readers... which are always handy. Which all mechanics use. The cheap ones usually work for most problems. GOOGLE the Error codes, use your car make Forums... I had my Escape AC stop working... USUALLY a BIG $$$ DEAL for a mechanic! Found out it's a $13 Sensor & Monkey wrench fix. Google, then You tubed it. NAPA wanted $37 for the same part. And they needed a few days to order it! (thru eBay? They said 2-3 days too! LOL) Ask your friends for a GOOD mechanic and DROP their name when you go there! BNI networking is a good way to find a good service too! THEY have to do a good job to be referred to by OTHER businesses in their networking group. Talk to an Officer of BNI and get THEM to refer you a service/mechanic...

Get ready for a long one…read more Off the bat, Ron seems like a good businessman and generally a nice guy. He quoted me a great price for a level kit, wheels and tires. I was told that my wheels I wanted would be at the shop in 2 weeks (I'm assuming so he could secure a deposit from me, because I later learned that the wheels are on a nationwide back order of 1-2 months). After a lack of communication and poor transparency despite several text messages and phone calls, I ended up waiting about 6 weeks for the wheels. I felt as if I was chasing my own tail. I decided to wait for the wheels, mainly because he was reluctant to give me my deposit back, I figured maybe this is a one off situation, so I showed some grace. That was a mistake. 2 days before my appt, I informed Ron I'd arrive to the shop at 9am sharp, which he agreed and was aware of. Upon my arrival at 9am (opening time for the shop), I waited for over an hour before anyone even asked for my keys. Once the cogs finally started to move, I had asked to see the products before installation, to make sure they were correct. If it wasn't for me double checking, the incorrect kit would've been installed on my truck. When I confronted the employee about the incorrect kit, he responded with "this one is the best anyways". Turns out they opened the wrong box and tried to sell me on it anyways. Now for the wheels. Apparently after 6 weeks of waiting, and confirming with Ron and the KMC sales rep over the phone over a month ago regarding the model/spec of wheel, the "wrong wheels were delivered". So at this point, it's been an hour and a half since I arrived at the shop. My truck hasn't been touched, the wrong level kit was almost going to be installed, and my wheels weren't even present. With my frustration at this point, I asked what Ron could do to make me whole. I was told he could knock off $120 from the price and I would have to wait another order cycle for the wheels, for a grand total of 12-16 weeks from my initial deposit. Lackluster service. On their official website, this business claims that their "customer service is second to none. We are here to ensure that you get quality service from a team that cares!" This could not be further from the truth. I would save your time, money, and sanity and spend a few extra bucks going to a more reputable shop.

I just bought some new 17 inch method m312s and other shops told me that with my 2018 f150 I needed bigger wheels and I needed a bigger lift to fit the tires and this and that. I go over to The Chop Shop and tell them what I'd like and they say no problem. The guys over here are first class and know their stuff. Not only that but the price was by far, BY FAR, the lowest price. Turn around time from parts ordered to installed and back home was 1 week. Incredible service. Thank you very much Chop Shop!

They claim they are veteran owned and operated, they are anything but. They are new owners and have drove this business into the ground. came in for a simple tire inspection/repair at Vacaville Tire Center, not to buy new tires…read more I was told to drive forward into the tire area. A large man (who I later learned was the owner) walked up and immediately said, "Start the car." No greeting. No explanation. I asked, "What for?" He repeated, "Start the car." I asked again why. He then sarcastically said, "Do you know how to start your car?" Only after multiple times asking did he finally explain that he wanted me to slowly roll backward so he could visually check for a nail. That's fine -- but basic communication matters. Simply saying why would have avoided all of this. Instead, he escalated and told me I "didn't have a brain" and that I was an idiot who didn't know how to start my car. Completely unacceptable. I also asked why they don't use proper tire inspection methods (like removing the tire and checking for leaks in water). He said they don't have that equipment. The entire interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and hostile. It honestly seemed like he was irritated that I wasn't buying tires and was "only" getting a repair. Everyone has bad days -- but taking it out on customers is not professional. Beware of the owner's attitude at Vacaville Tire Center. I will not be returning. For anyone reading this: A1 Tire (which has strong reviews) is literally on the next street over on Brown Street. I recommend going there instead.
