My husband grew up in Connecticut with NY style pizza and this is his new favorite pizza spot in Charleston. We sat and ate yesterday afternoon and even mid-afternoon they had a steady stream of customers. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We got a half cheese half pepperoni NY style to share along with a Caesar and two drinks. The pizza is great - crust is super good, the sauce is nice and light. Will definitely be back for pizza. The salad was solid, fresh lettuce and great dressing. It was disappointing in terms of the size for the price we paid (felt like a side salad size for $11). They do only have bottled drinks so hopefully they'll have less plastic options soon but as a heads up if you don't like drinking from plastic. read more

Pizza was good, but their foodtruck is better! The hot honey is great on anything. Kind of disappointed by the lady behind me ordering as I was ordering and took the pepperoni roll we wanted to try. It was the last one and we were told they didn't have any more. Not sure if we will be back to this location but will go back to the foodtruck! read more

The pizza is authentic NY and very good. The staff needs to learn that they are serving customers, as you stand before them at the counter, not saving the pizza to look pretty for the next customer. I ordered three middle slices of a grandma pie, from a whole pie showcased at the counter. I paid and then turned to watch as the counter person pulled two middle slices and an end slice. I corrected him, I ordered three middle slices. He told me that it messes up the pie if the three middle slices are removed and that I would have to buy the whole pie if I wanted three middle slices. WHAT? Do I have to explain how wrong this is? Since when has ordering food become the choice of the server instead of the patron. As good as the food is, I don't want to be treated that way and I won't be returning. read more

The Caesar salad was half full with three croutons and maybe a handful of lettuce. The calzone was supposed to be pepperoni and sausage and it was just cheese and no marinara sauce on the side I was charged for. Horrible, overpriced and tastes like can sauce from Walmart. read more

Obviously I was very disappointed by my experience. Ordered The Parma pizza, "Light sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh arugula, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino &lemon." For $26 what I got was a pizza covered in arugula with only traces of some of the other ingredients. Found no prosciutto or mozzarella. They didn't even spread the sauce on the pie, it was left in clumps. I added pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives; saw four pepperoni slices, a couple of bits of black olive and no mushrooms. So now I'm up to $28.25 before tax. And, to top it off, I ordered a Caprise salad for $13. I've dined out a few times and I know that a $13 salad from a pizza place should be large enough for two people to share. This wasn't even enough to warrant opening the container, let alone share. Bottom line, I would have been more satisfied with a pizza from Little Caesar's. Seriously, this place should try selling cookies, sandwiches, flip flops, anything but pizza. I gave it one star because there are no zero star options. Everyone goes home with a trophy. read more

The service at this relatively new West Ashley pizza restaurant was fine. No complaints. The restaurant itself looked clean and well done. The only issue I had was with the pizza I ordered. The crust was dry. The cheese wasn't all the way melted. I picked up the pizza as soon as it was pulled from the oven, cut, and boxed. I then drove to my house 5 minutes away, and when I opened the box, the pizza was not very hot. My wife and I both had one piece, and we didn't want more. I ordered the white pizza, and this is what I am reviewing. I cannot say whether the regular pizza is good not, because I have never had it. Well...an amazing pizza roll for lunch. I got the sausage, peppers and onions. Surprise! Some hot peppers, maybe banana peppers and a welcomed bit of fresh chopped garlic. This is a hard review to write On a Tuesday, my husband and I drove 2 hours to try this pizza. We are from Long Island, NY and have been living in SC for 3 years. So when I tell you I miss pizza, that's an understatement. I am 4 months pregnant so the craving is real!! We arrived at 11:45am and got a reg slice(cheese), white slice, grandma slice and a Sicilian slice. Everything was delicious except the white slice needs globs of ricotta which is normally how you get it in NY. But everything tasted like home and we were both super happy. We enjoyed the day in the area and saw this restaurant has a special on Tuesday evenings for two cheese pies. We figured we would stop back at night and bring it home to share w friends and family bc we have a lot of New Yorker friends here. This pizza was kind of nasty. Tasted totally different from that same day morning pizza. I'm assuming there is a morning/afternoon chef and an evening chef. Well, the evening chef needs to get on the same page as the morning chef. The cheese to sauce ratio was totally different. It was also harder to chew. We did have a 2 hour drive home so we do know it's possible that's why it was harder to chew but normally, cold pizza or even day old pizza from NY is almost better. My opinion is whoever worked that Tuesday morning making pizza 4/29. He should teach everyone there how to make pizza when he isn't there bc his food was AMAZING. I'm pretty sure if we are in the area, we will patron this place again. The prices were right and it smelled and looked just like a typical NY pizza place. I truly want to give this place a better rating and I'm hoping when we do go back, I can give them 5 stars. I hope this review helps in someway because SC needs better food for sure. read more

Tried the buffalo chicken pizza. The dough was fine but the pizza was overpowered by buffalo sauce and chicken was dry. Cheese also appears unmelted. Maybe by choice but not my thing. read more

Michael, the owner, who apparently works at the Hollytwood location, needs to know all of these things. Yet again, there was no basil on my $24 Margarita pizza. The pizza shop that used to be in this plaza didn't make a margarita pizza because they couldn't afford to keep basil (their words). They closed their doors shortly thereafter. Modo Mio's pizza is no better, in my opinion, and they too have a supply issue. Twice I ordered a Meatball Hero, no rolls. Tonight, while I waited for my pizza, I heard them tell a custmer that they had no rolls for heros and no salads! What's up? I anticipate their demise in the near future. read more

Ordered by phone one night for pickup to feed myself and the children. Took a call or two because they're popular and busy, but that's not a bad thing. Walked in and my food was ready within a minute or two of my arrival. They also serve pizza by the slice at the counter, which is very nice and convenient. There products seem to be quality. We had went there to try them utilizing their pizza by the slice sales. However, my one problem with this establishment is, they do not maintain this very well and devote all of their attention to hold pizza takeout sales. We had the Pharma pizza tonight and it was so delicious! They did not go light on the arugula, so the toppings were perfect. We really love the crust and it is def. New York style pizza. Wow, my neighbor recommended Modo Mio and it did not disappoint! Finally NY Pizza, really good authentic and delicious! Got the Grandma Pizza and it was so tasty and had garlic knots that were outstanding, they get their dough shipped from NY 2X a week! Its the real deal.
